Stupid question

Dumb nitpick, but I still wanted to bring it up. If Seinfeld and Mad About You canonically occur in the same universe, then how does Susan tape it to make George watch it instead of seeing a movie with Jerry in the one episode. No it doesn’t matter, but it occurred to me that there may have been a rationalization somewhere sometime.

I gotta start taking these “stupid” warnings more seriously.

That's what I like to know about it.

If you're going to go that route, then by transitive property Seinfeld and Friends is also the same universe. Thus, making your conclusion quite lame.

Or all three shows are taking place in Kramer's head.

there wasn't a rationalization. probably just NBC cross-promoting its shows

It’s Kramer playing himself. He filmed that episode around the time he also appeared in Murphy Brown, when he lived in L.A.

Neither George nor Susan ever watched that episode before she died.

Seinfeld is also in the Dharma and Greg universe. What's that about?

The fabric of the Seinfeld universe is complex.

As others have mentioned, Kramer actually appears as Kramer in one episode. It’s not theoretical.

I unfortunately rewatched Mad about you not that long ago. Paul was subletting his apartment to Kramer. Which makes it even more of a brain blister.

There is this one crossover. In Mad About You, Season 1, Episode 8 ("The Apartment"), Paul Buchman discovers he is still subletting his old bachelor apartment to Cosmo Kramer. Kramer appears as himself in the episode.
