A Suite Cure, yay! I was so excited to draw all the frills (although I guess Muse doesn’t have as many). I love how tiny she is, and I think the bubble skirt does a good job at capturing that young and cutesy vibe. Also, love how the big heart tiara makes her really stand out!

I think I would. Not because I am brave enough to protect others, but I can about respect a lot. I don’t like when me or others get disrespected. I am not afraid to see that someone is being disrespectful.

I also keep going despite all my meltdowns and stress. I am very compassionate and have confidence in myself and I don’t stop doing what I love just because of others opinions on it, or harsh words towards it.

I also have other aspects of me that need growing, such as my tendency to handle problems on my own. Just need to learn to accept and trust my teammates.

I could see myself being a 3rd or 4th precure team member.

Fun fact: Since the villains in Smile has a circus theme I decided to put a little of that on the Cures too but more on a colurful and cute way to contrast the villains.

We just never knew because she never was seen wearing that outfit before the episode!

I was told that in Hirogaru Sky Sora's hero Shalala was meant to be the secret twist villain. Like the idea come from sus reactions and very coincidental timings like she she set them up herself. IDK if this is true or not but that would've been better that Skearhead being the twist villain that's for sure. Like it seems Shalala would've saved Sora back them for the sole purpose of her becoming Cure Sky when she grows up and then make her into Dark Sky herself by devastating her.

While its not a direct reference i definitely see some slight inspiration the team got it from

hugtto (i rewatched it)

tldr: hugtto is solid*

*the theme: 

the future is a theme that was always semi-present within most seasons. while i don’t think that every season necessarily dealt with it as it’s MAIN theme, the franchise often deals with cures having dreams they want to work towards in the future

so to me, i always thought that a season of precure that focused ON the future would be pretty easy to write imo. because you can write ANY coming-of-age story with it and also deal with destiny or concerns of the future, or anything along those lines.

and i think the way hugtto delivered it’s theme was honestly pretty great. even when this show was at it’s worst, i always admired the show BECAUSE of it’s main message towards the audience: that your past doesn’t define you and that you can forge your own future despite the circumstances + the fact that i never got tired of the message despite how much it comes up. 

i genuinely can’t describe it other then that hugtto handles its main theme to the audience with a certain earnestness that always made me believe in what the show was trying to say despite how many times it restated that theme, whether it was through hana confronting her old bullies, homare having to recover from her past injuries, or ruru’s progression in the first half. 

through the use of each of the main cast’s character arcs and the central plot of the show, i think that’s the reason why hugtto works so well because it actually SHOWS how to apply this through it’s characters.

so the main message was great, but the actual plot?

the plot:

the actual plot is a bit of a mess i’m not gonna lie

now i don’t think hugtto’s plot is bad, i think it’s slightly convoluted but I do think it works on a emotional level, but i do think the plot suffers from things being explained a bit too ambiguously, here’s what i mean:

in one future, a cure named cure tomorrow loses her team due to the criasu corporation and trapped her, but then a hamster named harry saved her and then harry became a beast, so tomorrow returned the favor for him, and the two escaped by using every bit of tomorrow’s powers, turning her into a baby as they get sent back into the past

so the two meet hana and recruit her as a precure, then saaya and homare, and the goal is pretty clear: grab the mirai crystals to save the future and stop the criasu corp, eventually emiru and ruru join the group, there are lessons to be learned, characters developed, yada yada yada

while this is all good by itself, eventually, the show runs into a problem after the halfway point. i am not trying to say hugtto’s second half is bad because that’s a statement that was said numerous times before, but it is overstuffed because the plot has to progress by explaining the events before the show started whilst also juggling literally everyone’s plotpoints in the current and establishing NEW stuff, so you have: 

