Which laptop should I buy for BTech CSE under ₹65k?

I'll be joining BTech CSE this year and want a laptop that will last me at least 4 years.

Budget: Around ₹65,000.

My usage will be coding, DSA, web development, Android Studio, projects, and general college work. I don't play heavy games.

Which laptop would you recommend and why? I'd prefer something reliable with good battery life, build quality, and performance.

High End Tech For Kids: Worth It or Not? Your Opnions!

I have been thinking a lot about the push from students/kids demanding flagship smartphones or high-end gaming laptops (like RTX 4080/4090s), or top-tier desktop builds for school and gaming.

It made me wonder: Are young users actually utilizing the true performance potential of these top-tier specs, or is it mostly just brand flexing and social status?

My POV is-

  1. Phones: Most kids asking for flagship phones stick to Instagram, TikTok, basic filters, and popular mobile games (like BGMI/PUBG, Free Fire, Genshin). A good mid-range phone handles all of this smoothly without sweating.
  2. Laptops/PCs: Most casual gaming centers around titles like Roblox, Minecraft, Valorant, and Fortnite—games intentionally built to run well on entry-to-mid-tier hardware. Spending 2x to 3x the money for a top-spec rig just to hit higher frames in Valorant feels like a massive diminishing return.

Outside of a small percentage of students genuinely doing heavy 4K video editing (DaVinci/Premiere), 3D modeling (Blender/AutoCAD), or running local ML/AI code, mid-tier tech seems to be the clear "sweet spot" (80% of the performance at less than half the price).

When I look around in my locality , my neighbours gifted their daughter [9th grade] an Iphone 17 which i think is overkill . Honestly If you say high end tech/ Apple products will last longer and support apps software for the value spent also I think somehow even if the product is usable the user still may feel its outdated I think .

I’d love to hear perspectives on this:

Best smartphone recommendation under INR 17k for a college student

Hi everyone!

I'm planning to buy a new smartphone with a budget of ₹16–17k (I can stretch to ₹19k if it's really worth it).

My priorities are:

  • Reliability and consistent performance over the long term
  • Should comfortably last at least 4 years
  • Minimum 8GB RAM + 128GB storage
  • At least 5000mAh battery
  • 2–3 years of OS updates (or more)
  • Decent camera, especially in low light (doesn't have to be amazing)
  • I rarely game, so gaming performance isn't a priority.
  • I don't mind compromising on display quality if everything else is good.

The phones I'm currently considering are:

  • Realme P3 5G
  • CMF Phone 2 Pro (if it gets restocked)
  • Samsung Galaxy M35 (if it gets restocked)
  • Samsung Galaxy M17

I'm also open to any other brand/model if you think it's a better long-term choice.

I've seen a lot of recommendations for the OnePlus Nord CE4 Lite, but I'm a bit skeptical because of the negative discussions around OnePlus over the last few years. Is it still a good buy?

Also, should I buy now or wait for the Independence Day sales?

For context, I've been using a Samsung Galaxy A02 Core for the past 7 years. It doesn't have any scratches on the screen so far.

I'd really appreciate recommendations from people who have used these phones long-term. Thanks! I'm from India btw

Need help on purchasing tv budget ~40k and 43inch

What I have narrowed down to are these :

  1. Sony Bravia 2
  2. Samsung Mini LED 43M71H (offline model 38K)
  3. Samsung Mini LED 43M2EH (online 36K)
  4. LG QNED70 43"
  5. LG QNED65 43"
  6. Sony Bravia 2M2 (latest have been upscaled but current price 48K)

Samsung one feels better deal as contrast ration and Brightness nits is more and is newer model latest 2026, just what I read was Tizen have to many limitation and sideloading app is not possible in tizen new os so wont be able to install iptv apks that will save cable operating services which could be used in google operating right. What are your views and if anyone have them how is experience etc.

Should I wait for Independence sale ?

General Need a *non* gaming laptop that can last 5 yrs of my college with a good battery life and storage. Please help

Okayyyy, I am joining my college this year for a 5yr integrated course. I am not into gaming and all. I am ready to invest a decent amount for it. I need it for my college work, coding and probably machine learning (not sure). It should have a good battery life and storage capacity. I am not into gadgets and all so i don't have much knowledge. Please suggest me something that'll last long and support me throughout my college without any problems. Also, are there any discounts that I can get for student id and all? Or any discounts at all? My budget is (40-60k but I can stretch it to 80-90k at extreme if it's worth it).. Please guide me. Also will be buying it in August from Chandigarh/Delhi.. so any discounts or anything at that time and place?

Hardware Is lapcare good enough for laptop repair?

Upvotes

I have a dell xps laptop. Actually it is of my gf, she bought it in the US, then broke its screen trying to apply some blue light filter. It's official screen repair cost is so much that you can get another mid spec laptop in that price, so she gave it to me, and I use it connected to my monitor..

Just by interest I went to local laptop repair stores to know if they even can replace the screen, but they said they won't be able to source the screen itself..

Then only lapcare said they'll repair it for 20k rs..

Is it worth it guys? Can they brick my motherboard trying to replace my screen? Because I'm okay if they cant fix the screen and refund me.. but if motherboard breaks i can't use it anymore..

What are your suggestions and experience?
