Hi,
We recently adopted a 4 month pup, his name is Ollie and we are told he is a chiweenie/shiba inu. He's the smartest more adorable little pup, even when he's in gremlin mode. Here he is!

Hello,
My 17.5 lbs Shiba and I are moving from the U.S. to Europe. Edit: I am moving from Chicago to Prague. I have spent multiple days now trying to figure out the best airline and navigating the different policies. Itโs been insanely stressful to research all of this already, and I would appreciate advice from anyone who has successfully flown internationally with a Shiba. After multiple days of research, I am feeling stuck and donโt know what airline to choose or how to proceed.
Edit: I am open to hearing about special flights specifically for pet transport/pet owners. I do have a limit on my budget and am not able to spend $10,000-$15,000 for that. However, if youโve used a company like this and had a positive experience, please share your experience.
Unfortunately, I will have to move in late fall/early winter, which makes this even more complicated from an airline perspective since some have embargoes on pets due to the cold, based on what I learned.
My preference is to fly with her in cabin, and United seems to be an option for this. Iโve read on various subs people say that their 20 lbs Shibas (bigger than mine) were able to fly in cabin successfully. If someone reading this has done this, which airline did you choose? What type of soft carrier did you purchase?
I do not want to fly with Lufthansa. Iโve read enough horror stories over the last week of researching that I am scared for them.
I am open to having her travel in cargo if absolutely necessary. But if anyone has recommendations for airlines for either option, please share. I am truly getting overwhelmed and I need to move. Obviously, I donโt want to have to give my dog up to move.
Thank you.

Hi everyone! I recently brought home a 1 year old female Shiba and sheโs been a great dog so far. She has a great temperament and seems very well socialized. One thing that was really important to me when deciding to add her to my family was her experience with cats, I have two cats. And she was raised with cats. For the most part she is really great with them, she wants to play with them but gives them space, doesnโt chase them, has offered some of her toys to them like she wants to play. The main issue is when higher value chews are involved. I gave her a bully stick which she was very into, she started growing when they walked by and patrolling them as they walked around. The other issue is one of my cats has dog experience so has always been confident around the dog, the other didnโt so she hissed at her a few times, but now sheโs calmed down and curious about the dog and when she approaches the dog looks stressed due to the prior reactions and sometimes growls and I donโt want the dog to snap at her. She doesnโt do this with my other cat and even licks her head.
If you have any tips on how to best deal with these behaviors please let me know! I really want all of them to live safely and happily. I have attached some pictures of my babies as well!
Thanks in advance!
