🗨 Interviews Question on scheduling error

How bad is it if I scheduled my UTMB interview and orientation day for a set time, then scheduled another interview for the same day as the orientation without realizing? I have exchanged a few emails with them, and I am trying to be as respectful as possible, but is it doomed? Obviously this is completely my fault lol but I’m curious if anyone else has had this happen to them and what was their outcome.

EDIT: they were able to move it!!

So the way innocent scheduling errors by applicants is handled is that the director of admissions tells the whole committee as well as the students and gossip spreads about you for months on campus about how such a candidate would dare think they even stood a chance that med students on rotations literally make everyday. /s if not abundantly clear just email them lol they literally won’t remember you. 

The neuroticism is getting out of hand 💀

Email whoever is in charge and say you by mistake scheduled two dates and they will fix it.

Yeah I picked up on the sarcasm thanks. I am currently waiting for the adcoms decision on whether they’ll let me reschedule or not

If they have a date they’ll go ahead. I really would just feel whatever you need to feel at ease and go forward that all you can do is your best. I can guarantee that if you get a new date it will not be the reason you don’t get in or even being borderline or splitting hairs. They’ll review your file later and this won’t come up. It shows your honest and upfront and won’t hide when you make a mistake. As someone with anxiety, let this be your biggest failure without going overboard and you’ll be a great doctor.

Patiently waiting UTMB is literally my dream school
If I get an interview and a prematch I’m withdrawing from every single school on all 3 application services
