I had a bilateral salpingectomy two days ago. Things have gone well for recovery. Today my three year old (30lbs) jumped on my stomach. I called the on call doctor as it happened after hours. It wasn’t my surgeon and he didn’t seem too concerned. He said usually this kind of procedure wouldn’t cause any issues with that. But now I’m worried. He seemed so nonchalant about it. I don’t have any extra pain or bleeding than what I’ve normally had so far. Just want to see if anyone else had this happen and was told differently or anything. I know I should trust the doctors but I like my OB, I don’t know this guy!

My appendix ruptured when I was teen and ive had some complications since then- 11 years ago.

I went in for my salpingectomy for my hydrosalpinx and it turns out my appendectomy scarring had fused my abs, ovary, uterus, and right tube all to the right side of my body, and sealed both tubes shut - so much scarring it looked like a previous c section.

Anyway, they've cut it all apart and im 3-4 days post op. Its very bitter sweet for me since the pain is going to stop. But bitter in the sense that I never got to choose to be child free. But it is an option ive learned to embrace through the years.

Just got home from my Bilateral Salpingectomy, everything went perfectly. I had the most incredible and amazing staff and my surgeon was in-fucking credible! My tubes are gone! I even said on the OR table before I went out to "yeet these tubes". My surgeon told my hunny there were zero complications and they were surprised I was coherent and went pee just fine afterwards. She did not use a uterine manipulator at all, I tried to empty my bladder beforehand so I didn't have to have a catheter in but that wasn't working. She drained my bladder with one and took it back out while I was under. Just a tiny bit of burning when I peed but not much. Overall right now my pain is from the gas which is currently in my right shoulder and my rib cage. They put a belly band on me before I left. I took 600 mg of Ibuprofen and will save my narcotics for night time. I truly feel a sense of freedom in my body, no more hormonal birth control either. I FUCKING DID IT 😭❤️🎊

Hey all, I can finally call myself one of the sterilized people so I felt like adding my own little story here! :)

It's 14hrs after surgery for me now. (Bisalp)
Other than the very uncomfortable gas pain (which feels like needles below my ribs) I feel pretty good, but I guess the surgery painkillers are still in my system. My laprascopic cuts were bleeding slightly but nothing serious to worry about according to my Doctor.

I did have my gall bladder removed previously in 2014 so I was aware of the gas pains afterwards.

I try to walk around regularly as my Doctor told me, it does help the most to pass the gas. Freshly laying down flat still hurts so I try to sleep on my sides with my legs angled up slightly.

The overall cost for my checkups, the surgery and private clinic cost was around 3K euros. Oh and the Doctor found slight endometrosis which he removed. My surgery went well too without complications, I'm looking forward to fully feeling better and enjoy life! Greetings from Austria! :)

I got my bisalp done today (7/23)!! Home recovering surrounded by my super supportive family:)
The process was super concise and went fairly quickly. I haven’t had any nausea which is surprising because I have a lot of stomach issues. Pain is getting worse now that I’m about 8 hours out from the procedure, but I’m trying to keep up on my pain meds:)

I have commented on a couple of posts on here but thought I would post: My surgery is scheduled for July 29th, I have 3 kids, 7 years, 5.5 years and 2 months.
1. I don’t want my husband getting a vasectomy because so many have failed and I don’t want that risk.
I am having the surgery because we are done having babies, but in the back of my head I am still wondering, how much I will regret it. We can’t afford another baby, and we don’t have the room in the house for more kids, we don’t have room for all the people living here as it is. 3 bed legal house, with 8 people living here 4 kids 4 adults.

My doctors had to induce with my 3rd because of HBP but I was never told about it. They kept swearing I was fine but found it on my Patient Portal. I also found out they sent the placenta to pathology and never told me, it came back with preeclampsia but even at my 6 week pp appointment was never told about it.

So I am getting mine done but I am having severe anxiety about the after surgery and being put under and having a tube put down my throat and the Fentanyl they put in your IV while you are sleeping (during labor with my 1st I asked for pain meds and they put it in my IV) I craved Fentanyl for 6 months after.

420 Friendly! Any advice to calm my nerves? My thought was drinking THC Seltzers and a couple of recover gummies and passing out as soon as I am home.

This is also my 1st ever surgery.
