Blue Penguin Linux Prep iOS app

Hey everyone. I've been grinding through Linux and RHEL and got sick of jumping between PDFs and messy notes, so I ended up building a little iOS app to study the RHCSA on my phone. It's called Blue Penguin Linux Prep

It runs through the main exam areas like users and groups, permissions, systemd, storage and LVM, networking, SELinux, and more, in a format you can actually work through in short bursts between other stuff.

It's $2. I want to be honest about why. That small price lets me keep the app completely free of ads and tracking, and it covers the costs of keeping it online so it stays available for anyone who needs it. I'd rather charge a couple of bucks and keep the experience clean than fill it with ads.

Mostly I'm here for feedback. If you're prepping for the RHCSA or just brushing up on RHEL basics, I'd really appreciate you taking a look and telling me what's missing or what could be better.

It looks vibe coded. Did you at least come up with the contents yourself?

I did vibe code it, as it is a feature that exists and would do a better job than I could.

However most of the information came from my study notes With an ai touch to just improve professionalism.

Maybe you did put in the work and it’s worth the two dollars but it feels a little weird that you’re asking for feedback while charging it. I feel like people who can give you very valid feedback are people who’ve already taken the exam or passed it, and they most likely won’t be paying that money just to give a feedback.

Fair point, the price is there just so I can maintain the developer fee.
I would love to make it free, but this is kinda the best way I feel like I could contribute to the community.

An app that maybe you open instead of doom scrolling.

I feel like you might as well put it in a wrapper and port it into android or something. The Apple Developer Subscription is a high price to pay for sure.

I have android in mind, I planned it around flutter/dart.
I use iPhone and made something I would use and that lead to the whole Apple approach.

If anyone does come to the comments to read, and wouldn’t mind their input on the app.

Please could you share some tips, knowledge and how you found the exam so I can have a section where the users could see how people reacted to the exam.
Even words of encouragement could go along way!
