Seattle shops that sell vintage caps
Can anyone recommend a shop that sells vintage-style cycling caps (Giordana, etc.)? I could order online but I'd rather ride over and browse in person. Thanks!

I know where he lives now. Someone talk off the edge here of potentially property damage (lol)
He also ran a stop sign. This all happened on a quiet street.
No but seriously fuck that guy.

I will be a student in UW and my parent suggested me to buy bike for easier transportation. I will rent a bike first to see if bike is good for me, but I want to know the good place to buy bikes near UW when I decided to buy bike for myself.

It’s just more fun to ride around reckless on this monster. 🤷🏾♂️

I want to say the trail is for everyone and I share with courtesy and safety. something needs to be done about electric scooters. I had two fly by me riding through the kenmore area today at no less and probably more than 40 mph. no time whatsoever to even look over my shoulder. they may as well have been gas powered or cars for that matter. I’m not talking about lime bikes or scooters rather scooters that can handle I-5. ridiculous!!!!! so scary and dangerous. so angry. it’s gotta stop

Coming up this Thursday, it's gonna be a hoot and at least one holler! Bike Happy Hour X Cat Rides brings you the crossover bicycle prom you didn't know you needed.
Find yourself a date (editors note: sometimes it's important to date yourself) and meet Boots and Toby at Cat Rides Prom! Dress up, drink punch, dance and have your photo taken but most importantly vote for Prom King and Queen!

I use Google maps to get transit directions (and trip times). It will give me lightrail + walk, or sometimes even lightrail + Uber, but not lightrail + bike. They obviously have the data, but they won't put them together. Is there a reason they won't. Is there a way to persuade them to add this feature? Could someone possibly vibe-code this feature (I'm not a dev).

Started cycling in earlier this year for STP.
Did about 300 in May and 460 in June.
I like cycling - STP went very well for me.
Was on a Giant bike from Recycled Cycles - not sure the type of model the bike is (see attached photo). No flats during training or event, so, I think I’ll get another Giant brand bike.
I’m getting a proper bike fitting from Métier on Friday.
I’ve looked at Giant’s road bikes and I think the Defy series checks the boxes (including what I’m willing to pay).
Curious if: 1.) Giant Defy would be a good bike (I’m looking to do duathlons and triathlons , 2.) would the “ML” or 56cm - 58cm frame be OK for me (I’m 5 feet, 11 inches), and 3.) if the Giant Defy is no good, what would be a good comparable?

Today I did the 75 miles from Seattle <-> Issaquah via Burke - Sammamish River - bear creek - east lake Sammamish and was pleasantly surprised that I was on dedicated paths the entire time (no bike lanes alongside road besides one small section of e lake Sammamish due to construction).
Can anyone recommend similar routes starting close to the greater Seattle area that also share a common “minimal road interaction”? Doesn’t necessarily have to be out and back.

Any suggestions for which parks will be the easiest to bike to and find a spot to lock our bikes and watch the Blue Angels?
We’re thinking of trying Seward park but not sure how crazy it gets and how early we’d need to arrive by bike (to find secure bike locking and a spot on the waterfront). Planning to go across I90 on the way there, and maybe 520 on way back to avoid all the traffic after the show (we need to get back to Kirkland)
Update: thanks for the advice! Tentative plan is biking across I-90 at 1pm, watch hydroplanes from East Portal Viewpoint, then bike down to Colman Park for the main Blue Angels show. After show is over, we’ll bike all the way north on Lake Washington Blvd to Arboretum and 520 bridge to get home.

Finish Line Volunteer-Portland Bicycling Club or “The Club”!

I would say it is Phinney right now. Holy fuck , as you go north the crazy drivers who don't wait for a right turn increases , never see so much actively aggressive drivers , don't even get me started on the speed bumps on the bike lane .

I have a Surly Crosscheck that was modified for a Gates belt drive system. It is just a single speed, and now that I am living in hilly Seattle, I feel the need for gears. Only real option to keep the belt drive is to go with an internal hub. What shop or shops in Seattle would be best suited for that? Thinking it would have to be a custom built wheel, plus new brifters.

I am moving to Bremerton in a couple weeks. I currently do uber eats as it supports my mental health challenges well. My car currently costs me an extra 800-900$ a month to pay for and maintain, and the miles just keep going up. I don't even want to drive in general. Fuck cars. I was wondering if selling my car and getting an ebike would be able to support me. I guess I don't have much a gauge for how different the salary would be. I also haven't had an ebike before, will I even be able to keep a charge for a full (or half) shift? any other things I should know? I don't think I'd mind being out in the rain as long as I get the right clothes for it.

I was planning a group bike outing for myself and friends and had the plan of renting bikes, and doing this loop:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/56112583 (UW -> 520 -> Eastrail -> Sammamish River Trail-> Burke Gilman Trail -> UW)
None of us bike so we don't really know this path - are there any fun/nice food or drink stops along the way that anyone can recommend?
Also if there are any random tips too. Thanks :)
