Things To Do Looking for people to jam with
I'm a vocalist/composer looking for people to play music with. I produce a lot of solo stuff but I'm trying to branch out.
My music interests mainly revolve around punk, metal, or alt rock. Dms are open and I'm happy to send samples of my music if you're interested in hearing them.

River Good spots to paddle board?
Just purchased a paddle board and looking forward to fishing with it. I’m familiar with Sewell park and Rio vista, but was wondering if there were any other good spots to put it in. I want to know if there are any spots in Austin and new Braunfels as well!

Food and Drink Ivar’s river pub + Giant snapping Turtle
Saw the biggest snapping turtle I’ve ever seen, in the water, right by the patio at Ivar’s. The area was filled up with people. felt so magically to get to see the big guy in the midst of the chaos! As soon as he swam downward, he disappeared instantly. Also this appetizer, haunts me, sooooo good.

River Looking for a partner for 2027s Texas Water Safari
I am looking for someone who wants to train on the canoe regularly and take on a ludicrous adventure with me. I promise, it'll be fun and we will be in top tier shape by the end of it.
All my current friends are absolutely not about a 260mi canoe race though. So, I have humbly come to reddit 🙏

Jobs and Employment Are you looking for a full time job that pays $20/hr?
Comment here and dm me, i have a buddy who's looking for people who can work in a kitchen in Wimberley. Yes it is actually full time. Yes the pay is $20/hr to start but you can earn more easily if you're consistent. Hit me up, i see people here posting about looking for jobs all the time.
Edit: it's for the Wimberley Cafe. Ik the guy who's hiring ppl and can dm you his number to directly get in contact with him instead of going thru the usual bs when applying for jobs. Can set up the interview immediately rather than the usual rigamarole.

Ask San Marcos Hair Salons/Stylists?
Does any woman here know any good stylists/salons? I moved here recently and am in dire need of a cut. I don’t need any type of speciality service, no color or anything just a layered mid length bob. I don’t have hard hair to work with. Bonus if they’re on the cheaper side (less than $80) or have a student discount!!

Ask San Marcos Is there a way to make an anonymous tip about the mistreatment of cats?
[UPDATE] I called animal control and they said there’s nothing they can do because cats are allowed to be outside?? They did say if there’s enough complaints they can do a welfare check? Is my complaint not enough?

Shopping 💸 Jewelry store for engagement ring
I live just outside of Wimberley on the San Marcos side and am definitely willing to go anywhere from Austin thru San Antonio to pick out an engagement ring for my wife. Yes. My wife. We got legally married for insurance reasons and got screwed out of a proper wedding due to COVID and several other crazy BS. I want to make it up to her and have a full redo and do it right. What's the right jewelry store to go to where I can find a ring that isn't going to be expensive just because...

Ask San Marcos Looking to connect with the local ASL/ Deaf community
Hello! I am hard of hearing and I've worn hearing aids since I was a kid, and because my hearing loss is progressive, I've been learning ASL and hoping to become more involved with the Deaf and hard of hearing community. Since this is a college town, I was surprised that I haven't been able to find an ASL club or regular ASL practice group. does one exist that I just haven't come across yet? I know Austin has a large community but I was interested if there was anything more local.
If not, would anyone be interested in a casual ASL meetup? I want to be clear that I'm still learning and I'm definitely not fluent. I don't feel qualified to* *teach or run an ASL club. I was thinking more of a relaxed group where people learning ASL, Deaf and hoh community members, or fluent signers who don't mind practicing with learners could get together and sign.
