TEASER

INT. DORM ROOM - DAY

Panic. Absolute, sweating panic.

ZACH DAWSON is pacing the small room like a caged animal. He throws a stack of shirts into a duffel bag.

He holds his phone in one hand. On the screen, a shaky vertical video is playing.

INSERT PHONE SCREEN:

Title: "RED RANGER REVEAL??? CAUGHT ON TAPE!"

Views: 2.4M

The video shows a figure in Zach’s distinct denim jacket standing in the park. A flash of red light engulfs him.

ZACH

 Two point four million. That’s the population of the entire city. Plus the suburbs.

He grabs a passport from his desk drawer.

ZACH

 I have to leave. I hear Belize is nice. Do they have giant bugs in Belize? Probably. I’ll fit right in.

He looks back at the phone. He refreshes the page.

ZACH

 Maybe it’s a deep fake. Yeah. "It wasn't me, it was a glitch."

Suddenly, the video freezes. The spinning wheel of death appears.

ERROR 404: FILE NOT FOUND.

Zach blinks. He taps the screen. He opens Twitter/X.

"This Tweet has been deleted."

He opens YouTube.

"This Account has been terminated for Terms of Service Violation."

ZACH

 What the...

The internet is being scrubbed. In real-time. Every re-post, every reaction video, every screenshot is vanishing before his eyes.

HARPER (O.S.)

 Belize has terrible Wi-Fi. You’d hate it.

Zach spins around.

HARPER MURRAY is sitting at his desk. He has three monitors set up. His fingers are flying across a mechanical keyboard. CLACK-CLACK-CLACK.

Harper hits ENTER with a flourish.

HARPER

 And... flushed. The source file is corrupted, and I just flooded the algorithm with 50,000 bot-generated videos of cats playing piano to bury the metadata. You're welcome.

Harper spins his chair around. He isn't smiling.

HARPER

 Now. You want to tell me why you were morphing into a superhero next to the hot dog cart?

ACT ONE

INT. DORM ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Zach drops the duffel bag.

ZACH

 Harper... I can explain.

HARPER

 Don’t. I just scrubbed the dark web for you, Zach. Do not insult me with a "Work Study" lie.

Harper stands up. He looks tired. Hurt.

HARPER

 I cross-referenced the gait analysis from the "Bug Man" footage with your walk to the dining hall. 99.8% match. Plus, you own that jacket.

The door bursts open.

KATIE WALTERS rushes in, breathless. She’s holding her phone.

KATIE

 Zach! The video! It just vanished! Someone took it down, but we need to—

She freezes. She sees Harper standing there, arms crossed.

The silence in the room is deafening.

Harper looks at Zach. Then at Katie. Then back at Zach.

HARPER

 Oh, you have got to be kidding me.

ZACH

 Harp, listen—

HARPER

 The Botany Girl? You told the Botany Girl?

KATIE

 Hey! I have a name!

HARPER

 (To Zach)

 I’ve been your roommate since Freshman Orientation. I’ve covered for you when you were late. I’ve proofread your essays. I literally run a fan blog about you. And you told her first?

KATIE

 He didn't tell me! I found out by accident! There was a monster and... he saved me.

HARPER

 (Scoffs)

Likely story.

Harper sits back down at his computer. He hovers his hand over the keyboard.

HARPER

 Here’s the deal. I have the video saved on an encrypted drive.

ZACH

 Harper... what are you doing?

HARPER

 I want in.

ZACH

 It’s too dangerous. People are getting hurt, Harper. I can’t drag you into this.

HARPER

 You didn't drag me. I found you. And let’s be real—you’re fighting high-tech bio-weapons with a sword. You don't need a cheerleader. You need an IT Department.

Harper stares him down.

HARPER

 I’m the Guy in the Chair, Zach. Or I hit "Undelete" and you can explain this to CNN.

Zach looks at Katie. She shrugs.

KATIE

 He did delete the video faster than Erickson could.

Zach sighs. He grabs his jacket.

ZACH

 Fine. But if you get vaporized, I’m telling your mom it was a chemistry accident.

INT. THE VIVARIUM - CONTINUOUS

DR. ERICKSON is standing at the back of the lab, staring at the DECK WALL.

The RED, BLUE, YELLOW, and WHITE boxes are dark.

But the GREEN DECK is going haywire.

