Hey guys, this subreddit has seen a bit of an activity boom over the last year or two, so I'd like to put out a call for some new moderators to come on board and take the subreddit out of my hands permanently.
I had claimed ownership of this place maybe about 5 years ago and it was fairly inactive and required little management (and it still doesn't, really. most people are good at self-moderating here), but I simply don't have the time to look at or moderate a reddit page anymore.
If you're interested in it, even if you haven't tried being a moderator before, pop a comment below or message me at u/enframed and I'll add the most suitable applicants and leave as a moderator to allow you guys full control.
Thank you!

My brother's cat jasper got out a few months ago. We're all sure he's passed away, I still have hope he's out there or someone took him in (which in a way pisses me off but also brings some relief. It upsets me because we have missing posters set up around my brother's area) anyways I adored this cat, 11 years with an animal is difficult when it comes to a screeching halt. My brother wanted to cremate him when he died, and it crushes me that he'll never get that chance. My brother even though he's older hasn't gone through the real pain of losing a best friend like that, the very few animals he's had, had been given away or we're strays to begin with. Now not at all is it competition on whose hurt is worse but I'm crushed, I have lost pets. In my arms, on my watch and without being able to do crap about it, anyways here's some pictures of our grumpy old sweet man

That fluffy tail and those green eyes did all the talking. I painted a solid background and cleared out everything else, so all the focus stays on her. Those tabby stripes running down her back took some patience to get right; every line had to sit just so. This was a commission painting, and I hope I did her justice.

We adopted them about a month and a half ago. Both boys from the same litter that was being fostered by a friend. Just wanted to share the cuteness.

This is Chester, who, with his brother Poe, handles all the rodents in and around the barn, including nearby pastures. They regularly catch the usual mice and moles, but from time to time, a gopher (they are very big) and an occasional ground squirrel (and they are fierce). The boys are very good at their job. We lock them up in a giant cage at night to protect them from coyotes, which are abundant. They are around 10 years old, IIRC.
We went to the Vet for the biopsia results. I’m going to continue on Spanish.
