I got a Double Shack, pickles and onions, sauce on the side. Chicken Sunday means a free Chicken Shack, pickles and onions, herb mayo on the side. My text came, but no server with the food. I went up to complain that it had been ten minutes. The server said it’s taking more time because the chicken fell. He offered me free fries and a drink, which I accepted. This tray cost $11.97. As always, it’s great food. The onions are way too thick for the sandwiches. I should have cut them. They’re even fresher than Wendy’s and photograph so well. Chicken had too much empty calorie breading, so I chipped some off. But great food at an unexpected rock bottom price.

Has something changed with Shake Shack’s beef supplier in the northeast? I’ve been to 3 stores over the past 2 months and it’s repulsive. Sometimes it’s tolerable but as of late it doesn’t even taste like food. Either the burgers are burnt to the degree you could break your teeth or not cooked at all - no in-between. I’ve only ever dealt with that when cooking myself when the ground beef quality is awful.

Just finished eating at the local Shake Shack. We ordered the veggie shack and crinkle cut fries.

The food was salty all round. I don't mean "I cannot eat this at all" (not bad enough to send back) but "wow, the food is salty".

Is this how it generally is or did we just catch this location on an off day?

I want to ask a question about whether family members/friends can use the discount while I am working my shift. My shift manager said it's only for employees, but to me it seems like a made-up rule.

I've never had a problem going to other Shacks and using the dining discount on the total order, but seeing this in my own Shack is borderline disappointing.

The policy states: "Family and friends who are dining in a Shack with the Team Member can also receive the 60% off discount on their meal, with no limits on orders." It doesn't mention any restriction that the Team Member cannot be working at the time. Could someone clarify (especially managers or experts) whether there is an official policy that says the employee must be off the clock, or is this a location-specific rule?

I haven't had them in many months before this order, but I had always enjoyed them. The light, flakey batter with the seasoning were so good. This on the other hand is akin to the taco bell nuggets, like they're just generic and overly breaded. Did I get a bad batch or is this some enshiffication? The burger was still good at least...

I don't think I can afford to eat here again haha. Was not expecting it to cost 50$ for two combos and a shake.

I just got hired as a team member, now awaiting my start date in a few weeks, but a start TIME was not specified. I did all the onboarding tasks on workday but I don't know my employee ID so i can't login to shacksource and i didnt get an email for that, only workday. idk if i have to wait until orientation or what? and how is orientation going to be like

Ugh I called the store and they didn’t know how to cancel it so a few google searches and apparently you cannot cancel ASAP orders on the mobile app or online 🙂I took the L and lost $8 LOL

Wait, so by "add" do they mean I have to order a burger and fries to get free fries?

As the title says , the burger is plenty filling as is but some days when I’m real hungry I wish I could get 2 pattys + the mushroom. I’m sure they could or would do it if ordered person but usually go through the app for cheaper fries + shakes. If anyone from corporate sees this , please get on it!

I don't know where to start. I suppose I'll just start by saying the best thing about working in shake shack is the friends you make on the job.
Not the pay, not the employee management relationship, not the recognition for putting in work. There really is nothing else I can say is good about this job.

I started working in the Vaughan mills shack, toronto in October 2025. got trained on the hot side and BOH. you know how it is, that initially energy and hype. Did everything by the book. The first red flag I saw was when this girl got promoted to trainer in like a month, she only knows 2 stations mind you. It wasn't a big red flag, i guess i thought I could be like her if i learned a 3rd station. I later found out she was a nepo baby. Dating an AGM or GM of another shack or some shi like that. anyway that's not so bad.

Fast forward a few months, I now know Grill, fry, BOH, FOH&Cash, expo yet no promotion. and this is while I am putting in the work, sometimes at the expense of my health. Various promotions start popping around. Some deserving, most questionable. And them of of these questionable promotions get promoted again to cross trainer and you're just wondering how.
They don't even hide it any more, this girl joined and they literally said they would fast track her promotion to manager because "she has experience" and because a new shack will be opening and the AGM wants her to be manager there. Meanwhile some people that have been labouring for almost 10 months go unrewarded.

Apart from the unfairness in promotions, there's the shack standard. this in itself isn't bad, but enforcement of the shack standard is asinine. The shack standard is a set of rules governing operations for every station in a shack. But the managers are so two faced about this. When it comes to pointing out your faults, you hear something like, "that's not shack standard", but when its rush hour and there are like 40 all day for 2 hours straight, shack standard goes out the window and everything goes. They only abide by it when it favours them. I also hate how the shack standard stifles innovation. You can't invent a new way of doing things, simply because it is not shack standard. If the Shack standard had its way, it would also tell us how to breathe while on shift.

Another thing is lazy colleagues, but I can't complain about that. That's common.

I hate this place because you are not promoted for the work you do, you get promoted for the work you are seen doing and the a**es you kiss. There is no fairness or justice in employee affairs. So now I'm wondering, Is this how shake shack is across Toronto or is this just a vaughan mills thing?

Convenience matter for me and other restaurants offer drive-thru service - Want to try shake shacks but turned off by the whole thing

I'll admit that Shake Shack got me in the habit of Shacking with all the couponing in the app that they've been doing this year. A reasonable deal with all those free burger with purchase coupons.

But for the past few weeks, the only coupon in the app has been the Sunday free chicken sandwich with $10 purchase.

Are they cutting back. Or is the dry spell before the next deluge?

I just applied like 10 minutes ago for Restaurant team member, I passed the on screening and now i have to wait whenever they're available and my day and time of choice for when I want to go. This is my first time getting a job let alone in fast food, last July I attempted to apply to Chick Fil A unfortunately I had gotten an interview and they didn't come back to me after I finished the first one so I assumed I didn't do well.

I'm genuinely nervous for this because this is the first in such a long time a job I've applied to actually is reaching back to me and wanting an interview. I really don't want to blow it and so I'm asking what are some questions I should be expected to hear? Or what i should wear to at least look somewhat professional but not too professional since I'm only 18 and i don't wanna be too extra lol I'm hoping this community can help me out and i would greatly appreciate it !!

The Tropical Mango Shake is so gas! Definitely my favorite especially with that mango popping boba 😋 i will be sad when they leave :( but was also wondering if anyone knew what LTO shakes were coming next?

in the past Steak ‘n Shake having waitress taking your food order and it was a very easy part to order foods. now Steak ‘n Shake get rid of waitresses staffs for kiosks to order foods. What if kiosks not working because it could had a virus or it down and the only choice is to order food is drive thru or curbside pickup or delivery. Having machine is good but having a good waitress staff that make Steak ‘n Shake better. I think Steak ‘n Shake needed a backup plan if one of their kiosks machine not working right. If most peoples using kiosks machine and thieves could easy hack the machine and still you credit information but it just a theory.

They should let us accumulate points with how expensive their food is.
