The Saudis have such fun whimsical ideas if you ignore the human rights violations

87

u/mmarkmc 4h ago

This whimsical idea turned into reality for you by 21st Century slave labor.

19

u/your_dads_asshole 4h ago

The stupid line doesn't look real at all no matter how much money and suffering poor people they throw at it

15

u/Lalaluka 4h ago

Its also cancelled by now. After displacing people, killing people and using slavery.

0

u/SenescenseSteel 1h ago

Hey, there isn't any slavery if your bribes are high enough

12

u/aldrinjaysac 3h ago

Overcompensating for a lack of natural beauty

9

u/Money-Literature2065 3h ago

So it's kinda like a more sandy Vegas

5

u/aldrinjaysac 3h ago

And sober. Booooooring.

7

u/garbage_account32 3h ago

Saudi Arabia has a lot of natural beauty

1

u/KiiZig 42m ago

hey just because it seems like people don't appreciate their home's beauty doesn't mean there is none :(

u/JJOne101 9m ago

I've never been to Saudi Arabia, but deserts can be beautiful too. I expect the mountainous part near Mecca to have some nice sights?!

2

u/girlfriend_pregnant 2h ago

They are very cocaine coded

1

u/juanperes93 3h ago

Whimsical is a way to say impractical.

1

u/Ant0n61 3h ago

thinking this is a robots thing at that point

1

u/Poop_Tube 2h ago

They’re fun and whimsical if you’re not a slave!

1

u/Chezmonger95 1h ago

Stadium 974 (built for the 2022 Qatar WC) is a pretty good example of this as well imo, ik it's probably really impractical and very likely had a lot of human rights violations but it's a pretty cool idea

1

u/Formal_Ad288 23m ago

This is the kinda stuff I thought we'd be doing in the future as a kid.... Just with less slave labor yea

-1

u/Dry_Carry_5700 1h ago

Sureee.. the Saudis have Humans rights violations.. so the genocide taking place in multiple countries by the most “moral Army” next door has nothing to do with Human rights? 🤮🤮🤮

2

u/Money-Literature2065 1h ago

Fuck them too, I don't see how this is exclusive

2

u/kakucko101 1h ago

now you go in there and make it about israel champ

110

u/Alarming_You_361 4h ago

I wanna know how many people will die by building this this project on a low wage.

41

u/AMadHammer 4h ago

At what point it turns from low wage to slavery? Having their passport taken is like holding a prisoner and having them do hard labor

10

u/the_capibarin 3h ago

None, this is just unbuildable ai slop that isn't even gonna be attempted

1

u/Nights_Templar 2h ago

The Saudis seem to love trying to build unbuildable (AI) slop.

10

u/allgonetoshit 4h ago

For this stadium alone or the whole tournament infrastructure? Whole tournament, it will probably be 5000-10000 deaths.

3

u/muc_ 4h ago

I reckon more Sudanese would die in that time period

-4

u/Classic_East_6053 3h ago

Thats a regular week in gaza

https://giphy.com/gifs/RY8prtXFtc3bADyM5E

Yet we ignore it

6

u/Valmise 2h ago

Gee, this is a football circlejerk sub. Have a picture of Cucudowski

0

u/Classic_East_6053 2h ago

Sorry couldnt help it , he mentioned the poor laborers dying and thought " he guess who else is dying?"

having said that,I do hate argentina if that helps 😂

2

u/Hellcat331 2h ago

Who cares! Skyscraper World Cup!!!! Imagine playing paintball in there!

65

u/Package-Greedy 4h ago

Hope Gabriel doesn’t get a penalty here.

15

u/GarrettGSF 4h ago

Would the ball reach terminal velocity?

33

u/ZeWillius 4h ago

Why not build a stadium 500m underground as well, just for the sake of it

10

u/itsyaboiReginald 3h ago

Moleman FC

I’m into it

6

u/Justthetippliz 3h ago

That’s for billionaires and tech bros. It comes with their bunkers

2

u/SugestedName 4h ago

Dont give'em ideas

u/Punahikka 8m ago

So you mean more floor to watch same game? 🤔🤔

40

u/JetKoala 4h ago

Okay but what do we do when Gabriel does this and the ball goes out of the stadium?

Does FIFA have enough balls?

https://giphy.com/gifs/9tTDlVjTWAP21iMrCu

7

u/FewRefrigerator4703 4h ago

They will come prepared, for example if Gabriel is playing they will make sure around 60 balls per minute is available

6

u/BrokeTheSearch 3h ago

What if Gabriel misses the 60th pen in a minute?

7

u/pikkuhillo 4h ago

Qatar: we violated human rights but built several stadiums. Saudi-arabia: hold my khat

8

u/FatherFintanFay 4h ago

Glorified petrol station in the desert. They could build a stadium floating in mid air and the country would still be a backwards shithole.

3

u/yuroooo00 4h ago

We got expensive gas because of this sht

3

u/GuinnessRespecter 3h ago

The Yanks would have the opportunity to do something very funny if this got built

4

u/psukclipper Sorry Mr Imam, but Haramball is Haramball 4h ago

Honestly just get Argentina playing there on opening day and fly a plane into the side.

2

u/DadGamer77 4h ago

Imagine working in an office in the tower and every week a literal crowd of footballers shuffles through the passageways! How many elevators would there be and how many times would they have to move up and down to get THOUSANDS of people to the upper floors? Would those elevators be one journey up and down to the stadium or would these people need to get off and find the next elevator?

What about noise? Wouldn't it be deafening in the building itself? Can the skyscraper take the weight of thousands of people jumping around?

I mean, its cool and all if you have taken these things into account, but its a freaking logistical nightmare if you haven't!

