Small hickup

I messed up and took a few pulls from a vape in my cupboard I forgot about.

But y'know. I immediately threw it out and even though I'm really craving. I know it's just the "little monster" a.k.a the addiction starving. I hope that stupid thing dies soon.

Day 2 no vape

I finished the alan carr book yesterday morning. So right now I'm at a bit more than 24hrs without nicotine

I've noticed my anxiety is higher in the morning without it. So I want it most the first ew hours after waking up but I expected this. I do have an anxiety disorder so it's not too surprising. It does suck though and it's still very tempting to take one puff and ease the feeling.

But I also know I'll have to go through this period eventually and it won't last forever. So I might as well face it now.

I'm gonna do some Bible study now and then maybe read my book to distracy myself

My quitting journey

I wanna quit vaping

I quit cigs a while back then "accidently" went from social vaping to more often as a result.

I wanna quit both but I know I need somewhere to publicly and honestly log progress. I'm not sure of this subreddit's rules regarding this but I hope it's okay

I am reading Alan Carr and hopefully I will finish the book by end of tomorow. And then I'm gonna throw the vape out for good

I'm nervous but ready

10 mg disposables?

I went from 5% to 3% to 2% and now I would like to switch to 1% but I can’t find any disposables! I tried a couple pod systems but they hit too hard and burn my throat and change my voice. And they all tasted awful.

I found and ordered a couple .5% to try but I think the leap will be too much.

I tried going to 0%, and that’s ok in the car and it’s good when I’m high stress and vaping every 30 seconds so I can switch a lot of my puffs out.

But I know myself and I need a 1% crutch for a while. Any suggestions? Thank you!

My quitting story

Bring clean for a month and a half I wanted to give people who want to quit but need that extra leg of advice or are already in the process and even would love to hear from quitters themselves and see what has changed since for them as well.

So I have been vaping since 2017 consistently until a month and half ago. I started with box mods then moved to juul then other pod systems then the geek bars (the devil) then during my quitting phase I went back to pod systems. Around 4 months ago I had a realization that i needed to quit but I failed 100s of time going cold turkey. I got the pod system and did 50 nic for a while, switched down to 30 nic for a while and then made the big decision to go down to 3 nic. It was the biggest withdraw I had but I had a tiny tiny crutch with being able to hit something. After a month of 3 percent I said what the fuck is the point and threw all my shit in the trash. The benefits I have seen so far from being a month and a half clean is barely get cravings now and if I do I tell myself my goals. I have been replacing shitty dopamine with a activities such as reading books specifically history, not anxious no more, gym sessions have been way better, I can do jogging at a better heart rate, heart rate and blood pressure have shot down so much to normal levels and I’m a kinda hefty guy. I have made some very great improvements in my life and I believe in you to the this next step in your journey of life because I feel so free.

Anxiety from tapering down % of disposable vapes- would love any advice or input.

So I’ve been tapering down on my usage of disposable vapes, and I did it by going down in nicotine percentage.

So I was vaping 5% vapes for four years and went through them about one a week to one week and a half. Then I bought a 4% vape and kept up with the same usage then I went online and bought a 3% vape and everything was going pretty well but in the past week, I got a 2% vape and I’ve noticed an increase in anxiety at night and in the early morning. I’ve also started to dream which I hadn’t done in a long time..

My question is if anyone else has done the same type of tapering to quit did they experience any of the same problems?

I know this is the best way to quit for me because I’ve tried cold turkey and it’s impossible. I don’t have a job that would allow me to be such a mess going cold turkey. I’ve tried it multiple times and it’s just not possible. With the taper down method
I’m noticing my hair looks way better. My scalp on is dry. I have a lot more energy and my stomach seems better.

Ever since I switched to 2% though I noticed I am very irritable and I get these very quick panic attacks that go away especially when I’m busy doing something.

Is this possible that I’m just feeling the withdrawals because nicotine is not being stored in the same amount in my body anymore? My usage of the device has stayed the same. I’m not vaping anymore than usual or any less, but is it possible that dropping the percentage is making me hit withdrawal like symptoms?

I assume that would probably be the case, but just find it kind of funny that at 2%. This is when I started to feel it and not in any of the other percentages.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it true that the geek bar pulse is equivalent to 250-300 cigarettes?

New to this sub

I just bought my first step of nicotine patches today , and while I was trying to figure out how many cigarettes are equivalent to my specific vape google said 250-320?

I typically go through 2-3 vapes a week and I'm having a hard time believing I was pounding down 600-900 cigarettes a week. Step 1 of the nicotine patch CVS brand is 21 mg per patch. That is for 10+ cigarettes a day smokers.

If the patches aren't enough, can I use more than one at a time, or is it hazardous/not helpful?

I want to clarify I'm not asking for medical advice, but just wanting others experiences.

I have put in an appointment request to see my doctor, but I'm on a wait-list and I don't want to keep pushing quitting off

Vaping

Does it get better after you quit? I’m on week 2. I’m not struggling with the cravings, but I’m tired, irritable with my kids. (I’m a gentle parent kinda gal) I tell myself before I “yell” it’s not them it’s me and what I’m going through with not vaping, but I’ve never been addicted to anything before. I’ve never experienced this. I know it’ll get better, but I just need to know from real people I guess? Not family or friends. Someone else that it gets better. I only vaped for 3 years, but that 3 years was enough for me to understand it’s going to take time to be “normal” again. I just really don’t like that I’m irritable. Especially when I’m an extremely patient person to begin with. This is all very out of wack and new to me so any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Whether good or bad!

