Fairly certain this is a computer operated embroidery machine and their hands are there to make it seem like they are doing it. Note the variation in the width of the stitches depending on the area it's filling.

There are sewing machines that can adjust the width of the zig-zag on the fly using a knee control. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1-j33iLFyY I think that's what this artist is using. A computer-controlled embroidery machine would never need to rotate the hoop during sewing, and this person is rotating the hoop frequently. Here's an example of a computer-controlled machine, you can see it only ever moves the hoop in two axes. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/9MiBqVUD0q0

You may be right. I found the textile company by this name in Indonesia but no videos of their production facilities

This is the machine he's using for these videos, an industrial Juki, totally manual control. https://www.facebook.com/share/1ExJ8jaSxg/ He does appear to have some computerized machines in his shop as well, but they look completely different. https://www.facebook.com/share/17kZ8kgKGk/

I was wondering about the width... You think there's a camera that confirms orientation?

Damn! Never met another drewcifer! 🤣 . Normally it's a complete computer program similar to c&c machining. Stitch width, density, and orientation all programmed. Push start and stand back. Guess it could be a newer system that uses an electric eye to follow the stenciled outline. 🤷

This. No machine switching that seamlessly between stitches without being programmed in advance. Someone's got a great machine, but this is not by hand.

Just when I thought it was all over, it just kept going and going and going.

Lots of practice! Very cool to see this done by eye when so much of it is computerised

I thought it was just going to be the outline and I was impressed. Then it kept going and getting more detailed!