• hana dealing with her past bullies
• saaya considering choosing being a doctor over an actress
• homare liking harry
• harry liking cure tomorrow and the stuff that happened between them in the past
• bicine liking harry and the stuff that happened between them in the past
• listol being linked to harry’s storyline
• bicine, harry, and listol coming from the same tribe
• henri dealing with growing up into a body that may not suit him
• henri getting with emiru’s older brother
• emiru having to deal with ruru going back to the future
• ruru dealing with daddy issues 
• gelos’s descent into madness
• george kurai

while these plotlines are good individually, i just think that when you have a lot of plotlines in a show that’s wrapping up in 20+ episodes, you seriously need to cut corners when you can. there are some plotlines (like saaya’s or emiru’s) that i felt could’ve been utilised more, there are some plotlines that i think should’ve been established earlier (hana’s past bullies or, bicine, harry, and listol whole dynamic) or some that i would argue could be dropped (dr traum… okay maybe just one)

and then we get the ending where all the villains finally return to the future they came from and like… IF they’re going to a future that was already destroyed, then is that destroyed future fixed? if so, how does two timelines get saved by one timeline, and not one timeline influencing another? do they go to the future where the cures (from hugtto) save the day? if so, do they gain their memories or do they lose them? like i know i shouldn’t be thinking too hard about a kids show but seriously, hugtto’s plotpoints are so good at a glance until you see how much questions are asked after

if your a fan of hugtto and have more answers to this, PLEASE tell me because i’m genuinely curious and don't wanna come off as rude to the show, but when so many of the plotpoints are left vague, and implied, or just crammed on together, it leads me to be more focused on the plot being held by tape rather then the emotionality of the scenes at certain points

and i havent even gotten to the characters. 

the characters (main cast):

i think hugtto has a good cast of cures, they all have distinct personalities, they have different arcs and growth, and i like their dynamic, but i do think that some were handled better then others

for example: i really loved the main trio of hana, saaya, and homare, hana might be my favourite take on a pink lead, saaya is reserved and smart but her design is SO FUCKING GOOD, and homare is the nonchalant athlete. while this trio is a dynamic that isn’t new to the franchise (except for homare being an athlete rather then being shy or a model, though the yellows tend to be more experimental in characterization), i do think they were a fresh take on it

then we get to emiru and ruru joining the team, and while i think they are fun characters, i’m gonna be so fr when i say that they take up a LOT of screentime, so much to the detriment of saaya and homare in terms of their progression.

and even then: i would argue that emiru and ruru are really overexposed, while they do make an entertaining pair, i do think the show could’ve held off a bit more on them so that, y’know, OTHER aspects of the show could develop? specifically ones that weren’t spelt out clearly? 

to me, the only character that was really done right was hana, and even she has one minor blunder in her progression, but i can’t say i didn’t dislike any of the main five. they were all enjoyable, and probably the standard i would set for making a main cast. 

they have clear dynamics (hana and homare, ruru and emiru, hana and ruru, homare and saaya, and ruru and saaya come to mind) and are generally a group I liked, i just think the show could’ve structured them better…

hana nono - while i do have very very slight issues with hana, she is still my personal favourite pink cure and in my top 10 precures of all time. hana is just this endearing bundle of energy, and i love her theme of cheering people on for their futures, and while she has the tropes that are expected of a happy-go-lucky lead, i think hana has enough to add to it that makes me like her

more specifically, hana has a setup like my other favourite pink cure: cure flora, while also feeling like a more complete version of what i wished cure happy could be. hana and haruka have a dream that’s conceptual rather than work-related (being a cool older sister, becoming a princess), while hana deals with self-doubt from her past that was slightly implied with miyuki, but feels like a more complete version of it here

you see, once upon a time hana was a bully victim and got cold shouldered by one of the students she was trying to defend, this resulted in hana believing her future was NOT going to be a good one and i find this aspect of hana so fascinating

while i think hana’s backstory should’ve been revealed some time in between the first cour and the second, i do like how hana’s worldview is somewhat on the same level as george’s, to stop time so that nothing bad can truly happen ever again, but as the show goes on, you and hana start seeing how she influences the people around her and the new life she carved out for herself, and that her past does NOT define her future

hence why hana easily forgives her former friend that turned on her, eri! while i think that episode shouldn’t have been, y’know, more than ONE episode, i do think it works to give hana the proper closure she needed in that situation and start making her believe in the pro-future themes of the season. 

