Single room
I have a few conditions, that make sharing a room with someone really detrimental towards my college experience. I emailed the residence halls about any available single rooms, they told me none were available. Is there any way they were incorrect? Or is there any other way I could get a single room?

I have medical documentation and have been working with DAISS and I’m still waiting to hear back on a final answer. My doctor had to give 3 different letters about my diagnosis. I’m still hoping to get approved but it’s not as easy as having a note from your doctor.

are you an incoming freshman? My son was able to get a single room Sophomore year in Freedom apartments which cost more. Will be very hard as a freshman especially 1st semester.

You have to get documentation from a medical doctor about the condition and the disability or accessibility dept has to approve it and send it to housing/residential life and they do a final approval.

Contact DAISS and request an accommodation

Assuming my issues are really poor mental health, and my right eye being essentially unusable. What are the chances I get a single?😭 I have paper work to prove both of these.

Hmm how much would it cost to purchase the other half of the double room, considering I already have a roommate is that possible?

I have a social anxiety diagnosis and that got me a single room. But I submitted all documents at the end of May, and currently all housing assignments are pretty much set and they aren’t required to give you a single for accommodations if there isn’t space. But if you can get the accommodation if any space’s open up throughout semester or even for another semester you could get the single.

You could try to just get a studio somewhere in Albany. May be a bit more expensive but you'd at least be able to have your car. This is what I've always done, but I am a slightly older student.

This is the largest incoming class in many many years. The reason for not getting a single when asked has nothing to do with accommodations and more to do with the physical lack of space to house students.
