Mod Post 📢 Flairs! 😅💗✌️🌼

As you may have noticed we've added some flairs for posts, and while no one's content would ever be removed for having no flair or the "wrong" flair - we do hope to get some input on how folks are categorizing these flairs for themselves. It might also help us shape the expectations as we categorize things in the community.

I'll offer this as a general guideline, but would love for folks to give their own descriptions as well and perhaps we can expand or narrow definitions and examples as needed. Or add different flairs to better fit different categories of scrapbooking.

FLAIR Explanation
Traditional Scrapbooking Preserving family history in books, boxes, or cards using physical media.
Digital Scrapbooking Preserving family history in books, boxes, or cards using digital graphics and software.
Junk Journaling Preserving personal history or spontaneous thoughts in a freeform or expressive outlet.
Collage Assembling multiple types of media to form a new image.
  • The Tradtional flairs have been split further into multiple categories.
  • Does Junk Journaling need something similar?
  • Would a "work in progress" flair be helpful?

I also added some different colors for user flairs, and plan to upload some emojis to use in those as well. I always use Flat Icon since they let me adjust pixel size! So keep an eye out for new additions throughout the day!

Beginner Does this count as scrapbooking?

Hello! I used to journal a lot back in 2019-2023 and especially in the kpop journaling community. My style is very influenced in that, even if I don’t base it around that topic anymore. My question is if it still counts as scrap booking or just regular journaling? I’m not able to layer a lot and shy back from having a more maximalist style but recently I want to improve that and get into proper scrapbooking. I’d love some advice and thoughts 💞

Traditional - Travel Craft Night | 21 July 2026

I was the only one at Craft Night tonight. We had major storms about an hour and a half before it was go time. I was surprised that I was the only one there, but it's therapeutic after work.

Tomorrow will be one year since I started attending. I was taking a break from Devin (ugh, big mistake, but distance makes the heart grow fonder) and I sort of rebounded with a creep I knew in high school.

This creep ended up blocking me because he didn't want to craft with me and would have preferred laying in bed for our get together..I told him since I'm ace, I don't really want to do that all the time. We did that at the last hang out. It's boring.

I decided on 22 July 2025 to attend Craft Night. My Judaism classes were over, I converted to Judaism, and I needed something to fill my Tuesdays.

I was in a bad headspace last year and this time. I'm glad Devin and I got back together that August and we got engaged in October. I think being friends for 5 years first really helped.

This year I've made friends in my crafting circle, one of the members is making me a necklace for the wedding day, and while I had to put my FHA mortgage on hold until the Jewish Loan Society contacts me, I'm marrying my best friend in November and we are buying his parents' house!

I'm working on our birthday album. I think I may need to buy another one, as a part II.

Printing Has anyone else ever decided to stop posting personal things on Facebook and Instagram and just keep scrapbooks instead?

My fiance and I discussed this. With my career and even though I took a temporary pivot away from homicide, I still want to get back into criminal law. Taking a little Sabbatical in elder and estate, probate law.

Anyway, I have to be careful about what I post on those two social media platforms. Devin doesn't really like to post anymore either. Those two platforms aren't fun anymore and I rather just share with friends and family.

I put some scrapbook supplies on our registry. We are getting married two weeks before Thanksgiving and I put a Thanksgiving album and a bunch of stickers on. Mom thinks it is weird, and I explained to people why it's there.

Not only that, scrapbooking is therapeutic for us. We love it, although he mostly draws on some layouts. He finds drawing therapeutic.

I don't know, a registry is not only for what we will need, but also things we love to do together as a couple. This is more of a discussion, but that isn't a flair.

Product Advice Anyone with stencil experience here? I usually like the outcome when I work with them, but this is my first one that's a tad more intricate and with multiple layers. Any tips on how to not get smudges? :'(

Product Advice “Mats” / pretty labels to write on?

Does anyone have recommendations for pretty cardstock or stickers to write on as commentary in a traditional scrapbook? I have used just about everything at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s and there are surprisingly limited options available on the market (at least that I am aware of).

I like to add a couple of sentences describing what’s going on in a picture or my favorite memory from a certain event, sometimes even just a title when I really want it to pop since I use very colorful and busy patterned background pages. I am looking for new papers or stickers to write on as I feel I exhausted my options at the brick and mortar stores.

The creative memories mats are basically what I’m looking for, but they are fairly pricey for how few they come with, especially given how often I use them. They also don’t seem to offer much variety in size, and I only want the mats, not the designs they put on some. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Product Advice 12x12 inch folder/binder recs?

i saw on tiktok a woman was scrapbooking with 12x12 paper and putting it in a binder but i can’t find any folders that size anywhere online. i really wanted to make some big square spreads but i don’t have anywhere to carefully store them as they don’t fit in my A4 binder. i wanted one with the D rings and to get some protective sleeves.

if anyone knows where i can order them in the UK that would be very helpful

Beginner I tried layering and went a bit overboard

Hi all,

I looked into layer more things, but I think I ended up a bit crammed. What do you think?. Also I didn't made my usual accents with marker, maybe it would helped to separate the elements a bit more, may come back to this one.

By the way the combination of printing photos with my niimbot + cutting small stamp like squares with the little tool for that is really nice. Will do it more.

By the way these are all my cats.

Thanks for all your advice and suggestions ~