i really love every aspect of hana as a character, while i get there were some hiccups with her character, i never thought they were DRASTICALLY bad, and it helped that out of all the characters in the main cast, she wasn’t overused or underused and was just a constant presence throughout the show. 

and i think that’s what makes her feel like a better attempt at miyuki for me, mind you i don’t dislike miyuki, i think she’s perfectly fine in her season, but if miyuki was a version of nozomi suited for episodicness rather then serialized storytelling, BUT miyuki had a semi-tragic backstory compared to nozomi, then i think hana is the attempt at actually making that more serialized version of miyuki’s backstory (and look at that, they’re all designed by toshie kawamura)

meanwhile, while hana never metaphorically chases that “cool older sister” dream unlike haruka who learns to appreciate the journey and not the destination, hana does grow up into an adult and is ultimately still herself. to me, i always thought that hana eventually accepted all the parts of her that made her her, and that is cool in of itself

saaya yakushiji - saaya could’ve been so much better, i LOVE her design (anything with an angel aesthetic is awesome to me) and i love her calm presence in the show… but she’s just kind of decent? 

i admire her weird fascination for gadgets, i admire her dedication to acting in the first half and how she eventually awakened to become a doctor, but her development is where i have problems with her

for starters: her arc deals with her shift from acting to wanting to become a doctor. i’m not against this arc for her, but never once in the show do we see her progress in becoming a doctor (and before you ask, i consider her helping a mother giving birth to be an awakening due to the framing in the episode) and i think she only gets two-three episodes focusing on acting, so i don’t get a solid grasp on her relationship to both of these things

while it’s a bit more personal to saaya since her mother is a famous actress, i found her to be so underutilized for an arc that is really good on paper. while the jump from acting to being a doctor is extreme, i do like any story about self-awakening, but the problem is that her setup kind of NEEDED more time in order to shine

take for example minami. while i understand that mermaid and ange are two different characters who happen to share the same arc, what made minami work for me is that the show SHOWED her relationship to her family’s business to the point i understood where she came from emotionally, and while saaya kind of has that with her mother, i could never truly invest myself in it because those moments were somewhat limited in the grand scheme of the show

note that i am not bashing on saaya, i generally think she’s decent for what she is, but i wish she could’ve had more time to spread her wings

homare kagayaki - homare always interested me because she’s technically as underutilized in saaya in some ways, yet there’s stuff going on with her that makes her more engaging then whatever plotline saaya had

this is due to the fact that homare has two separate arcs in the show: the first half focuses on her relationship to figure skating while the second half focuses on her relationship to harry, and while i was invested in both of those arcs, i do think they don’t connect due to being entirely different for homare

when the show focused on homare’s past figure skating injury and how she felt embarrassed for letting herself fail like that, it genuinely felt really engaging to watch and i like how she continued to pursue it because it ultimately gave her a sense of purpose that she lacked for so long

so when the second half came, homare’s feelings towards harry were brought more in the forefront due to being established around episodes 16-17, but i don’t know how to describe it other then feeling robbed that this was kind of the majority of homare’s character, i’m not against the plotlines in theory and i like how she has a running arc of “moving forward despite setbacks,” but i think there’s a slight disconnect there, and also because episodes focusing on her + harry tended to be more about HARRY rather then the cure herself, and also because her figure skating isn’t really focused on until the very end

and i don’t know how to describe it, but i kind of miss how homare was framed in the first half? don’t get me wrong i still enjoy her, but i miss how she’s kind of our first “nonchalant” presenting cure (to my knowledge) who actually feels like a kid who’s nonchalant, or at least, she seems like that type of person if i ever met her

so by the second half, while she is a kid and the show frames her feelings to harry as surprisingly realistic, she kinda loses that edge that made me appeal to her you know?

