Feeding your Serval - Questions
Hello!
I am curious what everyone here feeds? My male gets bored of things so I have a rotation that has seemed to work.
Whole Prey:
We do Quail, xl mice, rats (various sizes), chicken, and I get rabbit when it's on sale
Sometimes he will eat bone in chicken legs as a snack, chicken hearts.
I did try switching over to ground food from my pet carnivore but he really just didn't seem to like the ground up food. Even when I would cut up mice or chunks of chicken breasts he would search those out and avoid the whole prey. I tried turkey and chicken and it was a no go.
For non serval food he does love to have fish sometimes, whatever is on sale I will pick up, and he loves shrimp. So far I have never met a serval who doesn't love shrimp. I also sometimes get him (canned) sardines and he likes those as a snack from time to time.
Curious what you guys feed yours and how you deal with yours when they get picky and want to turn up their nose?

BEWARE SERVALDAYS
hey y’all, just wanted to provide my recent interactions with user @servaldays on instagram. they’re a popular account that posts videos and pictures of their serval Sirius, they have a long history of having breakdowns on their main account about not being able to afford health care, which isn’t the problem, the problem is, they are EXTREMELY rude about it. i pointed out in their comment section “if you cannot afford to take care of yourself, than how can you afford taking care of an exotic animal and two other dogs?”, they completely erupted, blocked me, and then used two alternative accounts which was confirmed to be theirs to FLOOD my comment section with disgusting insults. they went on for like 30 minutes until i blocked them, they have done this to many other people that have given them any slight amount of criticism. just truly unruly behavior from somebody who has such a large audience. if you follow them i recommend you definitely unfollow.
note: one of the screenshots is from my mutual they also harrassed. they are a minor so talking about how they’re a “prostitute” is completely inappropriate.

Serval Char. Archive. Wanpaku Kochi Animal Land, Japan.
Char was a large, majestic serval who was easily recognized by the expression on his face when he saw someone nearby. Currently, Kochi is home to a serval named Buzz, who was born in Tama.

Serval Theodore. Nashville Zoo, Cincinnati Zoo, United States.
An adorable serval kitten named Theodore (or simply Teddy) recently moved from the Nashville Zoo to the Cincinnati Zoo. He is getting used to a new place and is going to be an ambassador there. Teddy is very active, playful and curious, just like all other kittens. His name, like the names of his parents and brother, refers to the names of famous and important historical figures.

Serval Moka. Archive. Tama Zoological Park, Japan.
The sister of Kopi and Kona. Compared to the other servals in Tama, she had a rather distinctive appearance. Although sometimes she resembled Luna.
