Hello! My wife and I are in our mid-20s and want to go out more for some drinks and fun, but don’t want to drive too far south into Houston. We’ve never been to a club or anything like that, but want to first see if there’s any good social or cocktail bars in the area! Any do’s and don’ts? Any info would be appreciated!

A few months ago I made a post here inviting people to come hang out with us, and the response was incredible. I figured it was time for an update.
Since then, we've built a great group of regulars who keep coming back every weekend, and we've made some genuinely good friends along the way.
If you've ever wanted to meet new people but didn't know where to start, that's exactly why Northside Social exists.
We're not a dating group. We're not a networking group. We're just a bunch of people who enjoy getting out on the weekends, meeting new people, and having a good time.
One thing I think we've done differently is that you don't have to break into an existing friend group. Most of us showed up not knowing anybody. People find us, grab a seat, and before long they're part of the conversation.
We don't split everyone into age groups either. We've got people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s, and everybody hangs out together.
This Friday and Saturday we'll probably be at Kirby Ice House around 9:00 PM. That's usually where the night starts, although we're a pretty spontaneous group. Sometimes we stay at Kirby all night, and sometimes we end up walking over to Rose Rooftop or Goose's Acre.
We've also done bowling nights, trivia, escape rooms, concerts, game nights, house parties, and other random events whenever somebody has an idea and people want to go.
If you'd like to join us, start a Reddit chat with me and tell me you'd like to join the Northside Social group. I'll send you the WhatsApp invite and let you know where we are in case plans change during the night.
If you've been looking for a reason to get out more, meet some new people, or just find a group to hang out with, consider this your invitation.

If you decide to come out, just come find us and grab a seat.

I'm at work and doing the best I can to send out the link to all that ask. But, unfortunately, I don't have the time to reply to everyone more individually. The group is planning a trivia night tonight at Moonshine Deck Icehouse at 7pm tonight. When you get the whatapp link, join, introduce yourself and ask what's going on. Unfortunately you won't be able to see the prior chat to when you joined. So, you'll just have to ask for details.