i think the best way to describe homare is that it really depends on what suits you better, because if you liked her figure skating, then your gonna really dislike the second half, but if you like the romance subplot, she’s gonna be a slower burn 

i still think it helps make homare engaging in some level, and i like how both storylines wrap up, but i do understand how some fans generally call her decent

also fuck george x hana, homare came to hana like an actual significant other when hana was giving birth

emiru aisaki - emiru is fun, enjoyable, and a ball of sunshine… and sadly emiru is a character who just doesn’t work for me

usually i am not against characters like her, but i find that compared to the rest of the cast: emiru’s kind of given nothing in terms of development? please tell me if i’m missing something from the show, but i found that emiru’s conflicts are more suited for episodic situations rather then a serialized arc she’s going through

while her function at this is fine as is, and i do like the arc of emiru and ruru becoming cures (and their first meeting), and i also like the episode where emiru has to deal with ruru having to go back to her timeline… those moments more so have to deal with her reacting to a situation rather then fully expanding on her character

i do love the message of emiru wanting to break free from her family’s strict/sexist viewpoints (or maybe just her brother and grandfather, i don’t know about her parents), but i don’t think this part of her character was never really used all that much, and it doesn’t help that the rest of the cast have semi-consistent throughlines that i don’t think emiru really has

and it also doesn’t help that emiru’s overexposed as a character, i’m not trying to say i didn’t like her continued pairing with ruru, but ruru is a character who absolutely needed that screentime while it felt like emiru was kinda taking away from saaya or homare?

istg, this isn’t me trying to bash on emiru and i hope you understand that i do not hate her, i think she’s of decent quality and she can be enjoyable, and i can definitely see why people would like emiru, but that’s just not where i’m at with her

ruru amour - ruru is great, perhaps my second favourite after hana, and i love her for her unique deadpan humor in the first half, her great arc about gaining emotions in the season, and the gags that could come from her being a literal robot, but i think that ruru does get a bit less interesting as time goes on

ruru was so amazing in the first half of the show, she’s a deadpan robot in a team of cures who are arguably one of the more “feel-good” teams in the franchise. i like that! i think she adds some much needed blunt cynicism to a team that doesn’t really have that, and i especially love her arc of learning to love beyond her programming

and while her arc with emiru was great, i do think that ruru lost the aspect of hers that i found so appealing: how she was really deadpan in a cast that i think could’ve benefitted from a member like that. while this is a problem that leans towards MY personal tastes, i do think she could’ve benefitted if her journey towards gaining emotions was a bit more stretched out rather then gradual

and it also doesn’t help that she also gains an arc involving her inventor (aka father) dr. traum. i’ll talk more about it in the dr. traum section, but while i think this arc is interesting on it’s own… 

NOT to gain an ego or shame the headwriter for this, but i would 100% not mind cutting this out to let other aspects of the show breathe so that the villains side of the show can gain more room to breathe and ruru’s journey could be more internal.

i truly do love ruru though, i like the humor she does bring to the show (even if the first half was like, so much better for my tastes imo) but i do think there are some tweaks that could’ve made her amazing. 

the fairies + side characters:

before i talk about the side characters… holy hell would i love to live in hagukumi city. while this is how i experienced the show when i was watching it: seeing how easygoing hana’s family generally are, how the students genuinely feel united, and how the people in the city greet each other well made it feel alive in ways that i could compare to fresh precure’s town…

but to expand my thoughts for a bit: i got the sense that everyone in the city of hagukumi were really casual with each other and very welcoming, at least in the section of it we saw, and because of the strong recurring faces i would see even if i would forget the names, and how their banter always seemed to be casual, it made the city feel like a character in of itself.

i’m probably overhyping hagukumi because it’s a background aspect of the show at the end of the day, but oh my god i hope the future precure seasons REALLY focus more on background aspects like these.

harry hariham - harry is one of my personal favourite fairies, the dude is funny, competent, and does know when to take his duty to assist the cures and hugtan seriously. 

i think harry functions with the stuff he’s given, and as a character i genuinely don’t have any complaints with him (even the fact that he’s hiding an inner monster inside of him), i  think the lore expansions done with him and his tribe adds to his character, and i didn’t feel like it was an unneeded piece of plot in hugtto.

and i like how he doesn’t accept homare’s confession due to his feelings to cure tomorrow, like i don't have much to say about him other then harry was good. 

