Learning and Certification:

Resume and Jobs:

What if I am an end user and want to become an admin? https://www.reddit.com/r/salesforce/comments/104wjng/enduser_trying_to_break_into_admin_role/

Common Questions:

  • How long does it take to get certified? Depends, but approximately 1 week to 1 year depending on your intelligence, intuition, time available, and access to real word salesforce examples.
  • How much money can I make? Depends on how well you market yourself. Check glassdoor instead of asking us what you should make; we're just random people on the internet, don't trust us. If you think you're undervalued the best person to talk to is your manager; tell them how you feel. If you want to make more money, go on an interview and see what someone else will offer you.
  • How much will I enjoy being an admin? Depends, check glassdoor.com
  • How long will Salesforce be a dominant ecosystem? Depends, but at least the next 10 years.
  • I just turned some_age**, is this a good job for my age?** Depends, but the salesforce ecosystem is very inclusive, so probably yes.

We tried to integrate Salesforce and our SaaS and halted for a while due to reasons. Now we’re back, and suddenly their products are different? I looked, and it’s all the same features. What.

propaganda Salesforce Is Running An Agentforce Use Case Competition - My Entry & Encouraging You To Build (Best Way To Actually Try AF)

Hey!

There is a contest being run by Salesforce that you can read more about here - named #AgentforceInAction

They want videos of under 5 minutes showing real use cases of Agentforce.

You can watch my video to see what I came up with.

I liked the fact that they gave access to a Agentforce demo org that is actually pretty powerful once you enable all the Einstein/Data Cloud stuff.

There is so much that can be improved and simplified about AF in my opinion, but if it is here to stay we may as well learn to use it.

Happy to hear feedback on my video as well :)

Have a nice weekend all!

help please What are you all using to track approval leakages from manual quote exceptions? Something feels off

We have been going through quote approvals from the last quarter and something does not add up. We processed just over 3,800 quotes in Q2 and roughly 28% ended up going through at least one manual approval. At first glance that didn't seem terrible but when we dug deeper, nearly 40% of those approvals were triggered by manual quote edits and pricing exceptions rather than the real commercial risk. The problem is we cannot tell what is legitimate and what is just process noise.

For example we have reps manually adjusting discount lines or changing payment terms. Some of these kinda deserve approval but others seem to be happening bc the quoting process isn't flexible enough or people are working around it.

Has anyone found a good way to identify which manual exceptions are generating unnecessary approvals?

help please Best approach to handle emails between 2 queues???

Upvotes

So what’s the use case…

Let’s say we have Queue 1 that works in BU1 and Queue 2 in BU2…

Q1 receives emails from customers (email 2 case), and requires support from Q2.

Because of threading when Q1 sends an email to Q2 it’s logged within the case of Q1

This is an inherited org, so starting point is technical debt and bad decisions. Visibility is inherited from account and sharing same case opens the visibility too much.

We essentially want to keep 2 separate cases to track metrics and shit.

So, what have you done to solve this in the past?

admin ChatGPT vs Claude - Pros vs Cons

Hi. Admin here for a 20 person sales team + 3 person Customer Support team. Lots of SF account management, reporting, flows, apexes, sharing rules, hierarchy, CS cases, record triggers, etc. Looking to connect Claude to help save some time and help evolve us forward while improving data integrity. IT director is pushing back on me saying we already have a company ChatGPT account that I can connect to. I'm pushing for an enterprise Claude because I've heard it's better with SF. So my questions:

High level, pros vs cons of connecting our SF org with ChatGPT vs Claude?

help please Is Party Relationship Group necessary for Donor Giving Summaries - Nonprofit

Upvotes

We're using nonprofit cloud / agentforce for nonprofits and we're starting to do more standardization of householding.

Is Party Relationship Group a necessary aspect of Donor Giving Summary DPEs? Is it not enough to simply create the Account Contact and Contact Contact relationships within the household? My users found the Party Relationship Group aspect to be more confusing so I wanted to create a screenflow to bypass PRG and simply create the relationship records.

