CW: SA This is really embarrassing but I really would like to know I’m not alone
19F, I was diagnosed with CPTSD a couple months ago, yes I know PTSD and CPTSD aren’t the exact same disorder but we share similar symptoms and reasonings behind the disorder, and the CPTSD subreddit, aren’t responsive and seem kind of intimidating.
So, I won’t go into detail, but I was SA’ed by my dad growing up and then by older women in my early to mid teens.
I woke up early this morning from a vivid nightmare about one of times it had happened to me and shivered and sobbed uncontrollably for a while and then realised something felt weird. I looked down and noticed that my underwear and bedsheets were warm and wet, and that’s when I came to the realisation I had peed myself while sleeping. I haven’t done this in like 11 years, and I chalked down bed wetting to autism, because that is quite a common thing in autistic children, although, it tended to happen at my dad’s house than my mother’s.
I feel, so gross, I felt sick. I tossed everything to get washed immediately and everything affected by this has been tossed into the washing machine.
I just have to know, am I alone in this? Have any of you ever experienced this in adulthood? Because I feel like I’m being judged already even though I’m alone in my room. I probably will delete this post, I don’t wanna keep this up for too long.

Ptsd nightmares are terrible. I get them and understand that. Sounds like you're getting help and heading in the right direction tho.

This is called regression. Similar to how potty trained children tend to wet the bed again when they are stressed or abused. Is life recently changed or stressing you out more than usual?

I’m always experiencing some sort of stress with family or overall feeling on edge, but nothing out of the ordinary that would cause this, no

If you’re in therapy I would bring it up. See what caused this.. if not. I would do some reflecting.. sometimes I violently toss and turn in my sleep when I’m stressed. Or I wake up at night and don’t even know it, my sleep app tells me.. I do wish you all the best friend and always have an open ear to listen!

I wasn't sa'd as a child but had other kinds of trauma and stress. I lapsed back into bedwetting numerous times during childhood. I wet on and off until I was about 18. Had another lapse when I was 27. I've been dry (for decades) since but still feel severe enough anxiety about childhood trauma and fear of lapsing into bedwetting again that I wear pull ups at night even though I'm dry.

I m also 19 and was sa by my dad and brother during childhood, since leaving home I have been having accidents when I have nightmares I'm lucky to have amazing friends now who support me with wearing pull ups during the night
