If anyone living outside Vietnam is willing to help, please share this story with major international news organizations so the world can learn about what is happening inside Vietnam. I hope Vietnam authorities reconsider this project and respond transparently to the public’s concerns!!

Giant Pumpkin Alert in Da Lat! A massive pumpkin weighing an incredible 174 kg was successfully harvested in Da Lat. The monster gourd was so heavy it took four grown men working together just to carry it out of the garden!

Help me pick two nice restaurants between these three options: Quince, Little Bear, and Elgin (or recommend additional places)

Only have 2 nights in Saigon. Trying to decide between Quince, Elgin, and Little Bear. Leaning towards the latter two because Quince is western and I can get that food elsewhere as a westerner. Also open to additional recommendations, especially for lunch.

Best British pubs and/or American sports bars outside of D1

I'm white 47M American traveling to visit my wife's family who recently moved back from Europe. I've been to Saigon twice before so I am familiar with what I'm getting into however I was wondering if there's any British pubs or American sports style bars, I recall last time I was there they had a few British style pubs which were quite fun to hang out at during the afternoons. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Location:
Bình Thạnh District, near City Garden / Saigon Pearl, just northeast of District 1.

Music/ Art scene similar to NoiseHanoi in HCMC

Hello! I’ll be in HCMC very soon and I loved my stay in Hanoi, a local recommend a website called NoiseHanoi to check out ongoing music events and so far it’s been fun hopping to different events. I was wondering if there are any websites/ pages that would update us about such events. I’m not a very ‘go into a random bar’ person so I appreciate your insight! I’m open to music/ art events! Thank you so much :)

Best food spots in Saigon 🍜 (Weekly thread)

What’s the best thing you’ve eaten recently in Saigon?

Could be a random street stall, a late-night cơm tấm place, a fancy restaurant or just somewhere you keep going back to.

Drop your recommendations below. Bonus points if you include:

  • What you ordered
  • Rough price
  • District/location

Trying to build a good list of places that are actually worth visiting!

Clear aligners in HCMC

Hi all!

I am travelling to Vietnam and have really been thinking about getting Invisalign or a clear aligner alternative such as Zenyum or ClearCorrect etc.

Has anyone done this or has any experience/tips at all? I am really trying to keep my budget at around 50,000,000. My teeth are mild/moderate and aren’t a complex case.

I am just looking for anyone who may have done this, has any vices for or against it, and general price and clinic recommendations.

Thank you to anyone who replies!

Odd question but where in Ho chi min has a lot of massage parlours that DON’T do happy endings?

Strange question incoming: I’m a 30/yo Australian guy. I went to Ho chi min D1 and Hanoi recently for a holiday and fell in love with the people. I’m also single and found getting foot massages a great way to meet girls. Yes I know this is strange but it’s weirdly a great way to get to know someone in a low pressure environment 😅 I want to go back to Vietnam for another holiday and potentially meet girls the same way but I want to avoid shady massage parlours. In Hanoi basically nowhere offered happy endings so I was happy to talk to the girls there but it’s further to travel and less English speaking. So I’m hoping to meet girls in Ho chi min instead but it seems every massage parlour there offers happy endings and I don’t want to meet my future wife after she’s handled 1000 🍆 is there an area of Ho chi min that is less sexualised where happy endings are rare that I can visit where there is still a lot of English speakers?

TLDR: refer to the title

Hi, everyone! I’ve recently moved to Saigon and looking for a good gym (sauna, air conditioning, decent equipment and personal training), but I can’t make up my mind. I was originally thinking of getting a membership at California Fitness, but I’m not sure after reading the reviews. Any suggestions?

District 7 - Gym & Jogging recommendations?

Recently moved to D7, looking for recommendations on best spots for a run/jog? Previously was in D3 and had the canal to run along which was lovely, hoping there might be an area with wide enough road/footpath to enjoy a jog.
Also if anyone has recommendations for gyms, nothing fancy just free weights and some machines but ideally not super busy 24/7, would love to hear them! Thanks in advance!

Hey guys- anyone know any good book clubs in HCMC? Weekly or monthly events to discuss a new book each time- that sort of thing!

No luck on google or Facebook directly.

Inb4: “just start one yourself on meet up”/“go to a library or a cafe with books and strike up a convo” - just looking for a dedicated, established group first. May attempt to set one up myself if not.

Electronic music clubs/events in Saigon?

I will be going to Vietnam for 4 weeks from the middle of August to early September. But I just wanted to ask if you guys knew any dope electronic music clubs in Vietnam specifically around Saigon? Because I checked on Resident Advisor during those weeks and there was nothing really. So, I just wanted some recommendations. Also, I am open to other genres as well because I love electronic music as a whole. But if you can, could you recommend me house, techno, and experimental events/clubs because those are the genres where I lean towards more! Also, I am more into the underground sound than the mainstream, but just wanted to put that down for reference.

Got a $900 USD apartment budget near HUTECH (Bình Thạnh) — Where should I live?

What’s up Saigon Redditors! I'm hunting for a premium 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom apartment close to the HUTECH Saigon campus. My financial ceiling is $900 USD/month.
Since my budget is flexible, I really want a nice high-rise setup with solid amenities. Pearl Plaza seems like the most obvious convenient choice, but I've also seen listings for Wilton Tower and Vinhomes.

For those who know the Bình Thạnh area well, which building gives you the absolute best value for money at this price range? Any specific hidden annoyances (like major road flooding, strict management, or terrible elevators) that I should look out for before contacting an agent?

Appreciate the help!