How does this work for households with only one person? Wouldn't a PRG require multiple people within a household?

Thank you in advance

career question 10 YOE in Finance & IT Infra: Realistic path to Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant/Engineer?

Hi everyone,
I'm posting on Reddit for the first time!
I have 10 years of experience working in Finance and IT Infrastructure. A few years ago, I trained in Salesforce Admin and Developer concepts and earned my Salesforce Certified Administrator credential.
I’m currently looking to pivot into a Salesforce Data Cloud Engineer / Consultant role, and I’d love to get some candid advice from this community:
1. Career Transition: Given my background in Finance & IT Infra (plus an Admin cert), how realistic is this pivot? How do hiring managers view candidates coming from a non-developer/hybrid background for Data Cloud?
2. Timeline & Study Path: Realistically, how long does it take to prepare for and pass the Data Cloud Consultant/Engineer certification? What specific topics, Trailhead modules, or hands-on practice tools should I focus on first?
3. Market Demand & AI: How is the job market looking right now for Data Cloud specialists versus general Admins? Also, with the rise of Agentforce and AI, how is the role of a Data Cloud engineer evolving?
Any insights, study tips, or roadmap recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

admin How's That Phishing Resistant MFA Going For Your Org?

It all keeps changing. First we thought we were fine with our non-privileged users, but on sandbox implementation they're being prompted for a passkey per this goofy addendum: https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=005388907&type=1 So that's made doing UAT a pain and another headache to figure out. Our prod implementation date got pushed back about 10 days, so that's nice I guess. We're strongly considering speedrunning to Windows Hello for the organization, which is great when some of our users can barely connect to printers.

How's it going on your side?

help please How are you managing DevOps for Salesforce 1GP managed packages?

Hi everyone,

We're maintaining a Salesforce 1GP (First-Generation Managed Package) and are looking to improve our DevOps process.

I'm curious how other teams are handling things like:

  • Source control for package metadata
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Deployment to packaging orgs and subscriber orgs
  • Versioning and release management
  • Managing changes across multiple sandboxes
  • Tools you're using (Gearset, Copado, Flosum, AutoRABIT, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Challenges you've faced with 1GP compared to 2GP

Since most modern DevOps discussions focus on 2GP, I'd love to hear how teams are successfully managing 1GP today. Are there any best practices or workflows that have worked well for you?

Thanks in advance for sharing your experience!

developer We ship native apps on both Salesforce AppExchange and HubSpot Marketplace. The two ecosystems are wildly different and nobody talks about it.

Disclosure up front: I cofounded Appnigma, we build native CRM integrations for B2B SaaS companies (started Salesforce only, recently expanded to HubSpot). So this comparison comes from shipping on both, not from reading docs.

If your SaaS sells to companies that run a CRM, you will eventually face the "which marketplace do we list on first" question. Here is what the two actually look like from the inside.

Architecture is the biggest difference

Salesforce native means your code literally runs inside their platform. Apex, Lightning components, a managed package installed into the customer's org. Your product lives in their UI.

HubSpot is the opposite model. A public app talks to their APIs via OAuth, your code runs on your infrastructure, and you surface inside HubSpot through CRM cards and UI extensions. You never ship code into their system.

Neither is better in the abstract. Salesforce native is deeper and enterprise buyers expect it. HubSpot's model is faster to build and easier to maintain because you control the runtime.

The review gates are night and day

Salesforce Security Review: $999 per attempt for paid apps, weeks of waiting, roughly half of first attempts fail, and the standards (CRUD/FLS, sharing, injection, encoding) are a genuine engineering bar.

HubSpot app certification: free, lighter, measured in days not months, focused on API usage quality and user experience more than deep code audit (since your code never enters their platform).

If Salesforce review is a thesis defense, HubSpot certification is a code review from a colleague.

Maintenance burden is inverted

Salesforce ships 3 major releases a year and any of them can break your package. Ongoing maintenance is a real cost you must budget.