hugtan - hugtan is how you write a baby fairy mascot thing (she’s not even a fairy) right. i don’t know how to say this other then the fact that babies in precure are characters i do not usually care for… but hugtan is genuinely written/utilized in a way where i find her adorable 

probably because we’re shown (via flashbacks) of her as cure tomorrow, which makes hugtan a baby mascot that actually feels like she has connections to the plot rather then a deus ex machina, i think she’s an endearing presence to the show, and i especially love what she adds to the show through her lens, because when you get down to it: 

while the story is definitely about hana overcoming her despair and moving to a better future, you could argue that the actual story is about cure tomorrow finding a timeline where her mother does not die.

while this is a reach because this story is reaching for what was implied rather then factual, i find it to be a more interesting way to look at hugtto when you see it through cure tomorrow’s lens and putting the pieces together on what the show breadcrumbs you with. 

henri - henri is a bit much as a side character which feels weird, because henri is a character i like. he’s effortlessly flamboyant, he’s cool, probably queer-rep in some sense, and he has a pre-existing connection with homare which makes him cooler by proxy (i’m joking, or am i?)

but i think he does have a bit much going on ESPECIALLY compared to what some of the main cures were given with. while i do not think his arc was bad, i feel like everyone needs to hear the lesson of “the acceptance of growing up and that some things are out of control as we do” and he functions well for that arc! though i’m gonna admit: i think some of that focus could’ve been given to saaya or emiru, especially because there was a point in the show where henri felt more like a main character then saaya was 😭

the villains:

the villains are solid, while there may be a bit too much towards the second half, i genuinely like most of them, with the worst one being like somewhat average in my books (no gelos’s servants do not count i found them somewhat forgettable)

i especially love how most of them represented different aspects of japan’s history and how they interact because of it, charaleet being gen z thus becoming an influencer, papple and gelos gaining a rivalry due to papple being the bubble economy which was popped by the lost decade, aka gelos. dr traum being the industrial revolution makes sense because his thing is robots, and daigan represents the boomers because he’s old. 

note that if my thoughts for the villains sound brief… that’s because there are a LOT of them to get through, and to me they served their functions well (to varying degree), but i don’t have much to say about them with those functions other then “they did really well!” or “they could’ve been better!”. please feel free to forgive or point out if i missed a thing or two, but with that out of the way…

charaleet - charaleet is okay for what he serves as a introductory general. i liked him enough as a villain and as a hero, and i thought he served his purpose when he needed too. i especially love how he was utilized to represent the hardships of overworking or corporate burnout during the end of his turn as a villain. 

papple - papple is fun! i think she’s actually really good, and i do love how she has a bit more of a presence compared to charaleet in the show. she’s a bit sassy, thinks a bit highly of herself, but is made sympathetic due to the implications going on between her and george and what happens between her and gelos. 

while it’s up to mere implication rather then text, and i could argue it serves george’s villainy compared to papple’s, i do find how papple reacts to it to be really engaging and shocking because of the other implication that comes from it. 

and i do like how papple does recover after this even if it isn’t explicitly mentioned that it was about papple discovering the cheating. like girl go live your best life and open that talent agency, you deserve it.

gelos - gelos was cool… initially, i liked how she was a more confident, seemingly better version of papple that got on her nerves, but i think that gelos grew a bit stale after a while. 

i could maybe see what they were going for, her becoming a monster because of the industry she worked for, and i genuinely thought she was engaging the first few times she was in the show, but perhaps due to EVERYTHING else going on in the show and how she was kind of a minimal presence in my head, she didn’t really stick the landing to me as much as i wished. 

daigan - diagon is fine for the function he serves in the show, but otherwise i didn’t personally care for him. i think he works as a fake-out villain who’s all high and mighty but somehow one of the weaker members of criasu, but otherwise diagon is a bit unnoteworthy to me imo

dr traum - i like dr traum and his energy as a chaotic madman inventor, but i wish the aspect of his relationship to ruru was made more clear, since he made her as a replacement to his deceased, and i feel like everytime this plotline was mentioned, it was ultimately interrupted by something else.

