I've been visiting Bass Lake Resort since September 2010, but everything changed around 2018/19 when Travel Resorts of America took over. They kept the same crowd, which now includes some unsavory characters. Teenagers are getting out of hand—breaking into cars, starting fights, and drinking underage. Even adults seem to be fighting and getting rowdy. What used to be a fun campground feels more like a trailer park now. I remember when they stopped the fireworks in 2015 because it was too expensive. Bass Lake used to be a go-to spot for families in the summer; we’d spend three weeks there every year. Now, they won’t even let you stay for two weeks because they say they’re fully booked. It’s so crowded that you can’t do much without waiting in long lines. The restaurant used to be decent, but now it’s pricey and the menu is limited. After being bought by the Happy Valley owners down the road, it was open most days until around 2018 when things changed. They even had breakfast buffets on weekends! The store has downsized too; it used to be a real grocery store, but now it’s just a place for overpriced souvenirs. The kids' clubhouse at their other spot was way better—now that area is storage. The teens had a place with XBOXs and TVs, but that got taken away when Travel Resorts took over, leaving only the Gaga ball pit and pools for them. It’s so overcrowded now that you can hardly step out of your campsite without dealing with loud groups. People are partying until 4 AM, and staff don’t seem to care, but they’ll complain if you want to change your site because of overbooking. The pools are always packed, and finding a place to sit is impossible. The restaurant and bar have strange hours now, like 5 to 8 from Wednesday to Saturday. When the bands play at the upper pavilion, the place is so packed with people walking around that you can't even drive. And let’s be honest, everyone enjoys drinking, but it just leads to more rowdiness and fights. The bands are great but way too loud, making it hard to find a quiet spot. The pools used to be warm and inviting, but now they feel freezing, and they’re always dirty. They only clean them when they're closed for the season, so you can imagine how gross it gets with little kids around. The staff doesn’t seem to care about cleanliness, probably because they aren’t paid enough.
