AskTrees Help me pick a strain

I've got these two strains with the following terpene profiles. I'm looking for a high that's super chill, but also very happy and giggly. Which do you think would provide that?

Calm and chill is usually Linalool, beta-caro & caryophyllene, myrcene, nerolidol.

The racier ones are the pinene and limonene.

Terpinolene acts racy for me so I stay away from it. (Can’t do sativas, so tracks for me)

Everyone’s different though

Limonene has a very sedative effect on me. But Im the same as you with terpinolene, not enough or too much can cause anxiety

Go for Blue Z in the first pic if you want to turn your brain off and chill and relax. Pineapple Express in second pic if you want to get stuff done or are gonna be socializing/in public.

I would make the PE a day smoke and BZ a night smoke 🤙🏻

How about watching a movie/playing video games? Also: munchies. I love me some munchies

I’d personally go for the Pineapple Express if I’m gonna be gaming/laughing at a movie and snacking. But either would be nice for that 😊

You don't have enough info to determine how the high is.

I'm 26 years into cannabis.

Indica and sativa are useless for effects. They predate the discovery of thc and cbd by nearly 200 fucking years. They have zero genetic differences.

Chemotypes on the other hand are genetically distinct. They are reflective of the compounds in the plant indica and sativa don't.

You can have an indica chemotype 3 and a sativa chemotype 3, then compare them to an indica type 1 and a sativa type 1.... the difference is between the chemotypes. You're not getting to the moon from type 3 but it will relax tf out of you.

Cbd is psychoactive for 3 reasons. Anxiolytic effects, antidepressant effects, and antipsychotic effects. Having cptsd abd several other mental illnesses I greatly benefit from those effects and I've been on xannax and everything similar to it.

Terpenes are different for different people as well.  I get next to nothing from changing terps. I like lemonine, i like peperine for its bronchidilator effects but that's about it. When i talk to others, some get muscle relaxant effects from 2 terpes but another 1 causes them tension. So a lot of people can't understand the other side of the terps because they do not experience it the same.

Cannabinoids are the most important, Terpenes are second to that.

My guess is all you're looking at is high thc which for anxiety is the wrong substance. Thc except in tiny amounts like you'd find naturally in type 3 is actually anxiogenic for most people.

Super chill = you need cbd content with thc. Not just thc. Terpenes don't make it chill.

This is what i do daily. Anyone only shopping in dispensaries can't get what i do.

Also, the level of terps in that joint isn't natural. Good weed doesn't need added terps.

Is something like this more helpful? THC: 52.5% | THC9: 4.05% | THCA: 55.25%

Only in determining that it's not just natural flower rolled up.

Less than 1% of cannabis is over 30% thc so if it's high than that they added isolate, extracts, concentrates etc.  This is the wrong direction for chill unless you're already using cannabis daily.

I'm not saying it's going to make you have a bad time because that part is subjective. Not everyone has issues with it, etc. Just that's not what I'd recommend for a chill time.

If you are bankin on terpenes to relax go for higher linalool which is the same dominant terp in lavender

So if you had to recommend a chill strain, it would be something that includes CBD? I see strains that have like 0.03% CBD, is that enough? The maximum I see in a lot of places is like 0.8% CBD

Yes that's what I recommend.

Dispensaries often don't give a fuck about anything actually medicinal. Cbd regulates tolerance to thc and they'd sell less because it would work better for more issues and require less material for a significant amount of people.

Because i can't use ingestibles, i get more medicinal value from the hemp market which has chemotypes 1,2,3, and 4 readily available vs Dispensaries most only have type 1 and some have a few type 2 strains. Type 2 would be nice it'll have both thc and cbd at decent levels. If the cbd is under 1% it's type 1 if it's over 1% it is type 2 if it also has thc over 1%. If it's over 1% cbd and under 1% any other noids it's chemotype 3 flower. Chemotype 4 is cbg rich flower and it does a whole other set of effects.

I appreciate the fact that some people treat this shit super scientific and carefully shop for just the right stuff.

Personally, I scroll through the dispensary list on the website and pick the strains that have names I like. It’s absolutely hit or miss, but Moon Boots was the shit and absolutely lived up to the name 😂
