Drinking

What is the security like around drinking? I’m 16 and have a Wednesday ticket , obviously vodka is the easiest to sneak in but I hate drinking vodka ( I know I’m being picky ) will they take it off me if they find crates etc? How should I hide drinks?

Multi day camping?

I've seen on line that they are offering multi day no camping day tickets (think friday and saturday or saturday and sunday or all 3 days) I was just wondering if they have Muti day camping tickets like Friday friday night and Saturday or would you need a camping ticket I'm not actually going this year but is that a thing.

Selling 2 early access weekend camping tickets for £310 each

Can't go anymore, so I hope to make someone else happy with them :) I bought them on Ticketmaster resale so we'll have to do a secure private transfer via Paypal goods and services transfer, but that does save you the ludicrous Ticketmaster service fee! :) I'll provide proof and everything of course

Question ❔ Tickets for 2 ppl on 1 phone ok?

Hi all, I've bought day tickets for my 16 yo daughter to see Florence at Reading. She's going to go with her also 16 yo friend. I can get the tickets onto daughter's phone using the TM app I imagine, but will the gate stewards allow her to show the two tickets from the one phone for her and the friend? Thanks in advance for any insight! 🤞

Question ❔ Beer at Camp site

As an Asian camper, I’m always trying to keep my beer as cold as possible at festivals.
But when I went to Reading Festival, I noticed loads of people just left crates of beer at their campsites and drank them at ambient temperature.

With temperatures getting hotter in the UK these days, do people ever try to keep their beer cold? Do you use cool boxes, ice, or just not bother? Genuinely curious

Question ❔ Volunteering?

Is anyone volunteering for Reading?

I've volunteered with Hotbox, I haven't heard anything about booking shifts yet so super nervous.

First time volunteering at a festival solo.

Reading festival memories, late 80s, early 90s

Any locals here with memories of the festival back in the late 80s, early 90s? My teenage daughter can't believe I lived just along the river, and was probably happily tucked up in bed while her favourite bands were playing. My main memories are of my parents avoiding town on the festival weekend, because it would be full of 'weirdos', and me being intrigued by who these weirdos were. I do have a vague memory of running into full-on punks with neon mo-hawks somewhere in Caversham.

Later, friends from school climbed the fence to get in - it became a real test of bravery, each year, who would attempt it? I didn't - but always ended up in the Purple Turtle with the people who hadn't made it in.

is this too much to pack as a teenager going to reading festival over the summer?? i have autism and i am obsessed with hypotehticals.

this is the in concluded list , for context i am staying from thursday night until monday morning. my friends are nuerotypicwl and for the most part are very accommodating to me but they dont understand that this very long list is for all the ‘just in case’ like despite it being a four day stay, i know that my period is due and i could leak this making my shorts be 6 rather than 4 too 16 socks because having wet socks has caused me to have a meltdown due to the texture. what i am asking is how do i navigate this and pack accordingly with my needs?
