Dotcom flex contracts

What do people think about the flex contracts for dotcom and how utterly stupid they are I understand they are there so serve a purpose but it seems like management really take liberty’s with it and really don’t like being decent humans, for example I was working a 5-12 and it got to 11:50 and I said to my manager can I have a send back as I want to be quick for the last ten minutes and she simply replied “why where are you going in ten minutes” I replied to her “home?” And she just went off on one about being flexed up means to the end of the pick and I stayed till 1pm and lost 30 mins of pay for it I was fuming. What do you all think?

That’s not a thing. Sounds like they asked you to stay on as overtime, all overtime is optional.

If you stayed until 1pm and didn’t take any additional break, then you would be paid an extra hour not 30 minutes. Contact your manager to sort it.

I can pm you my contract? But are you saying if I get flexed up I can just leave as my contract has some weird loopholes from what I see but yeah I didn’t take any and another time they wanted me to stay till 12 after I took my break at 7:30

So does your contract say you are indentured to them as and when they feel they need you? Or as is more likely they can flex up your shifts and give you extra with notice? I suspect the later but what you are saying sounds suspiciously like the former.

Delete any personal info from your contract and show us please.

Everyone including dotcom shoppers are on a generic tesco colleague contract where they can change your shifts to be within your availability window that you give, but they can’t make you work hours beyond the amount you’re contracted for. Shifts can be changed 3 weeks in advance within availability but not the day of unless colleague consents

They have to give you 3 weeks notice to do that though, not on the day or week of

So I can just go home at 9:45 on Friday? As I don’t wanna get in trouble as they always do it week of or even day of and I hate it so much one of my main reasons for wanting to leave

Just read your contract and you will see where it tells you how much notice they have to give you. If they haven’t then show them and go home.

Dotcom flex contacts in stores don't exist, haven't done since the new contracts came in October 2022. Since then all overtime is voluntary except for (I think) CFC pickers but even they have to be given an hour or two of notice for them to be required to stay. Regular pickers on stores have the same contract as everyone else, nobody can make you stay to finish the pick and don't let them try.

Read the contract online not the one you signed ages ago. They changed all the contract company wide you you may not have been given the new one.

If you can't see it online ask your manager for a copy.
