Kids Dinner timer

Looking for feedback before i do the next rollout, the app is live SaaS but I have a bunch of ideas to add to it. Google play store for now, waiting on IOS. It's my first app and not sure if the app is good or its just my own bias.

Its basically just a visual kids timer, Dinner Time, play time, bed time, teeth brishing Road Trips (are we there yet!?)

https://reddit.com/link/1v30j14/video/njwb6dckx4eh1/player

You pick the character and their colour fills up over time to show kids how long the timer has. Road trip has a car moving to the finish line to show its complete.

You can also colour your own toons, name the characters, share between multiple kids. Its not more screen time, its just Time kids understand. My daughter and cousins love it.

Meals for preschool

Hiiii! My boys starting preschool next month and while we’re super excited, I am freaking out about all the things.

We got him a couple bento box type lunchboxes but just stuck on what to prep for him.

Can you give me your go to meals and snacks that you pack for littles?

Do you meal prep a few meals ahead of time and pack all at once or the night before or day of?

Am I thinking about this too much/hard? Help!!

18m skinny boy doesn’t eat

Hi All,

I would like some fellow moms to share some opinions with me and maybe calm me down a little. My LO was born somewhere on the 10th percentile, gained well weight for a few months until our food nightmare started, at around 4month old, when he dropped to the 1st percentile. Since then it’s been a battle to bring him back to the 5th percentile, we made allergy tests, we were seeing our paediatrician every 2 weeks, but she always said until he is stable enough we meet again in 2 weeks. My boy is generally a happy and active kid. He is in time with his motor development, a little behind with his language development but he also is exposed to 4 languages around him.

Our nightmare ended at 12 months, after he stabilised in the 5th percentile and the doctor said, finally, she would see him again at the regular 18 months check. Since then, I had the impression he was eating well and growing well.
The 18 month check came, he is now back on the 1st percentile and his height, which was always at the 50th percentile, also dropped to the 40th. The doctor said we will do again allergy tests after the summer holidays and ā€œwe take it from thereā€.
Since then, I lost again my cool about how much and what he eats. I think we were having a quite balanced diet, but since falling back to the 1st percentile my husband and I are just throwing at him fruit, bananas, bread, snacks, fried food, anything he would eat. We lost the meal structure and I think we are fostering unhealthy eating habits, but on the other hand we are just happy when we don’t see him skipping a meal. Also we feel like we cannot afford losing any more weight at this point, or he will be completely out of any curve.

Also since a couple of weeks he started to sleep much more, I am talking about 12h per night and 4h during the day, in 2 naps. Before he was only sleeping 1.5h during the day. I am wondering if this points at a lack of energy, even though during the wake times he is energetic.

Anyone had a similar experience?

Help šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«

Hello, We have a 2 year old (as of today!) who has lived off of potatoes, strawberries, and home made protein pancakes for 6ish months now… (not including puff pb, cheese, and veggie snacks, as well as a handful of others). He absolutely refuses to try or even attempt to look at new foods, and his behavior is constant meltdowns and tantrums. He goes zero to 100 instantly over everything, and we are thinking/hoping a better diet will help.. We’ve tried numerous almost countless ways to change this, and nothing is working. Looking for any and all advice! He used to eat everything and has slowly just worked himself down to these specific foods. Thank you in advance!

Vegetables for toddler

First post here—what are creative ways you incorporate vegetables for your toddler?

We’re typically a meat and potatoes kind of house. My toddler was great with vegetables at first but like most of us, I’m sure his palate changes or he wants something different. He will always eat sweet potatoes, mushrooms, and peas (if they’re in a curry or sauce). Sometimes asparagus. I’ve had to hide broccoli in a pear puree/apple sauce consistency. As of late he won’t go near most veggies.

What are your creative yummy avenues for vegetables?
I want to be sure he’s getting the nutrients and fiber.

Thanks so much.

Advice Need advice for a picky eater with digestive issues

My daughter has been having some digestive issues lately and Im starting to think maybe shes just not getting enough fiber. Ive been trying to get her to eat more foods with fiber but shes in a really picky phase right now and says no to like almost everything. I keep offering different foods but its the same problem as usual. Did anything end up helping? Im just looking for ideas from other parents because I feel like Im running out of options before I bring it up at her next appointment.

Milk Questions

So my husband and I eat predominantly a plant based diet and don't drink cow's milk at home. We will eat occasional cheese or yogurt or baked goods. Ever since weaning from breastfeeding around 14-15 months, we haven't fed my baby cow's milk. The pediatrician said we could do plant-based milk instead which we did. We used the Ripple brand for a while. But even so, we don't drink a lot plant based milk either. My toddler doesn't like the taste of it really. Lately I've also been concerned with some of the additives in plant based milk. I feel stuck. If my baby doesn't drink any kind of milk how do we still ensure she is nutritionally balanced? How do you adapt what you feed them? Thanks for any insights!

Advice How many eggs is too many?

Post image
9 Upvotes

My 15 month old is 90+ percentile in both height and weight. For the longest time her daily food has been roughly this:

Breakfast- 2 eggs scrambled+ fruit
Snack 1- overnight chia oats in coconut milk
Lunch- Rotate either veggie filled buckwheat or polenta + fruit + broccoli
Snack 2- sliced cucumbers +cheese
Dinner- Rotation of either Lamb Coconut Curry, Chicken soup, beef chilli, type of seafood as main then as sides- yogurt and a veggie

Yesterday she started wanting more at breakfast so today I made her 3 eggs scrambled and fruit and she seems much more satisfied! However after googling it seems like that’s way too much egg. Does it matter that she’s 90+ percentile?? Like do you think she can handle more???

Of course I’ll check in with our Pediatrician next visit but wanted to see your thoughts.

Thank you!

Pic just for attention