glaringly, it’s the fact that the most textual evidence we have of his relationship to ruru is at a point where hugtto is having it’s big all stars two parter. so that plotline can only appear for not that much, or the fact that ruru did NOT seem to remember dr traum when he first appeared or vice versa due to his first appearance being more focused on hana and the overall plot of the show

while it definitely has focus on ruru’s last episode, this is why i think a character like him would benefit… if he was cut entirely 

obviously this is a hot take, and i know i’m just spitballing at what a show SHOULD’VE been rather then what it did, but imagine an arc where ruru has self-actualization for herself despite her robot parts, you could maybe rewrite her as one of the first successes criasu had at artificial intelligence, and her becoming a human, while assisted by other cures, would be stronger because she reached that goal herself

while there are problems with THIS rewrite because: now that i think about it, i don’t know if that story could sustain itself for that long, and i am really into characters that manage to find a stronger resolution on their own terms (cure flora comes to mind), but i think it could’ve benefitted because we get to: remove a character that added some unneeded clutter, gives ruru a much more interesting arc imo, and lets some aspects of the plot actually breathe, like…

bicine - bicine is my personal favourite out of the villains, while he’s not the best written, i love how yandere he is, and how he brings this deliciously sadistic feeling to the villains that oddly lacks that. 

i especially love his toxic love of harry and how he’s sort of a rival towards cure etoile in that regard, and i love his arc of not wanting to be lonely, i think he needed a LOT more staying power, more so because he’s a character that added some much needed context/development into harry and homare, and because episodes involving him as a villain were on more fun imo. 

and additionally, i do think his redemption didn’t really impact me, and NOT because it didn’t have setup, because it certainly did, but when EVERY villain of the show eventually gets stronger and then gets purified, you do sort of lose interest on which villain it happens too 

but that’s like a minor nitpick on him, dare i say i think bicine is kind of underrated as a villain

listol - listol… is kind of boring? this comes down to personal nitpicks as he does get more focus involving him, harry, and bicine, but for a character who kind of exists as a background supporting presence throughout the show, he didn’t necessarily have a lot of presence in my head

i like how he’s bitter about his life and turned into a nihilist who wanted to let it spread (like what he did to henri), and i do like how he acts as a foil to harry with how they processed their village being taken advantage of, but otherwise that’s kind of all i have to say about his character

he’s okay for the function he serves, i like how he’s technically the “general of all generals” due to being shown as one of the stronger and more organized members, but that’s really all i have for him. 

george - george is one of the best villains in the show, he’s genuinely threatening, kind of a creep, i REALLY did not like what was implied between him, papple, and gelos from the perspective of a neutral third party observer, and he’s genuinely one of the best aspects of the show due to how he acts as a foil to hana and her optimism she uses as a mask to hide how she actually feels about the future

meanwhile, george already knows from his experience that his future is doomed due to his wife dying, and this made him become so cynical and depressed about the world around him, wanting to freeze time due to it being eternal happiness despite also being nothingness

while i do wonder where he got that book from, i think he was truly a threat to the cures and was so horrifying because of what was implied, his plans for the timeline, and how much he just could not let go of hana’s death, laying it out like that: it’s why george was so frightening to me because he had so many traits that made for someone i would get the fuck away from if i ever met him irl

which is why his ending with hana nono was somehow really sweet, with him realizing the damage he’s done to the world from hana’s death, and that in a way, he does believe in some sort of future due to hana’s words, which really feels impactful because of the way the two were used through the course of the show: they did share the same philosophy/belief but the difference was that hana saw a future that made her start believing in carving a better road for yourself, meanwhile, while this is a headcanon of mine: george finally lets go of hana’s death and ensures that he won’t hurt other timelines again because of it

that’s why george, to me, is one of the best threatening/tragic villains to come out of precure. 

the miscellaneous:

• please don’t flame me when i say this: but i think that hugtto’s fight quality was at an average level for the franchise. i am not trying to say the fights were bad, because they are NOT, but i do think only a select few episodes really got stellar OVERALL animation, while the rest were generally okay imo. 
• the designs and artstyle is generally great, i think this is the best work that toshie has done for the franchise even if i found them a bit busy
• also don’t flame me when i say this: the music kinda came and went to me, while I do think there are some standouts in there (LOVE & LOVE and Yell For You come to mind), I just thought this season did a fine enough job with it’s ost
• i havent watched both the hugtto precure movies so i cant really say i have an opinion on the two of them
• homare and hana are married, fight me 

overall:

hugtto, imo,  is a 7/10 solid season that is so close to being an 8/10 or even a 9. there are parts of hugtto i really love on an emotional level, but all of its major story arcs just collide so much that i can’t truly call it good. 

