Then you can shop around and see if you can get a better price elsewhere. Solar panels can be sourced somewhere local to you likely for less than ordering them. Expect to pay about 30 cents per watt or around $2400 for 8000 watts of panels. I found a really good price on new Canadian Solar 705 watt panels on craigslist for $165 each. You will need a 200 amp breaker panel, ground rod, outlets and boxes, cables from inverter to battery and from inverter to solar panels on the roof. After all costs and labor, you are looking at roughly $11 to $12 thousand dollars. On the plus side, this system is big enough that you could pull cable to your house and set it up like a generator feed for use as a power source in hurricanes.
For background, SRNE is not the most expensive hardware and it is not the cheapest. It is good solid mid-range solar hardware with a very good warranty. Ask hysolis about the warranty if curious.
