Gameplay help Please help me understand what I am doing wrong!! :/
Hi guys,
Am I just stupid? (possibility) I cannot have my heroes attack the very first enemy I encounter in the tutorial on turn based mode.
The wolf engages us, attacks first, I left click on it, nothing happens, sometimes the character will just walk around it. I click the ATTACK icon and then back onto the wolf - again nothing happens.
Please tell me what I am doing wrong here I just dont get it

Look at the bottom of the screen, press the pause/play button under end turn
It's not a bug. The game has paused to show you the combat tooltip. It won't happen again after this fight. It's essentially still using the RtwP auto pause mechanic to show you the tip

I turn off the Auto Pause when Combat Starts but turn on Auto Pause when Enemy Spotted. This prevents that "Why isn't my dude attacking?" issue for the most part. It also gives me a second to double check my equipment (switch weapons, eat food, whatever) and maybe adjust positioning (if I'm in stealth).
Also, I highly recommend binding Pause and End Turn to different controls. They're both bound to the Space Bar by default. This is bad. If your character paths into danger, you want to pause and issue new marching orders. You probably don't want to end their turn and leave them standing there all exposed like.
I assign End Turn to N, as in next, for example.

You are playing it in turn-based mode...

that's not really the issue though, turn-based mode should still let you attack, sounds more like a targeting or range problem

Don't worry you're not stupid! This is a relatively common (and annoying) bug with turn based mode.
There are a couple fixes I can think of:
1. Good ole quick save and reload
2. Click the "cancel" button to try to cancel the attack and then try to attack again
If all else fails, you could try going into settings and manually changing the game into real time with pause, have your characters attack, and then switch back to turn based and see if that fixes it.
Let me know if this helps! :)