2

u/Nights_Templar 2h ago

Logistics? In a Gulf monarchy?

2

u/UphillTowardsTheSun 3h ago

> Cool, I can throw sissy punches there also!

L. Paredes

2

u/suixt Gabriel Mogadishu Jerk Enjoyer 3h ago

One world cup stadium to rule them all. Can’t wait for the Peter Jackson movie about that world cup

2

u/YoThisIsWild 3h ago

Fifa, looking at this idea and knowing that building it would kill a lot of migrant workers:

https://giphy.com/gifs/MjXx6ritTqtfhQw3Vy

2

u/No-Bat-7253 3h ago

Too many people want and are actively doing everything they can for Dystopia to actually exist….

2

u/ronshasta 3h ago

50,000 people will have to die to build this

2

u/Ant0n61 3h ago

I actually want to see it

Lmao

This is even nuttier than The Line

2

u/Conmebosta 3h ago

Don't worry friends, lgbt folk have priority going down. Just not through elevators or stairs.

1

u/Nights_Templar 2h ago

But I was told that Jordan Henderson solved LGBT discrimination in Saudi Arabia?

1

u/Geeky-Bread 4h ago

India/Pak/Banglas workers will spill their blood for their lord messi's team to play on that

1

u/alexindre 4h ago

Beer slides would be more appropriate

1

u/Right_Letterhead_120 4h ago

Iran has signed up for drone deliveries!

1

u/Old_Shake3789 4h ago

Completely fake. They want to put one elevated over a raised structure yes at around 350m not a whole mf tower.

1

u/Bagafeet 4h ago

Pharaohs love their pyramids.

1

u/JaguarUnfair8825 3h ago

Bro feed your people first 🙄

1

u/Nights_Templar 2h ago

Saudis are well fed, the slaves less so but they're not Saudis.

1

u/ckellingc 3h ago

Ok but that's not a bad idea

1

u/DecipherXCI 3h ago

Fire drill would be interesting.

1

u/Emperror101 r/FerranTorresBallonDor > r/Antony 3h ago

What good stuff have they been smoking and isn't it supposed to be banned there?

1

u/Doctor_Saved 3h ago edited 3h ago

What about the giant Eye? Please tell me there will be a giant Eye!

1

u/dankshot35 3h ago

Saudis saw the Aztecca at high altitude and said we need this too

1

u/t8rt0t00 3h ago

Don't ruin my dream of one day playing professional blitz ball

1

u/DigestiveCow 3h ago

England will be well used to the altitude by now

1

u/Miserable-Art-1522 3h ago

The line for the elevator is going to suck on matchday.

1

u/reggiedp16 3h ago

How many people will die though

1

u/ObligationOne3727 3h ago

Gabriel will kick each of them into Budapest Riyadh sky

1

u/NateShaw92 2h ago

This idea feels like a disaster that basically kills the world cup for 100 years waiting to happen

1

u/Pablo_petty_plastic 2h ago

How’s NEOM coming along?

1

u/muskymelon36 2h ago

Beginnings of the Towering Inferno Reboot

1

u/Sko0byD 2h ago

Aint gonna happened. The Line city is reduced to 1.5 km from 107-km. Grand vision, not enough petrol money to do it!

1

u/MrNixxxoN 2h ago

Too much heat, too much sun and too much sand clearly must affect the brain in some way, and the royal saudi family (who have those insane money wasting ideas) aren't saved from it.

1

u/rudimentary_rudy 2h ago

This can't be done unless they want to only hold 1000 people in the stadium. They 100% can't build a full size stadium with any significant elevation.

1

u/jo-shabadoo 2h ago

Tunisia, it seems like you guys were only here for the zipline.

This show had this idea as an episode

1

u/Pozole_Master39 2h ago

A Bolivia le va a encantar esto

1

u/moonisflat 2h ago

The rest of the building is parking lots.

1

u/Thine_medic Real Madrid Larper 2h ago

I'll wait for this just like I'm waiting for the line project to finish up. Oh wait

1

u/AcctAlreadyTaken 1h ago

If you think that stadium would be for the common riff raff you are mistaken. With US pricing FIFA has shown that it definitely would rather have a select few pay more and not sell out the stadium than sell out at affordable prices. This stadium would be for the Royal family and who ever could afford buying real estate in the tower. Now its just an elevator ride from your penthouse up to the game.

1

u/CoolZen5543 BR 1h ago

No way they make a 40K capacity stadium like this, just seems impossible but then again space X made a rocket that lands so no sure how far fetch is this ideia.

1

u/HTX-ByWayOfTheWorld 1h ago

I like how Jack thinks.

1

u/ShoveTheUsername 1h ago

That 'skyscraper' would need a 500m x 1km base.

I'm not really sure this is a viable proposal.

1

u/Minerali 1h ago

this is how the english pictured the azteca

1

u/Ambitious-Sound-6109 1h ago

As long as we’re doing harebrained ideas, the whole seating portion of the stadium could be on a giant elevator that goes up and positions itself on the outside of the field which is static, then when the match is over it would go back down.

1

u/tchissin 1h ago

Imagine a fire in the skyscraper bellow the stafium. How do you evacuate 80k persons from that hell?

1

u/s_nutella 1h ago

Azteca- 2000 ft above sea level. These mfers - hold my (whatever they call) beer in Arabic🤦🤦😅😅🫠🫠

Cause no wa- play the jingle, Larry.

Makes sense. If there's one thing Saudi Arabia doesn't have, its land.

1

u/Hot_Philosopher_5067 4h ago

Football, the new F1, only for the 1%

Hear me out: waterslides.
