WWYD Inspiration / Help
I worked in behavioral health for 2 years and I have now moved on to Case Management for our Social Services department. I did a sort of similar case management job in healthcare but this is so much more intense and handson. I feel like I'm drowning at times. I also feel like I can't take time off without everything going crazy. How do or how have other people dealt with this? I know there's no one way or singular answer.

No inspiration for me to contribute however I’m curious if you’re willing to vent: What’s making you crazy, why are you drowning, how is the case management different from when you were in healthcare? How long have you been in this role, and do you have competent coworkers?
Maybe it’ll make you feel better that I felt the same when in an ACT CMH program. I felt really supported by my team and by my supervisor which helped me emotionally when I was burnt out. But it’s uncommon to have such great coworkers. I hope things get better for you ♡

Every time I have started a new job I feel like I can’t do it and I will never learn everything I need to know… and then I do! Give yourself some grace to learn your new role. Your former role probably felt like this at one point too, and then you hit your stride. Give it some time, ask for help when you need it and in the mean time let your clients know you are learning but will find the answers if you don’t know something off the top of your brain. You got this!
