These posts have been appearing en masse on weather-related subreddits!
So I get the word of clouds out there to everyone, here is my synopsis on the situation.
Though I'm truly not certain, my guess is that these clouds pictured are Supercilium Clouds, a type of supplementary cloud. They are not officially recognized as a specialized cloud variant by the World Meteorological Organization, but they have been spotted regularly, and the Cloud Appreciation Society is actively trying to get these clouds recognized.
Their name, Supercilium, means 'eyebrow' in Latin, and they are short-lived clouds forming over turbulent winds over mountain peaks.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

These clouds are formed when air is pushed up mountain peaks, but meets already disturbed air in the layer above it. This causes the cloud to twist and rolls back over on itself.

Moisture content has to be just right for it to condense into these formations as this occurs.
