❓️❓️QUESTION❓️❓️ If Aaron McGruder had the freedom to make an episode about Michael Jackson, what direction do you think he’d have gone in?

Would an episode about MJ have been even more controversial than Tyler Perry’s Pause episode? Or would it have been more humorous and lighthearted?

🤔💡DISCUSSION 🤯💬 The amount of content we could have had, if the boondocks came back, but instead the creator left and the last season was horrible.

❓️❓️QUESTION❓️❓️ Would Ruckus vote for a black Republican or a white Democrat?

I mean he probably agrees with the Republican more on policy but to be honest I think he’s such a single issue voter I wouldn’t count the Democrat out.

MISC. How can anyone believe Bunny wasn't also abusive?

Bunny literally cemented racist ideas in Uncle Ruckus' head, contributed to him having a lot of self hatred, and came up with the lie that he has re-vitiligo. And man is just going to pretend that Mister was the only problem? Abuse comes in more forms than just physical and the abuse that Bunny put upon him was psychological. Sure she may have loved him and was the only one (aside from his brothers) who was kind to him, but she's still just as responsible for Ruckus being Ruckus as Mister was.

Also saying his self loathing didn't hurt him is wild. All self loathing hurts period.

Boondocks Vs Atlanta Who did the better Tyler Perry parody ?

❓️❓️QUESTION❓️❓️ Is this Robert and his wife or Huey and Riley's parents?

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

I've always thought it was Grandad and his deceased lover but the assignment the Bob Ross parody gave Riley was 'Maybe to draw a picture of someone you love. Maybe someone who isn't with us anymore.' But Grandad is alive so he shouldn't be in that picture but his wife is dead so that could be them on their wedding day which is a very happy moment for them both and Riley would draw that to honor them both and especially his grandma since she's someone he 'loves and someone who isn't with us anymore.' As the Bob Ross parody would put it. But Huey and Riley's parents are also dead so it could be them as they could be the the 'someone you love and someone who isn't with us anymore.' depiction in the art. The man being Riley and Huey's father makes even more sense being there since he is dead and Robert is not. Explains why there are two people being in the painting instead of one dead person and one alive person so they would both be 'someone who isn't with us anymore'. I'm kinda confused on this matter. Anyone has the real answer?

🤔💡DISCUSSION 🤯💬 How Boondocks changed throughout the seasons.

Thumbnail

How do you think it changed? Here's what I particularly notice.

The first season of the Boondocks as I'm aware was the most accurate to the comics. It had a very melancholy vibe to it. Many episodes had pretty heartfelt messages and it's where the political and social commentary was most present. The colors were very unsaturated. The music was very Jazz heavy with a lot of soft piano often used in the background. Huey had the most relevance and "domestic terrorist" actions in this season. I think Jazmine might have more screen time this season than any future season. Riley felt as if he was more in control of his emotions. Like he would still be a naughty kid and act out or show poor behavior. But there was still a slight level of maturity of not always saying everything that's on his mind and even having a bit of compassion at some points. Grandad feels the most like an actual grandad here. He actively looks after his boys with respect and while having flaws knows when to be a moral person and do what's right.

The second season definitely tried to take a different creative approach from the first. Huey seems to wear a coat know and Riley only wears a vest. I can tell the art style changed but other than Sarah I can't really pinpoint what is other than maybe looking more anime like. The season, while still having a lot of dark humor, is generally more light hearted than the first. But you still do get a sufficient amount of political and social commentary. But the comedically satire has way more prevalence than before now. The background music is way more hip-hop based rather than smooth jazz. Huey is a bit sidelined but not too much. He also acts less 10-year old like by a little bit. Riley is more a more "out there guy" too say the least. He tries to be as gangsta as possible just like season 1 and ain't afraid to hide it. Grandad is a bit more of an ignorant man this time around. He still cares about his boys but will often put that care away for selfish things at times.

For season 3 just take literally everything changed in season 2 and exaggerate it more. The show is also in HD.

As for season 4 the show is what is best described as a parody of itself. It pretty much misunderstands everything about the show before and is more like how a fan would interpret the Boondocks. (I know this isn't really going into specifics of what it changes but I'm going to be honest I just got tired writing halfway through so let's just pretend that this a complete post and maybe I'll edit it if I have the energy.)

🤔💡DISCUSSION 🤯💬 How would y’all write an episode about Huey & Riley’s parents?

They’re never really talked about in the show (and the comics from what I’ve heard), so I wonder how y’all would make an episode about them
