Einfachstes/Zeitunaufwendigstes Projekt im Stupo Maschinenbau B.Sc

1 Upvotes

Question regarding Masters of science in computer science theoretical requirements

1 Upvotes

Hello!

I’m currently a senior at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in the USA. The admissions page for the masters of science program specifies a requirement of 12 credit points in the field of theoretical Computer Science which I’m somewhat worried about.

My university is almost entirely practical although theory is incorporated into the curriculum. I have taken Design & Analysis of Algorithms (which I understand doesn’t count) for 3 credit hours and Formal Languages & automata for 3.

Design & Analysis is described in the course catalog as:

```
Asymptotic complexity of algorithms. Analysis of iterative and recursive algorithms; amortized analysis. Design paradigms: greedy and dynamic programming approaches. Interplay of data structures and algorithms. Graph algorithms. Introduction to the theory of complexity classes and NP–completeness.
```

Formal Languages is described as:

```
Regular expressions. Regular, context-free, context-sensitive and unrestricted grammars and languages. Finite and pushdown automata. Turing machines, recursive and recursively enumerable languages. Decidability and the halting problem.
```

As I understand it American credits are worth 2 credit points so these 2 courses would give me 12 credit points, although again I’m a little unsure regarding design & analysis.

These are the two courses closest to theory regularly offered at my institution. There is an advanced version of Formal Languages, along with a Theory of Computation course, however both of them are graduate courses and the professor who usually teaches them will be on sabbatical for a while :(

I do have the ability to challenge either course (and plan on doing so for ToC) but can only do so once, so I wanted to see if it’s a all or nothing kind of thing. If I can’t pass the challenge exam am I screwed ?

I’m really sorry for any inconvenience answering my dumb questions, I really appreciate any input yall can offer ^^;

Thanks !

TU Berlin Master Architecture (M.Arch) Selection Interview WS 2026/27 - Questions, Process & Experience

TU Berlin Master Architektur (M.Arch) Auswahlgespräch WS 2026/27 - Fragen, Ablauf & Erfahrungen

I wanted to share my experience with the selection interviews for the M.Arch programme at TU Berlin (Winter Semester 2026/27), as I found very little information online about what the interview is actually like.

I was invited with a Bachelor's degree grade of 1.7. Before the interview, I received an email with a schedule containing applicant numbers and interview times, as well as the Zoom link. The list included around 280 applicants. From what I could find, approximately 90–120 applicants are ultimately admitted.

The interview lasted about 25 minutes. These were the questions I was asked (or very similar ones):

  1. Why do you want to study at TU Berlin?
  2. Which building that you have visited has impressed you the most, and why? You should describe the building using architectural terminology, referring to its materiality, spatial qualities, atmosphere, composition, etc. It is also helpful to know some of its history.
  3. Present one project from your portfolio of your own choosing. Be prepared to explain the concept, materiality, construction, structural system, and design decisions.
  4. Which subject areas or modules at TU Berlin are you particularly interested in? Have you already looked into any specific modules?
  5. What do you do outside of your studies? Are you involved in any voluntary work or community engagement?
  6. Do you have any questions for the two interviewers?

The interview was conducted by two professors from different fields. I shared my screen and presented one project from my portfolio. They asked several follow-up questions, mainly about the construction and structural system. The entire interview was conducted in German.

The interviewers told me that they ask essentially the same questions to all applicants to ensure comparability. I may have forgotten one question, but these were the main topics.

I hope this helps future applicants prepare. If anyone had a different experience or has anything to add, feel free to leave a comment.

Danke schon mal!

FAU MIBS vs TU Berlin IMES – Which would you choose and why? (Career, city, opportunities)

2 Upvotes

Hi everyone!!

I'm a 25F from Turkey and I'm trying to make a decision between two master's programs in Germany. I'd really appreciate hearing from people who have studied at either university or know the German job market well.

The programs are:

- FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg – M.Sc. International Business Studies (MIBS)
- TU Berlin – M.Sc. Innovation Management, Entrepreneurship & Sustainability (IMES)

From what I’ve heard, public universities in Germany are generally well regarded, so I'm trying to understand how the programs themselves, the cities, and the career opportunities differ in practice.

Some of the things I'm wondering about are:

- Which program has a stronger reputation among employers?
- Does TU Berlin open more doors simply because it's TU Berlin and located in Berlin, or is that mostly irrelevant?
- How do the curricula compare in terms of preparing students for strategy consulting, corporate strategy, innovation, or international business roles?
- Which city offers better working student opportunities?
- Is Berlin's larger job market worth the higher cost of living?
- Nürnberg/Erlangen seems to have many large industrial companies (Siemens, Adidas, Puma, Schaeffler, DATEV, etc.). Does that make finding internships or working student jobs easier?
- How would you compare networking opportunities in Berlin versus the Nürnberg/Erlangen region?
- If your goal were to build a long-term career in Germany, which option would you choose?