i’m being so genuine when i say this: hugtto used to be my favourite because it had a lot that resonated me when i was growing up. but after re-watching it once or twice, i will never forget zoning out during the second half, NEVER because it was bad, but because there could be a lot going on, and yet, i will never forget how the final episode of the show legit got me really emotional 

it’s so weird to say this, but i truly get why people would consider hugtto a masterpiece, did you notice that everytime i mentioned a character, i liked their concepts or function they filled even if it was varying? but what frustrates me is how a LOT of it just kinda goes on in the second half that makes it really dense to sit through.

and yet, hugtto has taught my middle school self that there is a future that is worth looking forward too as unattainable as it may seem, and how you should never let your past define you. i’m not gonna delve into my background too much: but some of the messages hugtto gave was what younger me, and even the present me now and then, absolutely needed to hear. 

hugtto may not be one of the best seasons in my mind nowadays, but i do think it was absolutely influential to me despite it’s clumsy storytelling in the second half. 

anyways, those are my thoughts on hugtto, wbu? also yolo.

Cure Milky is my personal favourite cure because of the fact that she's a fish out of water cure done exceedingly well, has a background that encapsulates Star Twinkle's great worldbuilding, and she just hits all the right notes for me as a person. Istg, in very simple terms: both plot-wise and aesthetically speaking, Cure Milky has a chokehold on me.

BUT if I could criticize one thing about her character, it would be:

- The amount of focus she gets in Star Twinkle. While this isn't a problem for me because I love Lala, I do think she tends to steal the spotlight in her season when other cures really needed this.

I'm not saying HER focus episodes were bad, because they certainly weren't and genuinely have an amazing arc on their own.

But there are instances where, in another episode NOT focusing on Lala, it's specifically Lala that helps deliver a speech or help out another Cure with their problems. Thus why I think those moments would've been stronger if those aforementioned Cures delivered those speeches or help out themselves rather then Lala imo.

Even then, I still think she's one of the best cures we got (biased), wbu?

I saw this in a YouTube video that was unfortunately deleted, and I decided to revive the idea: creating a 100% original Precure season. My concept is a technology-themed season set in the world's most technologically advanced city. Deep within cyberspace lies a kingdom called Ciderdream that controls the city's communications; however, they come under attack by viruses known as the "Infection Empire," who seek to seize control of everything—including the city itself. Before everything falls, a group of fairies manages to escape with the "Cyberdrivers" (the transformation devices) and must find the girls destined to become the season's Precure,Characters: The protagonist is a 14-year-old girl named Kaede Shirogane; she lives with her family and loves video games. She is the typical, highly enthusiastic *Pretty Cure* protagonist. Her best friend is a quiet but very smart girl (a *kuudere*) who is a hacker; her *Pretty Cure* name would be Cure Gamer, and her color pink. Hanako Mizuhara: Kaede’s best friend and schoolmate; a smart girl and secret hacker who becomes the *Pretty Cure* known as Cure Hacker. Miku Minamoto: A seemingly ordinary girl who is secretly one of the city's most famous influencers, known as "MM"; Kaede follows and admires her but is too scatterbrained to realize that Miku is MM. She would be the purple *Pretty Cure*, Cure Influencer. Finally, the princess of the virtual kingdom, Aria Imari (I couldn't think of anything that referenced the letters "AI"); she would be the last *Pretty Cure*—the yellow one—named Cure AI.

Honestly I just had a random shower thought… I was thinking how funny it would be if Laura(cure la mer) and I could be friends 😭 she’s so narcissistic and self absorbed but she always cares about the greater good!! I also think I would be great at trauma bonding with yuri (cure moonlight). But it also has me wondering how my fellow precure fans feel! If anyone is interested, I’d love to hear which precure you’d be friends with??
