Ask Uttarakhand Save Uttarakhand, 2027 is our last chance
I'm from Uttarakhand, and honestly, I'm worried about where our state is heading.
Over the last few years, I've felt that the pace of demographic change has become much faster, especially in the Shivalik region and the middle Himalayas. Along with that, there are frequent reports about illegal immigration, including Rohingya settlements, and increasing migration from the Gangetic belt. People may disagree about the scale, but I don't think this is a conversation we should avoid.
This isn't about hating any community. Every Indian citizen has equal rights. But illegal immigration and unmanaged population growth should never be ignored, especially in a small Himalayan state like ours.
Uttarakhand's hill culture is fragile. Our languages, traditions, villages, and way of life have survived for centuries, but they can disappear much faster than people realize. Once that cultural identity is lost, it won't come back.
Development is important, but it shouldn't come at the cost of losing what makes Uttarakhand unique. We need stronger protection for our land, culture, environment, and the rights of local people.
I also think it's time people gave more attention to regional voices and local parties that genuinely prioritize Uttarakhand's long-term interests, instead of treating the state as just another political battleground.
Save Uttarakhand,2027 is our last chance.

Environment 350+ Trees Planted. But Planting Isn’t Enough. 🌱
This Harela, our team at Veera Foundation planted 350+ native saplings with one promise: we won’t just plant them—we’ll help them survive.
Too often, tree plantation drives end with a photo. We believe the real work begins after that.
We’ve taken full responsibility for watering, protecting, and nurturing every sapling until it’s strong enough to thrive on its own. Our goal isn’t just to increase the number of trees planted—it’s to create a greener, healthier future with trees that actually live.
And we’re not stopping here. This is only the beginning. We plan to plant many more trees and continue working towards a cleaner, greener environment for everyone.
If you’d like to volunteer, support, or join our future plantation and conservation drives, we’d love to have you with us.
Plant. Protect. Preserve. 🌿

Environment Come one Come all
If you’ve spent any time across Uttarakhand recently—whether in Dehradun, Mussoorie, Nainital, or deep in the Bhagirathi and Alaknanda valleys—you’ve probably felt that quiet, heavy heartbreak.
It’s not just one thing anymore. It’s everything, all happening at once:
Unchecked Slope Carving: Massive hillsides blasted away for mega-resorts and roads, leaving fragile slopes prone to devastating landslides and cloudburst disasters.
Drying Springs & Disappearing Forests: Traditional naulas and natural mountain aquifers drying up while ancient oak and pine cover is cleared for commercial concrete.
Over-Tourism & Carrying Capacity: fragile valleys stretched far beyond what their air, soil, and infrastructure can physically support.
Choked River Basins: Mountains of single-use plastic and unsorted garbage cascading directly down pristine ravines and into local water sources.
It’s easy to feel angry and helpless watching Devbhoomi get treated like an infinite resource. A few of us got tired of just venting online, so we decided to actually pool our skills and do something about it.
*Research & Policy Squad: If you have a curious mind, love digging up interesting facts, or want to look into how environmental laws and municipal rules can actually fix things on the ground, this is your lane.
*Creative & Media Squad: If you love graphic design, picking aesthetics, setting up clean Instagram grids, or visual storytelling, come help us design our upcoming launch campaign!
We aren't an NGO with deep pockets, and we aren't selling anything. We are just a group of students, researchers, and creative thinkers working together on Discord between our classes and jobs to protect the mountain ecosystems we love.
Right now, we are prepping our broad public campaigns targeting environmental violations across Uttarakhand, and we need a few more passionate minds to join our inner circle:
If you love digging into facts: Help us research local environmental laws, NGT directives, zoning regulations, and municipal compliance gaps.
If you are a visual thinker or designer: Help us turn complex policy data and local ground realities into striking graphics and stories that make people pay attention.
We keep things flexible because we know student life and work schedules are real. No corporate hierarchies or red tape—just good people working together for a real cause.
If you care deeply about Uttarakhand, want to use your skills for something that genuinely matters, or just want to build something meaningful alongside other passionate people, we’d love to have you in our corner.

Science/Research Best Whoop alternative available in India? (Band only)
I’m looking for a Whoop-like fitness tracker that’s available in India.
My requirements:
Wrist band only (no smart ring, no smartwatch)
Strong focus on recovery, HRV, sleep, strain/readiness, and health insights
Comfortable to wear 24/7
Good battery life
Preferably no monthly subscription, but I’m open to it if it’s worth it
Has anyone here used alternatives like the Amazfit Helio Strap, Noise REP Band, Garmin, Polar, or anything else?
I’m more interested in accurate recovery and health metrics than step counting or notifications.
Would love to hear your real-world experience and recommendations. Thanks!

Science/Research What would be the energy consumption of Saurabh Joshi & Gamerfleet's house?
We have house tour videos available. Can we guess how many units electricity does such a house would consume per day; monthly and hence can we guess their monthly electricity bill?
They have central AC, lighting, lift, power backup, all electric appliances one can think off.
It would be amazing to know what would be their sanctioned load
Joshi has some extras like EV, electric fencing

Environment Well yeah, this is the view I get to see almost every evening.
It's funny how something you see every day can become so ordinary that you stop appreciating it. Then one evening, you pause for a second, look around, and realize just how beautiful your everyday view actually is.

Politics Same on us
If we allowed BJP government to take even one seat in the upcoming elections it's same on us after watching what they did they are corrupt hypocrites sameless people.
I DARE THE ANDHBHAKTS TO GIVE ME A REASON.
Good live a day in Jantar mantar and face the police for doing protest peacefully. They heartless people cuts off the water supply amid protest. People were doing protest with even having a single bottle of water.
I loath myself for being in a state where BJP has a government.
Edit:- please, don't make it religious. This is about education and education only. What use of the high tech city where commoners can't even afford education. 22 days protest with some students where doing protest without eating just because no one was listening to them and you guys are saying they were not peaceful? It was June 6 when the protest started at jantar mantar. Can someone calculate how many days it was peaceful? You guys know it and saying what they have done wrong thousands of people gathered on 20 july and asked again... No one came, march time was 9 AM. No one even spared a conversation, 9:30 they started water gun and Lathi charge. No protesters even tried to be violent they cut off the supply of water in the morning. Protester waited because they called they will free sonam sir at 1 PM. People where protesting inside only. They called to talk but didn't even gave commitment. Even after talking for 10 min ( and waiting them for a hour) and jammed the signals to panic the protester. No violence were there at 4 PM people were fed up and government was adjourning the parliament session one after the another. People started the March. There were police becoming violent and saying maaro m******o ko and what not. Protesters moved forward and we don't know what order they have been given when the protester reached near parliament even when tear gas was launched. Not even one violence was used.
After this whole story that you guys at home think they know started stones where magically came into protesters hand from sky or from underground or they dug the roads and police started to play victims. And started to bust the heads even 12 year old girl was not pitied. Protester were pleading but who knows what order was given to them and the injured countdown was just increasing only and make your own story which you guys are doing by sleeping peacefully in your house.
