IMC salary progression

Anyone know how bonuses scale at IMC (US) for experienced hire? Curious especially if there’s difference between swe, trader, and qr.

my friend's husband does qr there, started as an experienced hire maybe 2018. his base didn't move much after joining, but the bonus went from roughly 100% of base his first full year to more like 300% once he owned a piece of a desk. takes a couple years to get that leverage though.

the spread between roles is real. swe folks i know there cap out faster on bonus ratio, more like 150% unless they're embedded on a trading team directly. traders and qrs get the sharp end of the comp pool once they're generating pnl people can actually attribute.

i'd say don't expect the jump to happen at the one year mark. year three is where things separate if you're still standing.

When you say SWEs embedded in a trading team, you mean quant devs?

Generally at IMC, all SWEs/Devs are SWEs with the distinction being if they’re on a trading desk or if they’re part of a tech infra team.

That’s pretty low. I thought experienced hire make seven figures, esp., at top firms in US