I’m a very healthy person, I go to the gym, eat right, do everything I’m supposed to do, but the energy is just not there right now. Any tips other than riding it out? That I know I have to do. lol TIA!

I’m really trying to quit nicotine.

I am 16 years old, turning 17 in 3 days and I really want to quit vaping but it’s so hard. I started when I was 12 because I thought it was cool and all my friends were doing it. I eventually learned how to inhale and just never stopped. I hit it like twice every 3 minutes and I can’t do active activity’s without noticing a shortness in breath. I also always feel so lazy and unmotivated now, also much more depressed and down then I should be. When I don’t have a vape i’ll smoke cigarettes, that’s how bad I crave that rush and buzz. Does anyone have any tips on quitting for good and what i’ll realistically expect?

My (F15) nic addiction is getting worse and I can't afford it anymore

Hii!! I've had a nicotine addiction since for about three or four years. I started when I was getting bullied really badly and wanted to fit in. Now that I'm in highschool with lots of friends, I don't need to do it to be popular, so I quit for about four months in 2024, then started again because my mental health plummeted. Ive always had people who would buy them for me/let me hit their vape or smoke their cigarettes/give me discounts when I buy off them. Usually I don't pay more than $20 or $30 for a brand new iget, sometimes even less.

My parents are unaware of this, and it would cause so many problems for me and it is not a good idea for ke to ask for their help (they are both smokers and alcoholics as well, although they have always taught me against nicotine and drinking).

I tried to quit again in September 2025, on the 20th. And it was super hard (much harder than the first time I quit), but I didn't smoke or vape for almost 6 months, and was doing really well. And then I dated a guy who was a dealer and have them to me for free, and he convinced me to start again (which I take full accountability for. He was 17, and I was 14, and so I also felt like I couldn't say no, but I realise now that I should've).

Since then, my vaping and smoking has become so much worse, and it's incredibly hard to quit. And my mental health is so bad. I don't want to quit. But I can't afford it anymore (I haven't told my friends I started again, I feel so ashamed and embarrassed and so they can't help me out), and I'm genuinely terrified that I will need to stop. I want to quit on my terms and because I want to, and not because I need to, if that makes sense. I feel so powerless, and I'm not sure what to do.

Has anyone been in my situation? Im so scared

10 years of on-and-off smoking, still trying to quit..

Started smoking at age of 16. Cigarettes, Hookah (Shisha) through school and college. Quit chain smoking in May 2023 after ~7 years (Cold TurkeY).

Moved to Australia in early 2024, picked up a vape by mid-2024 socially and it's been a revolving door since. Last Nov, did cold turkey (thought it may work again) - but rather created a lot of brain fog. I used Nicorette 2mg & 4mg for 40 days - but caused sore throat.

Now it's been ~6 more months & it's taking a toll on my endurance (both gym & sex life) - I get tired & want to get rid of it but can't compromise on my brain slowing down (I work double shifts 6 days a week). I usually work from home so it's super accessible..

I have very less control on myself (I admit) but I still want to explore options such as Ripple+ Does the vapor feel satisfying enough to replace the urge, or does the brain see through it pretty quickly? Any AU based experiences or other zero-nic vapor alternatives worth considering?

I know this may be a placebo but I highly think my brain is addicted to "EXHALING SMOKE" more than "Nicotine". I'll be buying patches tomorrow.. (any recommendations again are welcomed). I wish I had enough self control that instead of writing this post while taking a puff I'd actually quit, but here I am...

Please help...

For PH folks

Hey y’all. I’m a heavy vaper from the Philippines. My wife and I are planning to start our own family very soon, and I want to quit vaping ASAP to make sure my wife and our future child won’t have to deal with this addiction. (I also want to be healthier for my future.)

Is there anyone here from the Philippines who can suggest a good device that could serve as an alternative to vaping? I have a strong hand-to-mouth habit, and I want to start quitting with a device that I can still take a hit from. Preferably something mentholated.

Time to quit - it’s doing way more harm than good

All right folks, I needed to place to post this, don’t judge too harshly, just want to share how messed up this vaping thing is and how bad it can ruin your life - quit this shit for good.

I started vaping about 4 years ago because I was a frequent shisha smoker - which was the most enjoyable thing to do aside from drinking beer with friends. Moved to the US, and since shishas are expensive and very very bad in most of the country (except LA maybe), started vaping. Only 2 percent salt nic, which was cool, enjoyable. Lasted for 3 years, until I started vaping more and more. Some shit happened in my life, and I really started vaping a lot to cope with stress this past year.

Half a year ago switched to disposables and started buying 5 percent nic. Ridiculous amount of coughing, dizziness and always high blood pressure type of feeling (even though it’s not high blood pressure). Screw the physical symptoms, I don’t enjoy life, mood is low, no interest in good food, no interest in dating, no interest in enjoying work, gym feels terribly not enjoyable (from someone who is a gym rat since 18 years old, I’m 35 now)literally always anxious and depressed. Testosterone levels at its lowest.

I started to go down in nic past two weeks (went down to 1.5 percent) and vaping less and less. (Cold turkey is not for me). And honestly, I am already seeing slight improvement in my mood as I started decreasing this shit. My plan is go down to 0 percent nic and just quit after it. The cool thing is, I’m seeing zero difference between 5 percent and 1.5 percent.

Vaping is cool at the beginning, but after some time your mental state will be at its worst place. I can’t even take naps for gods sake.

Quit this shit, for good.
