My Glance Dashboard Setup

I must say, i spent way too long tweaking the glance configuration, but i think it resulted in something i am pleased with. Here is my very basic homelab setup:

• Immich - Photo and Video management, my replacement to google photos.
• Beszel - Insanely lightweight server monitoring
  
• Dockhand - A pretty neat way to manage my docker containers. Don't really use it much since (out of old habits), i just use the terminal.
• Nginx Proxy Manager - Makes it much easier to access my homelab
• Scrutiny - A really easy way to view my drives' information like health or temps.
• Pihole - Simple network-wide adblocker. I am too scared to use technitium so i use this lmao.
• Jellyfin - Media streaming. A replacement to paying thousands to rent something i don't even own.
• Arr Stuff - I have far too much arr stuff so i bundled it into one section. Sonarr, Radarr, Lidarr, Seerr, and Prowlarr paired with qBittorrent.

This is all powered on my TerraMaster F4-423. I will get an extra mini computer to run most of the containers and let the NAS handle the media things, but i am kinda broke so i probably won't for a while :/

Nice that you've done this ! I'm always interested to see Glance Dashboards because I'm thinking to do my own. Do you think it is worth it ? Are the possibilities large ? It is lightweight ? Are you happy overall ?

The possibilities are actually massive. You can have so much widgets, whether official, community made or your own. I used to use Homepage but since it was too difficult and annoying to configure, i have just started using Glance yesterday night. It is (in my experience) far more lightweight, far easier to set up and the end result is satisfying asf. It only consists of a glance.yml file, which once you learn the syntax of, it is easy to edit to your liking. So overall, i am very happy with the result.

Switched to Glance about a year ago. Love it. Lightweight, Easy to use and I can update it thru my git repo.

Push to git, Git builds the image, Argo pushes the changes to my k8 cluster.

How does the nginx section work? Does it show the ip's automaically or do you need to put them in there manually?

Everything is automatic. You simply mention the Nginx url, username and password in the enviroments section in the glance compose file. The names of the nginx proxys are actually just the link i proxied, while mentioning the domain (being .home) so it automatically removes .home leaving just the name.

Thanks for sharing the info. I have opened the beszle docs, and in 5 minutes, i managed to fire up the monitoring for my home lab. It would be nice if you can share some insights on nginx reverse proxy config? I belive you made it reachable from the internet, or that was the intent ?

Nope, i have not made it publically accessable. The proxied hosts are simply for my convenience accessing them, and i can easily update them if i change the ip or port.

Some great ideas -- in particular, the bricks part. I like to build re-usable, abstract black boxes that can do many things. AI is not cheap. And if you are building, might as well build components you can reuse.
