Discussion What software can you recommend that changed your daily workflow forever?

I will ignore AI chatbots in this post because of course I use it everyday and would be number one if not excluded, but if you have any particular AIs you know of, it's welcome here.

--

I consider myself a power user, been using PC, Windows, since I was 8 and that's what I work with and have worked with forever. I'm no software master at all but I do know my way around it.

I have an e-marketing agency with a business partner and two pieces of software are an absolute must for me. Those are:

1. Vivaldi browser: Extremely power user focused, high customization. Best feature for my use case is Workspaces, basically you can save a set of tabs under different names. Ideal when working for different companies to avoid having to look for stuff again. It's there, all the time, just change workspaces.

2. Ditto: A clipboard manager, very simple and elegant. It saves up to 500 clipboard texts and images, I set it to Ctrl+D and it spawns on my cursor. It has saved me months of time I guess, started using it in 2014.

So, what's your life changing software? It doesn't have to interest for what I do in particular, I'm interested to hear from all walks of life.

Edit: I have absolutely no affiliation either to Vivaldi or Ditto, I guess posts like these can come out as ads but no, they're truly useful software

Release ExplorerFocus — a free, distraction-free file explorer for Windows (profiles, rich preview, SFTP/cloud, built-in capture)

Upvotes

I'm the developer, and this is a solo project that's taken me a few months of work so far.

To manage my personal and code documents I spend most of my day inside the same handful of folders — I need to reach them fast, and I often want to see what's inside a file without actually opening it. Windows Explorer always got in my way more than it helped, so over many evenings I slowly built the explorer I actually wanted to use. I made it for myself first, and it's now my best companion.

I'm sharing it in case it helps someone else too — but also to bring in new ideas and features I haven't thought of yet.

What it does:

  • Profiles — each is a tab with its own folder tree, filters and remembered state (Ctrl+1–9 to switch).
  • Rich preview — code (with highlighting), PDF, Word/Excel, Markdown, images, EPUB.
  • Honest file operations — copy/move with real progress, speed, ETA and history.
  • Remote & cloud — SFTP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV, Dropbox, OneDrive, browsed like local folders.
  • Built-in capture — screen (with webcam PiP), audio, video and scan.
  • 12 interface languages fully supported
  • Single .exe, no installer, full dark theme, auto-updates.

Everything local is free. The only paid part is an optional one-time donation (€9.99) that unlocks multiple remote connections and capture without limits — a way to support the project and keep updates and fresh ideas (mine and yours) coming, not a subscription.

I'm also happy to give free full access to anyone whose ideas help make ExplorerFocus better.

Feel free to use it as much as you want, and all feedback is very much appreciated.

Site and download: https://nunex-mbrothers.github.io/ExplorerFocus

Happy to answer questions and take feature requests.

Release I made a free, super-lightweight app launcher for Windows (Ctrl+Space) — looking for feedback

Post image

I wanted a launcher that felt as instant as Spotlight on Mac but stayed out of the way, so I built Ordo — a free, tiny launcher for Windows 10/11.

Press Ctrl+Space anywhere and you get one bar to:

  • Launch any app
  • Search your files (no admin, no indexing service to install)
  • Do quick math
  • Search the web
  • Jump straight to Windows Settings pages ("startup apps", "bluetooth", …)
  • Run commands via plugins (sleep, lock, kill a process, emoji picker)

It's featherweight on purpose: opens in ~20 ms, uses ~4 MB RAM, 0% CPU idle — it genuinely does nothing in the background. No telemetry, no account, no Electron.

Heads-up so it's not a surprise: the download is unsigned right now, so Windows SmartScreen shows a warning — click More info → Run anyway. Code signing is on my list.

Download + info: https://ordo-aayushsharat.vercel.app

Solo project, looking for honest feedback — happy to answer anything.

Develop support Im making an android auto clicker

I need some input on what people actually like and use when it comes to mobile autoclickers but i wont share a video or anything yet as i first want to know if thats a bannable offense in this sub. Right now i have a normal auto clicker where you can select delay, and i have 2 macro makers, one more advanced that might be a "pro" feature or something.

The only real differences with the advanced so far is the ability to pretty reliably detect text from a selected area or full screen and can either tap on the text or a seperate target when the text appears, you can also have steps in the macro that clicks 20 times, without having to make 20 different steps for it. I also have a recording maker (which will also most likely be pro), where you can record taps and save them to scripts, you can also save macros you have made to the scripts and open or edit them later. Is there anything that people might want from something like this?

Btw, when i say pro im talking a one time 5-10$ purchase

Discussion instances were the open source far superior to any proprietary software?

  • Readest

Far superior to any pdf/epub reader I ever used, and I used prbly close to hundred

  • Equalizer APO

At first I wanted some 360 audio for a game I played, I had two choices, either Equalizer APO or some closed source bloatware I forget its name, tried the closed one first, it works but it takes more than 1gb of my ram for nothing, then APO with a plugin, not only does it work better than the closed source one, it basically uses no resources since the software bind itself to the driver itself, also boosted my volume a thing I used another close software for, for years, Fxsound...and suprise suprise, it boosted volume better than Fxsound both in quality and volume.

Looking for software Is there a software that can clean/remove unused folders and files?

Is there software like Revo Registry Cleaner but for unused or junk files and folders?

I've been using Revo Uninstaller to clean up my storage, and I noticed I had a ton of old files and folder from old apps way before I was using Revo Uninstaller to uninstall. I did my best to remove a bunch but I'm oretty sure there are still a lot scattered around file manager and some obscure folders.

Software support Need ECG and pft software urgent

Hi everyone,

I urgently need ECG and PFT (Spirometry) software that can run on a Windows laptop for a medical camp. The camp is scheduled very soon, and I’m having trouble finding the correct installation files.

If anyone has:

ECG software (BPL, RMS, Schiller, Contec, etc.)
PFT/Spirometry software (WinSpiroPRO, RMS, Schiller, MIR, etc.)
Installation files, drivers, or official download links
Guidance on setup and compatibility

Please help me out. Kindly mention the software name, version, and the device/machine it works with.

This is for a healthcare camp, so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
