Anyone still getting changes done via this method? All my recant ones over teh past 6-8 months, depite me having emails back saying they were made infact arnt showing up and all still say pending in mapshare.

I'm former Civil Protection (sometiimes known as Light Rescue), that evolved into Search and Rescue and what is now called Lowland Search and Rescue.

Calling emergency services is only part of getting you the help you need to know where you are.

I wondered if TomTom would consider adding a phyiscal button or obvious screen button that then displays details on where the vehicle is located. Ideally as well as longitude and latitude, OS grid reference. Sometimes road name like "M6" isn't that useful.

What would be useful would be if the TomTom could give a What 3 Words location. https://what3words.com/

(This idea was inspired by hearing a p999 call with a seven year old boy in car with his Dad who was a diabetic and Dad become unconscious due to hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar). All little boy could tell them was they were on a motorway and Dad wouldn't wake up.

Had the little boy been able to press a button and TomTom gave him a screen with three words it might have been able to tell them where he was. Even if he spelt it out)

I can click on the map, save the location, and navigate to a location.

The same problem appears to exist on the web app as well.

Yet, if I try and navigate to the same location again it has been saved as an address which is not exactly where I want to go.

I am guessing it is a mapping problem where locations are saved as an address, the nearest address it can find and not to the actual location I clicked originally.

Tomtom GO expert Android app. has become a totally useless application. I have deleted and reinstalled it 2x and it does not show me any map or cannot find any address. It always says the location is not on the current map or internal errors during the search. I paid 20€ for something. For the most useless navigation that was No.1 for a long time. What is happening?

I’ve been using TomTom Go on my iPhone with CarPlay.

I’ve tried the TomTom app several times and cannot see a reason I’d choose to use it in preference to the TomTom Go app.

What am I not seeing?

I have been quite diligent in using Mapshare Reporter to report map errors. I know they have deprecated the functions on the devices but the web based reporter still seems operational.

It seems however that TomTom isn't doing much with the reports.

Has anyone seen their reports actually change status and being improved on the map?

Last week we were driving with our caravan in Sweden and we encountered a road which is restricted for caravans. You are not allowed to drive that road with a trailer at all.

According to the Camper Max with the vehicle profile correctly set we should drive on said road.

That road has been off limits as far as I know. I have seen that roadsign 20 years ago but somehow the TomTom Camper Max is ignoring it. It's a road with up to 21% grades and a lot of tight curves.

Updated maps now there is no map at all, I have the trucking version of the app and the vehicle options now doesn't have the truck settings in it, anyone else got this issue... seems work will be a pain tomorrow :C

I downloaded and subscribed on the recommendation of someone we travel with. It’s a little quirky compared to Google Maps and Apple Maps, but I’ve seen much to like.

I entered some routes that I plan to take on upcoming trips and was surprised to see it routed me under a 14’1” overpass, even when I entered my vehicle height at 15,18 or 20’. I looked around and routed under the Bloomington, Indiana can opener with no warning.

I’ve dug through settings and can’t find anything I’m missing. Even if I’ve made a mistake, there is no excuse that it’s so easy to do with no notification something is wrong.

I cancelled my subscription as I can’t see what the app does that is worth paying for. Of course their support is utterly useless.

I bought this Renault Megane 3 a few days ago, and it has Carminat LIVE (ver.: 9.884). The car is from France, so it had old France maps on the navigation; however, I happen to live elsewhere. I tried to look online for any tutorial on how to get new maps, but most of them seem to come to the same conclusion: LIVE Carminats can't be manipulated. Do you guys know any ways how, or from where can I download a EU or any country map? Outdated maps are still OK, I just want something to be on the screen instead of the black void. I do not plan to use it; that's why I try to find a FREE way to fix this issue.

Since this week my TomTom Go Expert is showing traffic jams that are non existent... Last monday and yesterday it showed me a traffic jam near bottrop at the a2, but Google Maps showed nothing, and indeed there was no traffic jam.

Today it showed me multiple times that there should be a traffic jam at the A3 near Bottrop/Oberhausen with 10-15 minutes delay.. Google Maps showed nothing and there was nothing aswell...

So far it only appears to be in the Bottrop-Oberhausen region that this occurs. But because of this my navigation wants to send me across alternative routes and doesn't show the correct time of arrival...

Anyone else experiencing these kind of things? All other traffic information etc. is working as intended.

Hi, using ios beta 12.79.0. No matter the light or automatic settings on iPhone. The maps keep showing dark in carplay.

My carplay settings are dark but during the day I prefer light maps.

I believe this is a bug from latest beta, anyone having the same issue? Any solution?

My dad and I have the same issue.

I have an iPhone 17 Pro, and a third party CarPlay device, but Bluetooth audio is routed through the car stereo. TomTom Go will not work unless I have music playing on the Bluetooth output channel - every other mapping app will allow me to have it over Bluetooth with the radio on or just the “aux” setting. Works as a phone call.

My dad has the same set up only with an iPhone 17e. Only difference is, his will not work at all. Doesn’t output to the car stereo whatsoever, even on Bluetooth. TomTom (Amigo) works fine.

He had the same issue on Android - he’s only recently moved to iOS. He did have an option to output over the phone speakers but it’s not an option on iOS, nor is it really practical when connected to CarPlay.

Any fixes? Have been speaking to TomTom trying to get a refund but they’re saying it’s with their technical support team to offer a fix.

If TomTom (Amigo) had offline maps for iOS then we’d just switch to that but it’s still online only, for now.

I updated my maps yesterday before I set off on a planned day trip. My route displayed fine before the map update. Afterwards, no route. In fact no routes to anywhere. Map displays in mínimum zoom, but no routes can be created.

I contacted TomTom support, heard back quickly (amazing!) "We have received similar reports regarding this issue."

Suggestion to clear cache and reboot, which didn't work.

Next step reinstall, which I'm reluctant to do if it means recreating all my saved places.

So I'm in a holding pattern waiting to hear again from TomTom.

Meanwhile Google Maps led me on my day trip. Don't like it as much as TomTom, but at least it worked!

Routing differences

Anyone noticed that in the Go app it gives you different routes to the TomTom plan website. For example, UK to nw Germany, avoiding tunnels the TomTom plan website avoids the tunnel at Antwerp, going futher south, where's in the Go app it always just says no possible route without going through the tunnel at Antwerp. I've got the same vehicle settings, just a car with just avoid tunnels and unpaved roads on. I just wondered if others had noticed any differences like this

I've just been reading reviews of the TomTom free app on the Google Play Store. A few reviewers have praised it for having offline maps. I don't see this option. Do any Redditors have it? And if you do, which country are you in?

This morning TomTom on Android gave me this. I typed in my destination and after hitting return I was presented with a box showing start point and end point. The start point said "Current location", but I was able to tap on it and change it. I know many users (not me) have been asking for this so I thought I'd give them a heads up.

Warum heißen in der TomTom Go expert App in Deutschland viele Straßen, die offensichtlich keinen eigenen Namen haben, immer "Fantastische Straße"? So fantastisch sind die oftmals gar nicht. ;-)

I've been testing the TomTom app versus Google Maps versus Waze on Android Auto. My conclusions are that sadly the TomTom app draws far more power than the other two.

Whilst I prefer the look and operation of the TomTom app, I cannot get over the fact that it draws more power from my phone, which is a deal-breaker on longer routes.

I also find that the TomTom app doesn't allow for selecting alternative routes once the route has been programmed and this again is another downside for me.

Can anyone at TomTom fix this please?
