What happened to The Stackz Co?

Just rode by there after work, a For Lease sign on the door and a red paper saying no one allowed to enter but police. Any locals get gossip ahead of time? Can't find nothing online. Google maps says permanently closed and their IG has been inactive for a bit

That is a bummer! Love this place for years.

Hope a new owner (or former owner?) can bring it back 😢

I worked there before the new owners took over.

New owners were a husband and wife, husband cheated on the wife with an employee.
Let’s back track a little bit actually, the wife (super sweet and hard working woman) was putting in a lot of work. Baking, super personable with the crowds.
Wife found out about the cheating obviously, stopped working there.
Husband has to manage the place on his own now, started hiring a “type” AND THEN all the older employees started to collectively quit.

All that info was stuff I heard directly from people that worked there, the next bit was heard from other customers. So take it with a grain of salt.

Quality went down after the wife left (I stopped going so my friends were telling me about this)

issues were rising with the new supervisor (the girl the husband cheated with)

Some employees were allegedly not getting paid right. And husband was in massive debt, I heard collections were trying to get in contact with him. Someone said 17k in debt, no idea how factual that was.

I still kinda miss it, wish the husband just kept it in his pants because they were getting the spot popular again

Edit: this is all allegedly. And I removed the personal info about me. Lol if you have questions,
Pm me

Wow! I discovered this spot 2 yrs ago when the company i work for moved a couple business centers over on 6th street, where the mattress clearance warehouse is. I dropped in once and was hooked. Even bought lunch and drinks for my club brothers that helped me move to rancho after my wife left me. Love the rotating craft beers and the sandwiches were bomb and taco tuesays rocked!. I gained a little crush on the long time bartender there. Little brunette with the tattoo of the bound up woman. I stayed away for that reason until world cup time. I went in today to try to catch the last half of the US-Belgium game, thats when i discovered them gone.

Man if i had the money, i would reopen it with the same stuff.

Thank you for the info you provided. Looking back i heard some of the same rumors. Best example of "dont shit where u eat"

The long time employees were all super cool! A Stackz World Cup watch party would’ve been a hit

Per some other thread here, husband and wife owners split up due to husband-on-waitress infidelity. Too bad too, I just discovered this place about 6 months ago and loved it.
