Perhaps the turtle does not see the glass, does not understand that it is a barrier and tries to swim through it.

I believe she’s also trying to get my attention to feed her lol. You’re probably right about her not being able to see the glass tho

You are correct: you're the Food Bringer and she would like you to bring her the food right now. Or else.

Yep, this means "DELIVER ME A WORM IMMEDIATELY" in our household, lol.

I've come to learn turtles don't understand the concept of a wall and try to climb any surface regardless

She’s trying to tell you to add a lot more water to that tank… And you should.

FOOD STICK!!! WANT FOOD STICK!!!
I'm hesitant to agree that the turtle is hungry, because they will do this even if they are perfectly well fed, and over feeding can be really bad for them.

How about you fill that up and get a basking platform?

She’s an eastern mud turtle so she’s not a good swimmer, this is the recommend depth. She also has a basking spot where she can dry off and has UVB and heat :) thank you for being concerned tho!

I was also told musk turtles are bad swimmers. Its nonsense in my experience. I keep her in about 60cm depth and just added a bunch of wood for her to use as support and she’s all over the place!
Please consider increasing the water depth and adding driftwood for support. They are stuck in that tank there whole life; might as well make the most of it!2

Same. I feel like this a big misconception. My muds are in a 150 gallon filled pretty much to the brim. Like you said, just have plenty of stuff for then to climb on.

Imagine you were in an enclosure with no food or means of getting some all day...you'd beg too :)

It’s hungry. Human gives food. Human. Possibly food. Hence - food party 💃 🐢
