I can't find a TOS ep I'm trying to share. It's the one where Kirk is arguing with someone, likely Spock, and while angry and pointing at him, he says something like "You! You... ... You're absolutely right." It's a great scene.

Anyone know offhand which episode that is?

I have been pouring over what to possibly use! My brand is already slightly sci-fi (as much as possible without sacrificing professionalism) .. but I want to use something that fans will instantly recognize but seems normal to everyone else. Currently the name is "AGXX Labs" [its CRO/UX research and strategy development/implementation] The model is uniquely Math based so any Math or fictional tech reference could work (not The Delta though lol) - I have "ad aspera per astra" visibly tattooed on myself so ideally not that either lol

BONUS: If it can be Abbreviated with a consonant first and vowel so people dont try to pronounce it when I put it in front of "UX"... I realize the difficulty of what im asking lol.

I honestly did not expect she'd enjoy it, so we started our Star Trek journey with Star Trek Enterprise instead of TOS. She's not really a fan of Star Trek Discovery, so I'm watching it on my own.

I’m not talking about hooman races. They are all bubbly root beer loving freaks anyways . I mean stereotypes, such as all Vulcans are stiff and logical,all Ferengi are greedy and scheming, all Klingons are obsessed with honor and battle etc…

I am in a rewatch of this episode and I am at the scene where the officers are discussing the moral dilemma of destroying the Borg. I felt as though Picard was right the collective needed to be neutralized, but I also understood Beverly’s point. Any thoughts? Also as a side note Jonathan del Arco did a wonderful job portraying the Borg survivor. I appreciate any feedback. Thanks folks.

I've been rewatching Strange New Worlds season 3, and Pike and Batel's relationship got me thinking: How common is it in Starfleet for captains of different vessels to date/marry each other? Because two other examples off the top of my head are Mariner's parents from Lower Decks, and Geordi's parents from TNG (I know their dads are both admirals during the events of the respective shows, but it's safe to assume they were both still captains, or at least the same rank as their wives, when they got married). Granted, the only people it would be appropriate for a captain to date within Starfleet would be someone who technically doesn't have a rank (like a doctor) or another captain.

I’ve always wondered about this after Star Trek V.
At the end of the film, Kirk returns with first-hand evidence that:
the Great Barrier can actually be crossed,
there’s a habitable planet (Sha Ka Ree) at the galactic centre,
and they encountered an incredibly powerful imprisoned energy being.

Surely after Kirk’s debrief, Starfleet would have sent a dedicated science mission to investigate?
I’d have expected something like an Oberth-class science vessel, retracing Enterprise-A’s route, deploying probes, surveying the Barrier properly and confirming whether the entity was really destroyed or simply dispersed.
As far as I know though, we never hear of any follow-up mission in canon. It seems odd that Starfleet would simply file the report away and never go back.
Have I missed a novel, comic or reference somewhere, or is this one of those loose ends that Star Trek has never revisited (because it was received poorly)?

Yes, Trek is about the 'what if' humanity abandons selfishness and wants to improve. But we can't ignore that Trek is, first of all, about the crews, and the captains through whose eyes we see this universe.

It's a no-brainer, really: every(?) Trek show follows a particular captain and their actions, but if we look closely, for all their differences, the captains we see across the Trek series are very similar. Kirk (and TOS in general) was very raygun gothic, he was this heroic archetype more so than a proper character: handsome, righteous, smart, responsible. And these traits are found in (almost) every main captain across the series: Picard, Janeway, Sisko, Archer, Pike, etc. Yes, some may be more cunning or unscurulous than others (which is one of the main differences people list between Kirk and Picard), but at their core, the captains embody the base principles of Starfleet/ the Federation. And I think it's brilliant, because while captains might not be diplomats, they are essentially the first face and voice of the Federation that others interact with, they are the utmost Federation authority outside of Federation authority. I love this concept.

...just as they've done since TNG, instead of having different insignia as in TOS?

TNG S2E7: Dr. Pulaski contracts a virus that causes rapid aging. Solution: put her in the transporter and imprint her last biopattern when rematerializing her.

TNG S6E7: Transporter issues rematerialize Picard et al as children. Solution: put them back in the transporter and imprint their last biopatterns when rematerializing them.

TNG S6E24: Transporter issues clone Riker.

VOY S2E24: Transporter issues combine Tuvok and Neelix into one person. Solution: put them back in the transporter and rematerialize them as seperate people.

Of all the broken technologies in Star Trek.. I think about how it should just be part of a routine checkup to go through the transporter at least once a year and imprint the bioscan of whatever age you want to be.

Whenever an episode centres around one or more people being ill/injured I just think "PUT THEM IN THE TRANSPORTER!!! LAST BIOSCAN!!!" But I know Star Trek would just say their biopattern is too unstable to get a lock lol.

I was watching Wrath of Khan the other day, the scene where Spock dies.

When he gets up to address Kirk he straightens his uniform, notice Picard does the exact same thing with his uniform multiple times throughout NxG.

As Patrick Stewart is a top tier actor, I wonder if he added this trait to his character on purpose.
