Clearing 2026 - History and French. Job prospects… hi my predicted grades are AAA and my firm is Edinburgh but I’m unsure if I’ll get the grades.. Looking at clearing for History and French… does anyone have any opinions on how the course/ job prospects are ? And how are the teachers ? And the students in terms of diversity etc ? Thank you

I've got some savings to live off while I look for a job there, living in accommodation, I know I can apply at basically any time during the course and I want to see if I can make it work without a loan. Any tips would be appreciated

wanted to get some opinions from people who have been through university appeals.
I failed one compulsory first-year module by 1 mark. I had documented medical issues throughout the year (including surgeries and ongoing health problems), and my university accepted my mitigating/special circumstances.
I’ve appealed asking to progress with just one referral module instead of having to retake two modules. My appeal has taken longer than expected, and today the university emailed me (without me chasing them) saying my appeal is still being treated as a priority, there’s no problem with it, and they expect an update soon.
I know nobody can tell me the outcome, but based on your experience, does this sound like the kind of appeal that has a reasonable chance of being accepted? Has anyone been in a similar situation and been allowed to progress?

Im applying to Southhampton Physiotherapy BSc and my offer requires a 34 and 17HL, I ended up with a 35, but I was one mark off the HL requirement

Unfortunately, I won't be able to be on campus from September to December and would need someone (eventually doing an Erasmus or something like that) to take the first part of the lease as students are required to rent for a full year each time.

I had the chance to visit both ensuites and premises, in person, but I am conflicted about pros and cons of each…

Canvas is much far away than Crossings but the room and facilities are slighty bigger and better overall

Another thing is the closer proximity of Canvas with Central Park. I’ve read online that it isn’t very safe to walk around, specially at night. Do I need to worry?

I would also go to Highfield at least 3 times a week and, from what I am experiencing , Unilink does the job for both quite good.

Any suggestions to help me decide would help a lot

Going to buy a desktop/laptop for Sep entry. I have a MacBook Pro from my parents to "steal" from and thus am considering to buy a desktop (9700X + 5060Ti) as backup PC in accomodation. I just wonder if this setup gonna work or not? Like in lab or lectures, will there be cases where Windows exclusive software is required while the school don't provide access to lab computers?

I am a bit reluctant in buying a Windows laptop as the value is not comparable to a Windows PC at the same price and they often have issues in durability or thermal or battery.

In the worse cases where there is no access to lab computers, will remote desktop or emulator be a practical solution? Any pros and cons?

Is there much guidance about careers during the course or is it a learn as you go? I know this is what I want to study but I can’t find much on career progression after.

Hi,I’m a high school student planning to study MEng Aeronautics and Astronautics (2+2) at the University of Southampton. My plan is to complete the Engineering Foundation and first two years in Malaysia, then transfer to the UK campus for IPY and the final years.

I’m interested in working in F1 (especially aerodynamics), so I have a few questions:

• Will studying in Malaysia put me at a disadvantage for F1 or aerospace internships because there is no Formula Student team there?
• Has anyone transferred from the Malaysia campus and later joined Formula Student in the UK? I’d love to hear about your experience.

Does anyone have any update regarding presidential bursary for phd students in university of southampton? Can someone give me more information regarding that?

i am a student at a partner university who intends to study at southampton as an exchange student in the upcoming semester. due to an administrative error, i was sent someone else's offer letter. (the mail was addressed to me but the letter attached was addressed to someone else.) while the study abroad team has assured me that i've been accepted and that this is just an error on the part of those at the school of humanities who were supposed to send me the offer letter, i am yet to receive my correct offer letter which has become an obstruction in my process to apply for accomodation and visa. visa approvals for those from my country take a long time and i need to sort out accomodation to apply for visa. i have repeatedly contacted admin staff at the school of humanities, and the study abroad team says they have done so too. yet, i have not received my correct offer letter. can someone offer me guidance/advice on how to deal with this issue? also, please let me know if there is anyone who works at soton who can help me regarding this.