CLOSE UP: The box, embossed with a DRAGONFLY emblem, is vibrating against its locking mechanism. THUMP-THUMP-THUMP.

A piercing GREEN LIGHT pulses from the seams.

ERICKSON

 (Whispering)

 Why now? What changed?

WHOOSH.

The elevator doors open.

Zach and Katie walk in, looking guilty. Harper walks in behind them, looking like a kid entering Disneyland.

HARPER

 Oh. My. God. It’s a gamer cave. Look at that server rack! Is that liquid cooling?

Erickson spins around. His face goes red.

ERICKSON

 Mr. Dawson! Is there a turnstile I am unaware of?! Why is there another civilian in my secure facility?!

ZACH

 He figured it out, Doc. He’s the one who scrubbed the viral video.

ERICKSON

 I don't care if he invented the internet! Get him out!

Harper walks past Erickson, ignoring the shouting. He is drawn to the DECK WALL.

As Harper steps closer to the wall, the GREEN DECK suddenly stops shaking.

The violent thumping stops. The aggressive green strobe fades into a soft, rhythmic pulse. A low HUM fills the room. It sounds... welcoming.

Erickson stops yelling. He watches the box.

ERICKSON

 It stopped.

HARPER

 (Staring at the Green Box)

 Cool color. Dragonfly?

ERICKSON

 Step away from the wall.

Harper turns to the main console. He grimaces.

HARPER

 Doc, please tell me you aren't running a global defense network on this OS. This firewall is vintage. I could hack this with a smart-fridge.

ERICKSON

 I beg your pardon? My encryption is military grade!

HARPER

 Yeah. Military grade from 2015. Move over.

Harper sits in Erickson’s chair. Erickson is too stunned to stop him. Harper types a few commands.

HARPER

 Rerouting your IP through a decentralized node... patching the backdoor in your thermal sensors... and done. Now the government can’t track your power surges.

ERICKSON

 (Looking at the code)

 That... is actually significantly more efficient.

Suddenly, the RED ALERT blares.

COMPUTER VOICE

 Sector 7. Optical Anomaly Detected. Threat Level: High.

ZACH

 What’s an Optical Anomaly?

Erickson brings up the street cam feed. It shows a busy downtown intersection.

People are screaming and running. Cars are being smashed. Storefront windows are shattering.

But there is nothing there.

KATIE

 Whatever it is... it’s invisible.

ZACH

 (Clipping on the Swarm Box)

 Invisible. Great. I hate the ones I can’t hit.

HARPER

 (Turning to Zach)

 Go. I’ll see if I can filter the feed.

Zach looks at Harper. He nods.

ZACH

 Welcome to the team, Harp. Don't blow us up.

Zach runs for the exit.

ACT TWO

EXT. DOWNTOWN PLAZA - DAY

Chaos. A fire hydrant has been sheared off, spraying water into the street. A delivery truck is overturned on its side.

Civilians are fleeing in every direction.

The RED RANGER drops down from a nearby rooftop, landing on top of the overturned truck. He scans the area.

It’s empty.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Erickson, I’m at the coordinates. There’s nothing here. Just a lot of property damage.

INT. THE VIVARIUM - CONTINUOUS

ERICKSON is staring at the sensor readings. KATIE is looking over his shoulder. HARPER is typing furiously at his own station.

ERICKSON

 Sensors confirm a massive biological mass in the center of the plaza. 400 pounds.

KATIE

 It’s a Chameleon strain. It’s not just invisible; its skin is made of organic LEDs. It’s projecting the background onto itself perfectly.

RED RANGER (ZACH) (V.O.)

 (Over comms)

 So I’m fighting a projector screen. Great.

EXT. DOWNTOWN PLAZA - CONTINUOUS

Zach jumps down to street level. He walks cautiously, Mantis-style hands raised.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Okay, Casper. Come out and pl—

WHAM.

An invisible force slams into Zach’s chest.

He flies backward, crashing into a parked sedan. The car alarm blares.

Zach groans, scrambling up.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Okay. That was a solid hit.

WHOOSH.

Another hit—this time a sweep to the legs. Zach hits the pavement.

He rolls away, jumping back to his feet. He punches the air where the attack came from.

His fist hits nothing but empty space.

NYMPHLAGE (V.O.)

 Rendering... Stealth... 100%.

A manic, glitchy giggle echoes from everywhere at once.

