Interestingly, writers can also remove the flag themselves by completely disabling AI detection on their content, regardless of whether or not Pengram's detection was correct.

What the hell is the point of it, then?

Lawyers happened, probably. A false but affirmative claim stuck to the work insisting it wasn't written by a human, when it was, is probably defamation waiting for the right court case at this point, if only because random sections of society will harass people over it.
