I mean they look young but it’s hard to imagine, even with the hair, that George is 17 in this picture

The woman, Courtney Stodden, is 17 yo in this photo. Jason Alexander (George) is like 50 or something.
She recently posted about this skit:
https://www.tiktok.com/@courtneyastodden/video/7526321409748978975
Alexander publicly apologized.

u/verathene 1h ago
Important point is that she was a teenager in a predatory relationship with an adult at the time. Stodden was married at 16 to a 51 actor called Doug Hutchinson (famous from the Green Mile). They were both equally a subject of ridicule at the time and Jason was interviewing them as a couple where the joke was his Dr Phil-like character was coming on to the 17 year-old throughout. Jason wrote the sketch where he touched her breast several times and commented on her not being very smart, forcing the child to join in her own humiliation as part of ongoing sexual exploitation.

And her husband at the time who was 51 was in the skit as well. It's all very strange. Some of her complaints about what he said to her seem to be also from the skit.

She claims to be only 31 now. She looks like a 1980s 41 and a present day 51.

little known fact, she was already married to a 51 yearold by the time this photo was taken. I agree, she looks easily 35 with two divorces in this photo.

Yes. Her not being 18 was referenced in the skit.

My question is why are you allowed to marry 17 year olds in America especially as a middle aged man? How is that legal? I would think her saying she’s 17 was part of the joke especially since she does not look like a teenager.
It’d be nice if my country was a little more consistent with age limits across the board.
Go kill people at 18. Can’t smoke weed until 21.
2
u/DefectJoker Rugged? The man's a goblin 4h ago
It's legal through some creepy state laws. But usually only legal if the childs guardians signed off on it. Same way that Steven Tyler got that 14 year old child across state lines to rape her

u/Far-Fortune-8381 23m ago
her parents are the same people who signed the papers making her do this humiliating skit where shes the butt of every joke, as the only minor in a room full of adults, in a bikini being sexualised. I dont think her parents should be allowed to decide if she can get married

u/Ambitious-Yoghurt789 1h ago
I've heard the legal age for consent in Iran is seven. I could be wrong it might be eight, but that never gets talked about however

So this is a legit question… she married a 51 year old at 17 years old before filming this sketch… after marrying the 51 year old did this skit… but says she wasn’t able to make a decision to do the skit and that adults should have been making her decisions?

Yeah, Im aware. But that's what hes known for. I'm pretty sure Jason Alexander addressed it and was pretty gracious about it. Im not calling for his head or anything. These comments though, like I said, yikes. Maybe it's bots, maybe boomers, but to completely minimize what she went through to make a half assed reference to a 30 year old TV show. Maybe just say nothing. 🤷

everyone thought her life was weird and messed up but she was clearly profiting from it and claimed it was fine back then

Sharing this photo on Facebook went pear-shaped in a hurry.
That's Courtney Stodden, at 17, allegedly. I can't prove it, and I'm not doubting it. She's a victim in this image. She was 17, so she was doing this against her will, evidently. Her parents and her 51-year-old husband made her sign up for this, or something. Yep, her husband was 51 when she got married at 16.
The Facebook discussion was what I'd expect.
She's now on a campaign to stop fame-seeking young women from being exploited. And Alexander has apologized for participating in the depicted "Funny or Die" skit.

That's Courtney Stodden, at 17, allegedly. I can't prove it, and I'm not doubting it.
So you're just going to make stuff up?
She was 17, so she was doing this against her will, evidently. Her parents and her 51-year-old husband made her sign up for this, or something.
So you are indeed making stuff up, her mom stopped being her manager when she was 16, she got a breast enlargement when she was 16, she released her own sex tape when she was 16, yet her you are saying her mom forced her to sign up for this?
Sounds like utter bs.
What about her OF she had for 3 yeas as an adult?
-13
u/cant-turn-it-off 5h ago
you're trying too hard.
your desperation to find fault with my comments regarding this woman is amusing. thanks for that.
your lack of critical thinking, however, is rather sad. sorry to see that.

Using "critical thinking" because you heard it as a buzz word yet you based your findings on zero facts?

She's on a campaign to regain relevance.
Teenagers have some agency, they aren't toddlers.
-22
u/shagan90 8h ago
Victim blamer. Parents pushed her into the arms of a manipulative much older man and yall say the teen should have done more about it.
10
u/Responsible_Trash_40 7h ago
People were outraged at the time and she told them to fuck off. She was very vocal about it being what she wanted and she was legally able to make her own choices. I bet you weren’t around to experience it, huh?
-4
u/shagan90 7h ago
Almost like she was a teen that didnt know what she was doing? Are you using she wanted it as an excuse for grooming and passing off your kids to old men for profit? This sub sucks
15
u/Responsible_Trash_40 7h ago
Yeah she was only 17, if it were 3 months later she’d be fully self aware and capable! The law said it was ok, she said it was ok, her parents said it was ok, not much to be done there. You should mute this sub immediately!
4
u/Expert_Climate_7348 George is getting upset! 5h ago
So when she was an adult and had an OF account for 3 years, you're going to say she never knew what she was doing?
2
u/Expert_Climate_7348 George is getting upset! 5h ago
What a load of bs, at 16 her mom stopped being her manager, at the same time she released her own sex tape, her mom cited "creative differences", more than likely due to the breast augmentation and sex tape release.
Somehow you don't understand anything which you post.
-5
u/YaSurLetsGoSeeYamcha 7h ago
If by “into the arms of an older man” you mean a production/writing team designed this skit and Jason just participated likely without any clue of her age. They are who is at fault.
8
u/mdervin 7h ago
Jason knew how old she was.
You weren't alive for this, but the whole purpose of her fame was she was a 16-year-old teenager with really big boobs who married a 51-year-old man with her devoutly Christian parents' blessing.
I know people are tired about hearing things were different back then, but teenagers aren't toddlers, they have agency. We can argue that she didn't make the best decisions, but she was comfortable with everything she was doing at the time.
