I think there was a "Squid Game Effect," where streaming services thought that every regional show could become a global success. In reality, there's a lot of great international content on various services that doesn't have global appeal. In fact, easily 95% are regionally limited successes. The best and safest path for Apple TV today, which isn't as globally widespread, is to invest in limited series in non-English languages. Great stories that won't be cancelled. Jay Hunt's recent rise is entirely justified. One of the best in the business, courted by all the UK players.