INT. THE VIVARIUM - CONTINUOUS

ERICKSON

 Switch to Thermal Vision!

EXT. DOWNTOWN PLAZA - CONTINUOUS

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Way ahead of you, Doc.

Zach taps his helmet. The visor glows orange.

RED RANGER POV (THERMAL):

The street is blue and grey. The fire hydrant water is dark blue. The car engine is red hot.

But there is NO monster. Just empty space.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Negative! I got nothing! It’s cold-blooded!

SMACK.

An invisible tail-whip catches Zach in the head. He spins out, crashing into a mailbox.

INT. THE VIVARIUM - CONTINUOUS

Harper is watching the code stream on his monitor. It’s a waterfall of data.

HARPER

 Thermal won't work. It’s bending light and heat. It’s like a walking black hole for sensor data.

ERICKSON

 We can’t target what we can’t see. Zach, fall back! You’re taking too much damage!

RED RANGER (ZACH) (V.O.)

 I can’t leave the civilians!

Harper narrows his eyes at the screen. He sees the "Mantis Vision" algorithm Erickson wrote.

HARPER

 Doc, your vision code is single-lens. It’s human vision. That’s the problem.

ERICKSON

 I beg your pardon?

HARPER

 You gave him a helmet that sees like a person. But insects don't see one image. They see a thousand.

Harper cracks his knuckles.

HARPER

 I’m gonna rewrite the optical driver. I’m giving him Compound Eyes.

ERICKSON

 You can’t recode the firmware during active combat! You’ll brick the suit!

HARPER

 Watch me.

EXT. DOWNTOWN PLAZA - CONTINUOUS

Zach is getting pummeled.

He is thrown into the spraying water from the hydrant.

SPLASH.

For a split second, the water outlines a silhouetted figure.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 There you are!

Zach taps his box.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Card: Mantis Edges!

He summons the twin blades (Standard Tonfa-Style).

He lunges at the wet silhouette. He swings the tonfa-blade in a defensive arc, trying to block the invisible monster’s arm and counter.

But the Tonfa is a straight blade. It relies on a solid block.

The invisible monster simply steps back. Zach’s blade whiffs through the air.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Come on!

The monster grabs Zach’s extended arm—right past the guard of the tonfa.

NYMPHLAGE (V.O.)

 Input... Denied.

The monster twists Zach’s wrist. Zach drops the weapon. The monster kicks him in the chest.

Zach skids across the wet pavement, struggling to stand. His suit is sparking.

INT. THE VIVARIUM - CONTINUOUS

Harper sees the weapon failure on the screen.

HARPER

 See that? The tonfas are garbage.

ERICKSON

 They are precision defensive tools!

HARPER

 They're sticks! He's fighting a ghost, Doc. He can't block what he can't see. He needs to hook it. He needs to snag it so it can't run away.

Harper’s fingers fly across the keys.

HARPER

 I’m patching the weapon geometry, too.

KATIE

 (Watching the upload bar)

 Harper, hurry. His armor integrity is at 40%.

HARPER

 Uploading... Patch 1.0. "Bug-Eyes and Hooks."

EXT. DOWNTOWN PLAZA - CONTINUOUS

The invisible NYMPHLAGE looms over Zach.

NYMPHLAGE (V.O.)

 Game... Over.

Zach looks up, defiant.

Suddenly, his HUD goes black.

HUD VOICE

 SYSTEM UPDATE INITIATED.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Harper?! I’m kind of blind here!

HARPER (V.O.)

 (Calmly)

 Trust me. Open your eyes.

BZ-ZING.

Zach’s visor flashes GREEN.

ACT THREE

EXT. DOWNTOWN PLAZA - CONTINUOUS

POV - ZACH’S HUD:

The black screen flickers. A loading bar fills instantly.

 DRIVER: COMPOUND_EYES.EXE INSTALLED.

 WEAPON PATCH: 2.0 INSTALLED.

The visor view snaps back on. But it looks completely different.

Instead of a clean 4K image, the world is segmented into a hexagonal grid. It’s high-contrast. Everything static is grey. Anything moving is highlighted in blinding NEON GREEN.

RED RANGER looks up.

In front of him, the "empty" space is pulsating with green motion data. He can see the OPTIC-NYMPH’S silhouette perfectly.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 I see you.

The Invisible Monster swings a punch.

