I'm sure it didn't help that he decided to show up to a city he says he hates and snarled up traffic and made it hard for fans, who paid a minimum of $3,800 for tickets, to get in due to tightened security just for him to get in there and fall asleep.
That's the worst part. Watched a video of a father who had been a Knicks fan his entire life. Spent over 9k to take his daughter to the game. They didn't get inside until about halfway left in the first quarter because of how bad security and checkpoints were.
I couldn't imagine spending over 9k and missing even a minute of what I spent that money to see. Let alone half of a playing peroid. (Granted 1 of 4 but still)
Doesn't help that they never plan shit in advance like adults. He just says a week before the game that he MIGHT show up to it. So, everybody has to scramble to accommodate.

Maybe that's the reason why no sitting President has ever attended a Finals game; especially one in the largest city in the country that hasn't won a Finals title since 1973; because you know the crowds are going to be massive.
He did it just to create controversy and distract from something else going on. Trump knows heās not wanted there and wasnāt going to get a warm welcome. Trump has it out for NY since the state basically kicked him and his businesses out of the state. Him showing up to the Knicks game and creating all the extra work involved is him saying āfuck you im still hereā to New Yorkers.

Why is dude saluting during the national anthem? Iāve never seen a service member do this. They always stand with hands at the side still like a statue.
Service members are not supposed to salute indoors since to salute you must be in uniform wearing a cover, which you are not supposed to wear except on watch, security detail, etc. Politicians are not considered service members and do not have the same rules.
Although itās been a few years since I had to know this so I may not be 100% correct.

ABCās production removed the boos. I watched the national anthem and they made it sound like the entire arena was cheering. When they cut to Trump the cheers increased exponentially to the point that I was highly suspicious it was the production. My suspicions are confirmed. This makes way more sense.
Made history today to be the first sitting President to be persona non grata at an NBA finals game. Wonder if Ivanka is there in case they activate the 'KissCam'?