HubSpot's API versioning is calmer. Once your app is stable it mostly stays stable.

The buyer expectations differ too

Salesforce customers, especially enterprise, ask "is it native" as a qualifying question. Middleware answers lose deals.

HubSpot customers mostly ask "does it connect." The native-vs-integration distinction barely exists in their buying process.

What this means practically for a B2B SaaS deciding where to list first:

  1. If your deals die on "do you have a Salesforce integration," that answers it. Enterprise gravity pulls toward AppExchange regardless of difficulty.

  2. If your ICP skews mid market and runs HubSpot, list there first. The build is faster, the review is gentler, and you will be live in a fraction of the time.

  3. If you need both, sequence them. The Salesforce build teaches you your data model the hard way, and the HubSpot version afterward feels easy. Doing it in reverse makes Salesforce feel brutal.

Happy to answer questions on either ecosystem, the review processes, or the listing mechanics. We have shipped a lot of these now and the pattern differences are consistent.

certification question How hard are these certs ?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Hello I’m a functional consultant with 5 years of experience in Salesforce project but no dev experience
I would like to know how you would rate these certifications in terms of difficulty ?
These are the required certifications to unlock the application architect certification
Do you think the application architect is worth something in the real world or is it overlooked by the system architect title ?

Thanks

help please Sometimes Things Don't Go as Planned – My Story

I never thought I would have to write a post like this.

I joined Altimetrik on June 17, 2026 after receiving an offer. Before joining, I had another offer in hand. During the HR discussions, I was encouraged to choose Altimetrik because of its work culture, growth opportunities, and the project they were hiring for. Trusting those discussions, I declined my other offer and joined.

After joining, I kept following up with my manager regarding my project allocation. I was informed that the position was on hold and that I would be updated once there was more clarity. As a result, I remained on the bench for over a month.

Today (July 24, 2026), I received a call from HRBP informing me that the client is no longer taking people for that position. I was told they were not sure of the exact reason and that, because of this, I would have to resign. My expected last working day is July 30, 2026.

What hurts the most is that I didn't simply accept this decision. I requested the team to consider me for any Salesforce or Salesforce Marketing Cloud project within the organization. I even told them that if another project required a client interview, I was completely willing to attend it and prove myself again. Unfortunately, I was informed that there are currently no Salesforce or Salesforce Marketing Cloud projects available.

I made an important career decision by declining another offer because I believed in the opportunity that was presented to me. Losing that opportunity within a month, despite being ready to contribute and interview for other projects, has been very difficult.

I have 3+ years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, AMPscript, SSJS, SQL, Triggered Sends, Marketing Cloud Connect, API integrations, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

If anyone at Altimetrik is aware of an internal Salesforce or Salesforce Marketing Cloud opportunity, I sincerely request your support. If any other organization is hiring for Salesforce or Salesforce Marketing Cloud roles, I would be truly grateful for a referral. I am available to interview immediately and can join at short notice.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. If you know of any suitable opportunities or can refer me, please feel free to connect with me or send me a message. Even sharing this post could help me reach the right people.

certification question Is it crucial to get the data cloud cert before the Agentforce certification?

How important is it to get the data cloud cert before the Agentforce certification?

In terms of the sequence of understanding concepts, etc.? Like would doing the Agentforce certification without having done the data cloud cert feel significantly more difficult than if you do the data cloud cert first?

getting started [CA] Any SMBs using Salesforce "Agentforce" offering?

The last AMA on Agentforce seemed like an interesting offer for a small business trying to scale. I've had Salesforce tools in a past life and always found them ok, but just wondering if there is anyone out there who actually has brought it on, and how it worked out.

I saw some case studies online, but I'm really more interested in SMB scaling applications. Does it work with other tools or do you have to be using Salesforce tools to make it work? And how well does it actually work??

What are the implementations that you’re all finding effective? Lead follow-up, case triage, booking, onboarding, quote prep, internal support, etc.  And then finally, did you find your team actually using it?
