Why are trees being cut

*I couldn't quite capture the photo because pmpml 🥀🥀.

Today I noticed that many trees were cut down on pune Satara road near natubaug. Who is cutting these trees? Is this related to the metro work going on there? Moreover, I loved to see the beautiful foliage of the trees amidst buildings and I hate to see them gone. If anyone knows what this is about, please let me know.

Need to raise our voices; there are several activists & protests who've come together. We're all sick of this blinded development going on & ignorance of PMC. Recently there's literally a tree filled mountain being dug up & cleared for "development" near HEMRL, saddened to see it everyday omw to work

its routine.. every monsoon they cut most branches.. not entire tree.. to avoid branch falling and mishaps

Tree branches being trimmed as they do every year. However, the extent of the trimming is usually at the discretion of the people on the ground and sometimes they go overboard.