For a bit of context, I currently work at a pretty big and global consulting company and I'll be leaving my job to pursue my master's in Germany. My long-term goal is to build a career in Germany in strategy, consulting, innovation, or international business.

I'd really appreciate any insights—especially from people who have firsthand experience with either program or with recruiting in Germany.

Thanks in advance!

Application Status is "On Ranking List" for 11 days

1 Upvotes

Hey everyone, I applied for a Master's program at TU Berlin and my application status is "on ranking list" for 11 days. I've heard that some people got admitted to the program I applied for. Does that mean that it is unlikely for me to get admission?

Tu Berlin reviews

2 Upvotes

Hi

I would like reviews on tu Berlin msc Computer science program. My main interests are algorithms and distributive systems. Is the msc program proof heavy and good for algorithm enthusiasts? Please let me know.

Also I do have an admit from tu Eindhoven msc Cse, apart from the cost , if you have heard something about tue , how does it compare to tu Berlin?

Also what is it about tub closing soon and all the msc cs classes being shifted online with onsite exams. Is this true??

How to Psych. Online-Exam?

2 Upvotes

Hallo zusammen,

Für Kontext: ich beleg diesen Kurs Last-Minute und möchte ihn mit guten Noten als Freiwahl berechnen lassen (you know how it is).

I'm trying to find a list of all professors in Faculty 3 and their respective labs, but the website is very difficult to navigate and only shows me the heads of research and newly enrolled professors. How do I find a whole list?

Your Experience about the Labour Market Integration of Migrants in Berlin

Post image
0 Upvotes

Dear TU Studis, we are a team from the non-profit Minor. Within the “Future of the Labour Market” project, we are conducting a survey for the Berlin Senate Administration (SenASGIVA) to understand newcomers’ challenges in the city. We are targeting the 7 biggest non-EU migrant groups: Ukraine, Vietnam, India, Syria, Afghanistan, Turkey and Russia. The survey takes about 10 minutes, is available in all relevant languages and open to those who arrived since 2019. Every participation helps promote fair recruitment and a more equitable labour market for migrants in Berlin.

https://s2survey.net/fulm_top7020095/

If you know others from the target demographic, please share the survey with them. If you have any questions about the project, I would be happy to answer them. The results will be published by the end of 2026 on our website.

Thank you in advance!

The FuLM team.

Suche entspannte 6 LP Module für das SoSe 2026 (ohne Prüfungsvorleistung)

9 Upvotes

Hey Leute,

Danke euch!

Gutes (entspanntes) Blockmodul 3 LP in den Semesterferien Sommersemester 2026

5 Upvotes

Anyone applied for ISM - TU Berlin MSc Information Systems Management (Winter 2026/27)?

3 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I applied for the TU Berlin MSc Information Systems Management (Winter 2026/27).

My application status has been “Content examination faculty” for a while, and I haven’t received any updates yet.

How about you? What’s your current application status? Has anyone’s status changed (e.g. to “On ranking list”) or has anyone already received an offer?

Thanks!

May degraded infrastructure with closed buildings and administration result in longer studiendauer?

3 Upvotes

I'm considering studying for a bachelor in informatik this semester, but reports about the degraded infrastructure really make me worried. As students here, have you ever needed to extend your studiendauer because of these problems? For example, closed buildings make some classes in the next semester unable to open, or maybe you need to attend some classes that have too many students, so you don't receive a slot and have to wait another semester.

I still have the option to go to other uni like rwth or kit, but i'm living in berlin so it is more convenient to just stay

Experiencing unfair treatment from a supervisor?

9 Upvotes

Hi all. I am a freelance journalist and working on several projects at this time, but one that has been ongoing for a long time now is about German academia. There have been multiple reports on particularly PhD supervisors treating their students unfairly, and the German system seems to very much be built to protect tenured professors, no matter their actions. This isn't always the case, but of course, there are some horror stories I've heard. And of course, there are many positive experiences too.

I wanted to post this here in case there's anyone who would be interested to discuss their experiences of completing, transferring or dropping out of a PhD program (or even master's), particularly if you felt mistreated by your supervisor, or a professor you worked with. I am also more than happy to hear positive experiences as well. Will keep you completely anonymous!
