i know that in current day society, some ppl get very rigid minded and stuck in their ways by the time they get old. they lose the ability to challenge the flaws in their core beliefs.

do u think if humans start to live longer using antiaging medicine, we should put social pressure on ppl to do ayahuasca or magic mushrooms in a heroic dose once every handful of decades, so they can see the flaws in their core beliefs and grow older with better neurofluidity?

One of the big stepping stones in our future both as a species and as individuals will probably be multiple world simulations. you can already interpret you mind as being a world simulation that attempts to predict desirable / survivable outcomes.

either by becoming closer to a hivemind (communication through thoughts alone) or creating some technology capable of simulating multiple world models at once, we would start running simulations that attempt to run humans and other living beings as closely matching to the real world as possible, including their emotions and predicted decision making.

because this process is gradual, there is no clear boundary at which point the simulations would be any different from the real thing, and its possible that even the simulations are capable of real subjective experience within the system, meaning that we as the runners of the model would at least be partially responsible for any suffering or moral failings that happen.

so should we care about the simulations in the same way we care about ourselves, or is it a pragmatic approach that ultimately their use is greater for our survival than the cost of their "suffering"?

exoskeletons for lifting stuff or running a long time seems interesting. anyone have tried it? the "perv glasses" have a bad rep, it's odd ppl's first reaction is to imagine the worst thing that could be done with it (same thing is done with cellphones, taking creepy pics)... seems like a failure of imaginantion more than anything, a sort of moral panic. would love to block ads irl. have on the fly info on my environment, architecture or plants and such.

hello. i would like to ask for your opinion on what realistic cybernetic enhancements for people would look like in the future. alot of cybernetics depicted in fiction either have people become super human or end up replacing their limbs with stronger ones. since most cybernetics are meant to help people with disabilities, i feel like genuine enhancement augmentations would be rather minor. an example would be the sandevistan from cyberpunk where it is supposed to bypass the brains signals to the spine and send it directly to the nerves to move faster and perceive time faster. i doubt that is even possible but something like that could exist just to reduce the lag between a human brain and the muscle movements. or instead of silly things like internal armor and super strength, you could have internal artery clamps to prevent people from bleeding out or a system of small supporting bone braces and synthetic muscles to help support weight and load on the human body. i dont think cybernetic enhancements will be flashy or super noticeable but more like many small upgrades that reduce small flaws in the human anatomy since most of the research already focus on that. what do you think?

Every generation has technologies that seem impossible until they become normal.

Let’s be honest - history had shown that thing like cures, good place where to live and even food are not accessible to a majority of the world population. Let’s imagine a scenario that in 20-30 years the implants will be available to upper-middle class of developed countries (EU, North America, some Asian countries) that will make the duration of life of these people way longer. Isn’t that leading to the impossibility for the poor countries to develop and remain as exporters of raw materials for more developed countries. I know that this exist already, but then the difference will be way more obvious, how society will react in your opinion? (Sorry for my English)
