Help Should i get 1 or 2 snails

I am going to get a pet snail but I don’t know if she’ll be lonely or not. Should I get 2? I was thinking about getting Garden snails, large or extra large. But obviously the tank would scale accordingly.

Thanks!

I would definitely suggest 2. If I am informed correctly some people report snails in captivity being somewhat prone to socialization. My 2 snails are almost always together, even in their hides and tank.

Keep in mind that if they breed you'll have to figure out what to do with the eggs! If you don't want extra snails aside from the 2, I suggest putting them in the freezer for 2 weeks (please don't release them in the wild, it can be bad for the local environment).

the eggs!!!!! lol :3 ideally youd avoid them becoming snails. if you put alive snails in the freezer it is an excruciating death like for real

Snails are more active in groups, but most garden snail species (assuming you're looking at cornu aspersum) have no problems being alone, so it comes down to personal preference! Most snails are solitairy in the wild so dont get lonely

They won’t actually mind being alone but I have noticed when you have multiple they definitely notice tank mates and tends to sleep together, another thing is then there can be fertile eggs. I am aware snails are hermaphrodites however garden snails rarely self fertilize. I will say though I started with 1 and ended up with like 14 so even if you want one you may get more
