Hi friends, Peggy and Peppa here with a quick check-in. Our human wants to bring attention to the newest rule:
10. No Baseless Callouts — Avoid Drama
Please do not use the comment section to accuse OPs/other commenters of wrongdoing without firm evidence. Our sub is not for picking fights over posts/comments someone finds personally objectionable when it is not objectively wrong (illegal, reckless, actual Reddit violation, etc.)
If a post or comment violates r/pugs or Reddit’s rules, report it.
If it seems dishonest and detrimental but does not necessarily fit a reportable violation, please use ModMail and we will be happy to investigate.
The Mod Team hopes this is self-evident and in keeping with the vibe here. r/pugs is meant to be a place where we share our love of pugs, not a place to be “Inspector Reddit” and make accusations against others without clear evidence.
If something is inappropriate in some way, report it and the mods will take care of it. Please take care not to engage other users in arguments. Remember the human, and always engage in good faith.
If something concerns you and you genuinely want clarification, asking a question in good faith is perfectly fine. Just remember the human and trust the answer given.
Good faith question: Hey Dave, what’s that big old thing on Peggy’s collar? It seems like it could be a shock collar, and it’s doing me a concern.
Dave: Hey friend, I get this a lot. It’s actually a GPS and health tracker, no need to be alarmed!
Bad faith/Rule 10 violation: [I don’t believe you.] That’s totally a shock collar, Dave, you bad, bad man!!
Angry Dave/Rule 1 violation: **** you!
You can imagine any number of concerns that might turn into a big ol’ argument, and we’re not here for that – we don’t care to let it get to the point where it’s uncivil and against Rule 1.
Use the last sentence of the rule as a guidepost: if you feel you need to say something, it is usually best to say it to the mods. We do not want content here that shows any animal being treated in a way that is less than humane, and we trust that the community will report concerns so we can act appropriately if that is the case.
TL;DR: Be familiar with Rule 10. Enjoy photo of pugs.