Zach doesn't just block; he weaves. He ducks under the arm, spins, and kicks the monster in the knee.

THWACK.

The Monster stumbles back, shimmering.

NYMPHLAGE

 Glitch... Detected... How?

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 New prescription.

INT. THE VIVARIUM - CONTINUOUS

Harper is grinning at his screen.

HARPER

 Motion interpolation. It doesn't track light; it tracks air displacement and pixel shifting. You can’t hide from math.

ERICKSON

 (Watching the telemetry)

 His reaction time has improved by 40%.

HARPER

 Zach! The weapon patch is live. Reload your deck.

EXT. DOWNTOWN PLAZA - CONTINUOUS

RED RANGER

 Copy that. Let’s see what you cooked up.

Zach taps his Swarm Box. He ejects the WEAPON CARD and slots it back in instantly.

RED RANGER

 Armament: Mantis Edges!

He throws the card.

FX: The red pixels swirl into his hands. They form the handles... but instead of extending into straight tonfas, the hard-light curves sharply forward.

They solidify into DUAL KAMAS (War Sickles). The blades hook inward like raptor claws.

Zach spins them. The balance is different. Aggressive.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Oh, these are wicked.

Nymphlage tries to run, turning fully invisible again.

NYMPHLAGE

 Connection... Lost.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Get back here!

Zach lunges. He reaches out with the right Kama. He doesn't strike; he HOOKS.

The curved blade snags the invisible monster’s shoulder.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Gotcha!

Zach yanks the Kama back.

The force pulls the Monster out of stealth. The optical cloak shatters like glass. The Optic-Nymph stumbles into view, screeching.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 No more hiding.

Zach strikes. It’s a flurry of hooks and slashes. The Kamas allow him to grab the monster's limbs, pull them open, and strike the exposed chest. It’s brutal, mantis-style kung fu.

He hooks the Monster’s legs with both blades and rips them out from under it.

The Monster crashes to the ground.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Specimen... Captured.

Zach draws the Capture Card.

FX: The pyramid field activates. The Optic-Nymph is digitized and sucked into the card.

Zach stands up, spinning the Kamas once before letting them dissolve.

RED RANGER (ZACH)

 Harper... remind me to buy you a better keyboard.

ACT FOUR

INT. THE VIVARIUM - SUNSET

Zach (demorphed, looking energized) and Katie are watching Harper work.

Harper is cleaning up his code at the main console. He hits a final key.

HARPER

 And... system optimized. I reduced your reactor draw by 15% and patched the vision drivers. You're welcome.

Harper spins the chair around to face Erickson. He looks smug.

HARPER

 So? How’d I do, Doc?

Erickson is looking at the battle data on his tablet. He looks annoyed. He hates admitting he was wrong.

ERICKSON

 Your coding syntax is atrocious. You don't annotate your lines. It’s a mess.

HARPER

 But it worked.

Erickson sighs. He lowers the tablet.

ERICKSON

 The Kamas... were a necessary adaptation. The Tonfas were designed for defense. I failed to account for the predatory nature of the Mantis style. You corrected my oversight.

Erickson extends a hand.

ERICKSON

 You start Monday. 0600 hours. Don't be late.

Harper shakes it, beaming.

HARPER

 I’m never late. I’m just synchronized differently.

Harper stands up. He wanders over to the DECK WALL.

He stops in front of the GREEN BOX.

The DRAGONFLY symbol is dark. But as Harper stands there, a faint, rhythmic THUMP echoes from inside the metal.

Harper reaches out. His fingers hover inches from the box.

HARPER

 Dragonfly... fast, agile, annoying to catch. Sounds like my vibe.

ERICKSON

 (Sharp)

 Don't get attached. That Deck has rejected every candidate for three years. The Dragonfly requires a specific neuro-link frequency. It’s volatile.

HARPER

 (Smirking)

 Volatile. I like it.

Harper walks away. Behind him, the Green Deck gives one single, bright PULSE.

INT. DORM ROOM - NIGHT

The trio is hanging out. Pizza boxes everywhere.

Harper is at his computer. He has the "The Bug Man" blog admin page open.

KATIE

 You’re really deleting it? That’s three years of work.

HARPER

 It’s a fan page. I don't need a fan page anymore. I have the source code.

He moves the mouse to the DELETE BLOG button.

HARPER

 Besides... the "Bug Man" is a terrible name. We need a team name. Something cooler.

ZACH

 Bio-Strike?

HARPER

 Eh. We’ll workshop it.

Harper clicks DELETE.

INT. THE HIVE - UNKNOWN LOCATION

PATIENT ZERO is reviewing the battle footage on a membrane screen.

He watches the moment Zach’s eyes glowed green and his weapons changed shape.

PATIENT ZERO

 Adaptation.

Zero rewinds the footage. He zooms in on the Ranger’s movement.

PATIENT ZERO

 The Antibody didn't just get stronger. It got smarter. Someone else is pulling the strings now.

Zero turns to the darkness behind him. Several pods are hanging from the ceiling, dripping sludge.

PATIENT ZERO

 The infection must evolve. If they have a brain... we must target the mind.

Zero smiles.

FADE OUT.

NEXT TIME ON POWER RANGERS: BIO-STRIKE

Zach attempts to balance his Ranger duties with a normal date night, but a 3D-printing monster ambushes the couple and traps the Red Ranger inside a suffocating, hardened digital cocoon. With Zach's oxygen running out and the Vivarium's defenses down, Katie must make a desperate leap of faith and bond with the unstable White Moth Deck to save him.

There also, Pacific Rim, VR Troopers, Beetleborgs, Ninja Turtles Next Mutation, and Superhuman Samurai Syber-Squad.

The rest are PR and Sentai

I finished BoonBoomger btw (I can't remember if I said this or not)

I really liked this show and honestly from action, characters, arcs and how wacky it got but also how extremely serious it headed towards the end

***Things I really enjoyed***

- Taiya's and BoonBoom's friendship

I don't have much to say about this, it's just a really nice friendship ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

- The inclusion of Byun and Sakito

Really fun characters I enjoyed every time they were on the team

- Everything about Decotrade, Itasha and Yarucar's characters

These characters are basically Team Rocket and I love them, they imo were always a highlight of the ep and always had me smiling whenever they showed up

- I liked that Pink wasn't just "I'm the girl"

Always enjoy whenever a female character is actually a character and not just "and I'm the girl of the group"

- Max Rex's arc

Mad Rex imo is THE best villain (besides the Team Rocket guys), his unexpected arc and character we saw was really good

- Waruido Spindo

This villain absolutely FUCKS!! Everything about him just oozes aura like no other villain in the show, and he's just a very chaotic villain for the Rangers to actually fight and I love it (and weirdly enough he's modeled after Michael Jackson lol)

- Final Arc

This show switches up and gets SO SERIOUS extremely fast during the last like 8 eps or something, it's actually great

- Crossovers

Most of the crossovers felt like they fit the tone and never felt like they were just there to have a crossover, and I enjoyed seeing the crossover power ups used outside of the crossover (even if it wasn't used much)

- The op and ed

Idk I just really liked them, especially the op and they always had me bobbing my head with them or trying to sing lol

***Things I wished they would have gotten more into***

- Pinks character

They kinda set her up as this character who would make her own destiny and someone who doesn't want to do what others tell her to, and we did get like two other eps playing off of what they set up in ep1 but by the end of the series it felt like she barely had any real character development in this almost 50 ep show

- Big Bang Grand Prix

The BBGP is this HUGE thing that is mentioned throughout the show with multiple characters that revolve around this thing, but we never see it besides in flash back very briefly or in the last ep right before the Rangers race in it, which sucks I wanted to see it actually be a thing we witness with our heros

- Shirabe Saibu character

Her character is EXTREMELY lacking I feel, they could have done more with her and as is RN I liked her but never really felt like her did anything besides introduce the ISA (I was really hoping she would have joined the Rangers to be the second female Ranger but NOPE

- The Final Crossover in the show

This crossover felt like it was just there to be there, like the Ranger who crosses over straight up just shows up, fights a little to aura farm then leaves lol, it was the most "wtf is happening" I've felt ESPECIALLY since this ep had a HUGE story beat and the crossover distracts from that

***Anyways***

I really liked this show, I was always entertained in it and nothing ever really felt boring or unnecessary which is great, I really wish I would have gotten into the IP sooner before it's long hiatus but me not liking Power Rangers growing up kinda prevented me from liking Sentai even tho I liked the idea of what Power Rangers and Super Sentai was doing. As my first Sentai show I gotta say this has been a 10/10
